Before leaving the surgery, Hilary checked on the condition of the Reverend Grafton and Billy Wragg. Doctor Fielding and Christine Rigby were attending to the two men in the upstairs bedrooms, which Hilary had offered as temporary treatment rooms until the ambulances arrived. Her phone call to Ashford had stressed the urgency of the situation, and she’d requested a specialist burns team be despatched with the emergency vehicle. Satisfied that the two men were as comfortable and stable as they could be under the circumstances, she rejoined the men downstairs.
