He sat with his unit for food. It was nice of them this late to keep all this food out of them.
"Boss, you need to apologise and start again. I know it's been a while since you've been out of the pack, but have you forgotten how to be an alpha? " Terry said.
Watch your mouth, Beta.
"I think what our beta is trying to say is this isn't like you. What's happened? " Val asked.
He was genuinely shocked he's never seen a wolfless before their scent is strange.
"Still a bit rude for you," Val said.
He's knows he'll apologise. Alpha Lutton, Alpha Julian, and war general Quentin sat down. Firstly, can he speak. Alpha Lutton nodded.
Alpha Lutton,. "I'm sorry." We've had a long drive, and he's tired. He hasn't been out of his pack in a year since his mate was killed, and he was genuinely shocked to meet a wolfless. None of it is an excuse. He forgot his manners. He's sorry. Also, thank you for the food aswel it was very thoughtful of you. Now, I'm turning to Quentin.
War general Quentin. "I apologise. I meant no disrespect to you or your daughter. Can we try again?" Jack asked
"May I ask how you've never come across one. You are 98. Are you not." Alpha Lutton asked.
He very rarely leaves his pack or the wolfen realm. His younger brother managed our European businesses and his sister the America business. His father, the 3 training academies. He goes for openings and then back to the pack. He's a creature of habit. He likes his home comforts. He's more himself at home.
"Okay, clean slate. Don't believe everything you hear about the wolfless. My daughter is strong as I've made her that way. Weak and my daughter don't go together, " he said,
He's sure she isn't. May he apologise?
"Dont worry about that it will take more than that to offened Quinn she was probably trying to piss up off for the fun of it," Alpha Lutton said
"It's true she has my sense of humour, " Quentin said.
"You are welcome to stay. We will sort the alliance out in the morning. Get some rest when you are ready. Ginny here will show you to your rooms," Lutton said.
Thank you. We all finished, and Ginny the head omega here. She showed us to all our rooms. Told us what time breakfast is served and left.
The next morning, he was up early he needed to go for a run. The full moon wasn't till 6 pm today. So he had time to make amends. Word must have gotten around this pack quickly. He received a few scowls from the pack members.
That wasn't good. He could see some not coming to his pack due to his comments. He was jogging around the forest when he saw the training field. Alpha Julian looked to be training with his unit. Good morning, Alpha Julian.
"Yes, you too. Are you looking for a training session?" he asked.
No, just to stretch his legs a bit. It was a long journey. Plus, it's something he does at home it's where he thinks.
"I agree. I know someone who likes to do that, too, " He said, smiling.
He obviously meant Quinn. He then pointed over to a path.
"I'd give it 5 mins, and you'll see that someone and maybe apologise, " He said.
You know her very well then? Julian raised an eyebrow at him. He didn't mean anything by it. He's just curious.
"Yes, we've been friends since we were children. I'm close with her two older brothers."
Older brothers. "Yes, she is one of 6. The middle child, " he said.
Jack thought to himself it explained a lot. Thank you, Julian. He started jogging that way, and they she was earbuds in and jogging down the path towards the pack house.
He jogged behind her until she reached the pack steps. She stopped and turned to see him. She was around 5.6. He was, however, a lot taller than her 6.9. Her hair was tied up into a ponytail and then plaited. She had very bright gym wear on.
He frowned. She would be easily attacked in that out it was bright orange with yellow sun faces on. She was toned but not skinny. She had a nice figure.
"Hello eyes up here, Alpha Jack," She said.
Sorry, my apologies. Your outfit. "What about it?" It's very bright, not a smart thing to wear. What if you were being hunted they'd find you in a heartbeat.
"Oh, because I'm wolfless, I can't handle myself. " she said.
He didn't mean it like that. It's just bright.
"Well, that is exactly why I do wear bright and colourful things. It makes my opponent underestimate me. but thank you for your input, but you are not my father or mate or alpha even. You don't get a say in what I wear," She said.
She walked away. Quinn, please wait.
"What now do I not walk properly is my storming off not to your liking?" she said. He exhaled.
"I'm sorry about last night. I was rude with my comment. I didn't mean it the way it came across. I was wrong. I also didn't mean anything by your clothing or ability to fight. I'm just used to dark boring clothing, I guess," He said.
Quinn was just staring at him. He thinks trying to decide if she believed him or not.
"Okay, thank you for the apology. Let's start again. Hello, I am Quinn Hilton, 3rd level elites warrior. " She said, holding put her hand.
He took it and shaked it. Hello Quinn. I'm Alpha Jack Prince of Crescent Valley Pack in the wolfen realm. It's nice to meet you. 3rd level that impressive.
"For a wolfless?" she stated.
No, he was going to say age. She smiled.
"How old do you think I am?" she asks, smirking.
Oh no, his mother taught him never to comment on a woman age that will just get you hit. Quinn laughed. A genuine laugh.
"Go on, humour me. I promise I won't hit you or get mad." she said.
He looked at her up and down. She had her hands on her hips. Erm around 25??
"Not a bad guess. I'm 30. I will be 31 in a couple of months, " she said.
It's not a bad guess. Your turn.
"My turn for what?" she asked.
Guess his age. "I already know it," she said.
How do you know? We started walking back to the pack house.
"I heard my father say you're 98 years old and still an alpha." She said.
We walked into the pack house toward the lift. She entered the life and she went up. He saw her step out onto the 4th floor. Jack looked up to see her father. Morning Quentin, he's cleared the air with Quinn.
"I saw, and I saw the flirting. Don't do that. " He said.
He wasn't or wasn't meaning it to come across that way. He was just being nice after our interaction last night. Quentin just nodded.
"Meeting with Alpha Lutton at 8 am. He has arriving packs from 9am." he said.
He looked at his watch. It was 7am. He thought he better get showered dressed and food before the meeting. He walked into his suite to see his unit awake waiting for him.
"You seem happier?" Val said.
She had her head tilted to one side. Stop that. Yes, he managed to clear the misunderstanding with Quinn, and he even got her to laugh.
"You like her?" Val said.
Valentina, dont go, they. He doesn't want to admit it, but we need their help, and she's clearly important to them all. We weren't going to get anywhere if she's pissed at us.
"What you mean us? You were the one that pissed her off," Terry said.
Thank you, beta, helpful.
"It's what I'm here for. " Terry responded.
He showered and dressed smartly. They all ate in the dining hall. He received a few stares but was to be expected. He was waiting in the foyer. Alpha Lutton appeared.
"Alpha Jack, please come into his office." He asked.
Jack did with his unit following.
"I've looked over your alliance, and I only have one thing I will be changing." Alpha Lutton said.
That would be. "My pack won't be made to go to your pack. It will be a decision made between the mated pair regardless of rank. " He said.
That's not how it normally works.
"Well, we are in the 21st century Alpha Jack. Women, men, and lower rank member, any rank members should be allowed to make their own decisions about their lives. It's not for me to decide, advice, yes," Lutton said.
Okay, just rank members. His units are from a very long generations and he wants his daughter to have the alpha unit she grew up with and trust.
Lutton stared at him. "Okay, I can agree with that. A female alpha?" he asked.
Yes, his daughter is strong and capable and will make a great alpha, so yes, regardless of her mate being an alpha, he will be coming to his pack. His daughter has worked hard.
"Well, that good. You're doing the right thing. I'm happy with the rest of the alliance, " he said and signed the paper.
Lutton turned it around to face him. He grabbed it and signed it. Both our betas witnessed and did their signatures.
"Right now, the fun stuff. Party time full moon, " Lutton said.
