Hunting down the past

Dear, DiaryAugust, 9, 2027Today is August, 9, 2027 and today is finally the day, ever since I was little, I dreamed of being atime traveler and….. “Hey Sis what are you doing, are you ready for the interview?” Soraya interrupted my writingSoraya , my little sister. Sometimes we even call her Raya for short or even Soy sauce for fun.People say her name is quite unusual , but it is really special to her. Mom came up with thisname. Meaning “Princess.”“Yeah I guess, I am all done with my studies and all the safety requirements for this job, can’tback off now,” I replied“Dad asked you to come downstairs to eat,” Soraya told me.“Yeah, I am coming,” I repliedI continued writing down stuff in my diary Dear Diary,…… I want to help with the secret mission the time travelers are preparing for. I don’tknow what the secret mission is yet, but I will soon. “What are you writing in you Diary,” Soraya asked while walking towards me“None of your Business,” I said furiously“Let me guess, time traveling,” She said while putting her right elbow on my left shoulder.“Yeah, whatever” I replied.“Did you tell dad about it yet,” She asked“No, he’s gonna say no anyways, you know he’s gonna say it’s too dangerous,” I told her whilerolling my eyes.“Yeah, but yo ...,” She got cut off by Dad.“Girls come on and eat already, are dancing or something, took forever,” Dad yelled“What were you saying,” I asked her“Nevermind, let’s go eat,” She said while turning around.I closed my diary and put it in the upper drawer in my nightstand and locked it. All my secretsare hidden in my diary, can’t just leave it out in the open.“Come on,” Soraya said while walking out the doorWe had pancakes for breakfast, my favourite. Sometimes I even miss my mom while eating,She used to make the best pancakes and was an excellent cook. Mom was the only closeperson I had. I could share everything with her. Sadely five years ago, she died in a spaceaccident. She was a brave astronaut and a great mother. Unfortunately I still can’t shareanything about time traveling and my life with my dad, still not comfortable.“Blaire what are you thinking,” Dad asked curiously“Nothing, nothing at all,” I replied with a frown“Blaire, look you are Twenty- one now, I know you don´t wanna share stuff with me but its foryou best,” Dad said with a fake smile“Sorry, dad,” I saidIt feels like my heart is burning, talking to my dad in this kind of manner. I have to follow mydreams, I can’t just do what he says forever. The interview starts in an hour, I better hurry andcome up with an excuse to leave the house. I can’t tell him about the interview, or else he won’tlet me go.“Um…. Dad I promised my friends to hang out with them this weekend, I have to leave in anhour,” I said nervouslyEverytime the lie shows on my face, that’s how bad I am at lying. This time was different, he didnot suspect a single thing. I guess it’s a lucky day for me, hopefully my luck stays with me thewhole day. I have to get the job no matter what, I wanna see my mom. I ran upstairs and startedpreparing for the interview.“Bye dad, I am leaving,” I pretended to smile as I told himSoraya walked over.“Good luck,” she whispered in my right ear.“Thank you,” I whispered backI saw with the corner of my eye how dad was giving a frown while crossing his arms.“Ahmmm, bye dad,” I said with a nervous smile
