Second Chances She Doesn't Want

Pain like I never felt before radiated through my whole body, I struggled to stay on my feet as I walked down the hallway of the pack house. I just needed to make it to our room so I could lay down. I am hoping this will go away soon but I made a mental note to check in with the pack doctor if this continues. Nova my wolf was whimpering in the back of my mind. I have been having pain like this for the past couple months but there was no rhyme or reason to the pain. As I went to grab the door handle when I heard moaning coming from behind the door. I slowly opened the door and walked in to see Connor, my mate, having s*x with my supposed best friend Sarah. “What the h**l!” I slammed the door shut behind me and they flew apart in shock. “Melissa! S**t baby it’s not what you think.” Connor jumped up from the bed and tried to come towards me. I shoved him away, “Is not what I think? Looks to me like the two people I trusted the most are stabbing me in the back right now.” Sarah was naked and laying in the bed smirking at me. “Melissa it’s good you found out about this now. Connor and I are in love and once he finally rejects you we can finally be together. You could never be as good of a beta female as I will be.” Connor spun on her and told her to shut up as he continued to try to come towards me. “Melissa, honey please let’s sit down and talk about this.” He was acting so calm and rationally it irritated me to no end. First, he had the nerve to cause me all of this pain, then he wanted me to calmly sit down and talk to him calmly about why he was cheating on me! To add injury to insult this all included my supposed best friend. Scoffing at him I stepped back, I spoke to my wolf first, Nova I know he is your mate too but this is unforgivable and I can’t stay with him. Nova spoke back to me, “Missy I will be with you and support you no matter what decision you make. Even though Connor betrayed us, Axel told us he never supported the actions Connor took. Axel knows we are strong and he knows that Connors actions may result in us rejecting them. We are both at peace with any decision you come to. I stood there looking at the two people in front of me that have betrayed both me and my wolf. Connor and I have been together for 5 years, but we have known each other all of our lives. My family were warriors for the White Moon pack, and Connor, Sarah, and I grew up together and always went out on adventures together in the woods with our other friends Lacy, Billy, the Alpha’s son, and Daryl. Lacy was one of my friends that was an orphaned omega, and Daryl was also another orphan but we were always inseparable as children. While Sarah, Billy, Connor and I always seemed to be closer, there were times that Lacy and I always leaned on each other and I knew she was always there when I needed her. Sarah seemed to at times be dismissive and she seemed bothered when I reached out. Now her attitude made sense to me and I was irritated that I fell for both of their betrayal so easily. As Connor tried to come towards me I turned and walked towards the door, my only goal was to get away from both of them. As I grabbed the door handle Connor grabbed my arm to stop me. It seemed like my body moved on its own at this moment, I turned grabbed on to both of his upper arms and sent my knee up into his groin as hard as I could. He went down like a sack of bricks and Sarah screamed and scrambled over to him. I grabbed her hair and pulled it back so she had to look at me. “You both disgust me and I hope that you both pay the price when you meet the goddess someday.” I ran back down the hall and made my way to the stairs. I sent a mind link to Billy asking if I could meet with him briefly. He responded almost immediately saying of course and to come to his office. I made my way to Billy’s office and I was surprised by how well I was holding it together at this moment but I knew once the adrenaline wore off and I settled down everything would eventually hit me hard but I needed to keep going for now. I walked up to Alpha Billy’s office door and knocked to which he immediately called for me to enter. When I walked up to his desk I could see him sitting there smiling at me as I walked up and I could see his mate Ellie standing next to him. Ellie and I had become fast friends after they met and she joined our pack. I sat down across from them both and I could see Billy’s smile fade as he took in my appearance. “What’s wrong Missy? I can see something is bugging you, tell me what I can do to help.” I was still buzzing from the betrayal I walked into and Nova was still whimpering in my mind due to her grief. I sat and filled Billy and Ellie in on everything I had been feeling and what I walked in on today. I watched as their faces morphed from absolute shock to anger as I spoke. “Missy what do you need from me, because while he is my beta, I will not stand for this betrayal and if Sarah thinks she is going to be the beta female in the end, she is sadly mistaken.” Ellie moved around the desk and pulled me into a hug which I appreciated at this moment. “Billy, all I want is for you to release me from this pack, I can’t be here with them after their betrayal. I am sorry and I will miss you but Nova and I need a fresh start.” He looked so sad with what I was asking but he understood. Billy told me once I got all my stuff together and rejected Connor he would perform the ceremony releasing me from the pack. As I made my way back to the room I shared with Connor, Billy told me he would have warriors remove Connor so I could get my stuff and only return him when I was done so I could officially reject him. Nova was ready for this moment and I hoped I would be too, I went into our room and avoided looking at the bed where I saw Connor betraying me with my best friend. I grabbed a duffle and started shoving in my clothes, then packed all my hygiene products from our bathroom. I grabbed any mementos I had from before Connor, and any books that were mine. I mindlinked Billy I was done so he could have the warriors bring Connor back to the room. I took some deep breaths and focused on preparing for what was to come. I heard arguing and scuffling before the door flew open. Connor came into the room looking crazed and tried to make a grab at me. The warriors stopped him and held him back as I stepped up to him. He looked at me with fear in his eyes as I stood in front of him. “Baby don’t do this please. It was a horrible mistake and I know that now. Missy please let’s just talk about this without everyone here and we can fix this just you and me.” I shook my head at that sad excuse of an apology and stood firm and proud in front of him. I saw Billy and Ellie walk into the room as I spoke my rejection, “I Melissa Masters, beta female of the White Moon pack reject you Connor Masters, beta of the White Moon pack as my mate. I reject my position as beta female of White Moon Pack and I chose to leave the pack and leave behind all its secrets. Connor looked feral as I spoke my rejection of both him and the pack. Billy came forward and I could feel his aura as he spoke. “Connor, you will accept her rejection and let her go.” I could tell he wanted to fight this but he couldn’t. At this moment I appreciated Billy’s interference. “I Billy Master’s, beta of the White Moon pack, accept your rejection. I could see his claws coming out at this moment because he did not want to accept my rejection but he had no choice with Billy’s Alpha command. I was hurting but since I had experienced betrayal pains, this type of pain was microscopic in comparison. Billy walked up to me and placed some keys in my hand as well as an envelope. I hugged them both and made my way out of the pack house. I sent a quick text to my parents who were away for the last month on a long vacation. I told them that I was leaving the pack and I would be in touch soon to explain everything. I asked them to continue their vacation and not to worry about me. My mom immediately was texting me asking what was wrong and why I was leaving. I said I would have to explain later and that it would have to be a phone call not a text. I walked up to the SUV that Billy had waiting for me and immediately stopped. Standing there leaning against it waiting on me were Lacy and Daryl and they both had duffle bags on the ground next to them. “What are you both doing here?” I walked up to them slowly, and they both looked up at me. Lacy smiled, Billy told us what happened and we told him that we were going with you. We can’t believe how much of an i***t Connor was and we don’t want you leaving this pack alone. Billy agreed and immediately granted our release too.” “I appreciate this guys, but I can’t ask you to leave your home when I don’t even know where I will go. You both have lives here and jobs, do you really want to walk away from that?” Daryl and Lacy both walked towards me, grabbed my bags and guided me to the awaiting vehicle. “We will go wherever you go Missy, Billy and Ellie both understand our decision so you just need to accept it. Let’s go, we can come up with some ideas for a destination once we get on the road.” How could I question them, and it would be nice knowing that I had two people I trusted with me on my journey. We all got in the SUV Billy gave us and Daryl started our journey out of White Moon packlands.
