Lydia woke up the next morning feeling slightly better. She knew she had to get ready for school but she was still hurting, so she decided to go downstairs and ask her dad if she could stay home today. He replied, “Sure, baby I’ll call the school and let them know” She hugged him with her good arm and thanked hi. Lydia went back upstairs to get some lunge pants on and grab her phone. She sent Trevor a text. “Hey, I won’t be in school today still hurting quite a bit.” She made it the kitchen and heard her phone ding, “No worries, I’ll grab your work and bring it by later.” Lydia smiled replied, “Thanks, see you later.” She put the phone down and made her some cereal then she said, “Bye Daddy, have a great day at work.” Her dad came and gave her a kiss on her cheek and said, “Thanks sweetie, and you rest up ok, don’t do too much today, make you take you medication and relax.” She nodded since she had a huge mouth full of cereal in her mouth.   She finished up her breakfast and put the bowl in the dishwasher then took her medicine. She decided to sit in the living room and watch her show Outlander on Netflix. Sometime later she her the doorbell. As she glanced at the clock under the T.V. she realized that she had slept all day, as the clock read 4:00 pm. She rubbed her eyes and got up as the doorbell rang again. She glanced out the peep hole of the door and recognized Trevor standing on the other side. She looked down at her outfit and was panicking about her attire. She was still in her lounge wear and her hair was a mess. She yelled, “Hold just a minute.” She went the hall bathroom and tried to straighten her hair a bit and tried to get the wrinkles out of her t-shirt. She had forgot that he was coming over. She rushed back to the door and opened it and said, “Sorry about that, I fell asleep and forgot that you were coming over. I hate that you have to see me in lounge wear.” Trevor chuckled at her honesty, “Lydia you can pull off a potato sack. You are naturally beautiful.” She blushed at his comment. “Thanks” She replied sheepishly. She gestured for him to come inside and she shut the door behind him. “I got your assignments from your classes today. Would you like some help?” Trevor asked. Lydia replied, “Sure, let’s set up in the living room and we can get started. Would you like something to drink? We have sodas, water or juice.” Lydia asked. Trevor said, “Water is fine, thanks” She went to fridge and grabbed two water bottles and came back to the living room and noticed that Trevor had his head back and an arm covering his eyes. “I wasn’t gone that long for you to fall asleep.” Lydia said teasingly. “Nah, I was just thinking.” Trevor said. “What were you thinking so hard about? If you don’t mind me asking.” Lydia asked curiously. “No, I don’t mind you asking. I was just thinking about a bunch of stuff really, like the game this weekend, since it’s an away game. I’m worried about you and your arm. I hate that you were hurt again last night due to me, ‘again’. If you let me, I would love to help you out at school, ya know walk with you to each class and carry your books, just until your arm heals.” Trevor said. Lydia taken back with his kindness, once again.”I would absolutely love that. Are you sure it’s OK, I don’t want to be a burden on you?” She said with so much emotion. He was being so sweet to her and she didn’t want to seem like she was weighing him down, because she knew he had a busy schedule too. Trevor shook his head and took her hand and said, “Of course I want to and you will never be a burden to me. I like you. And it will give us more time to get to know each other.” Lydia looked down at her hand in his and smiled. She gave his hand a squeeze and said, “Sure I would really appreciate that. And if you can’t get to me, I am sure Samantha wouldn’t mind helping a girl out.” Trevor smiled and nodded in agreement. “Shall we get started with the lessons you were assigned today?” Trevor asked. Lydia said, “Sure, why not? My parents should be home soon. Would you like to stay for dinner?” Trevor smiled, “Yeah let me text my mom and let her know I’ll be staying.” She got her books and laid them on the coffee table and waited for him to finish up his conversation with his mom. She peeked over to him and noticed that he was coming to sit near her and they started working on their homework. Her parents finally made it home after an hour and half of them doing homework. “Mom, I hope you don’t mind Trevor staying over for dinner?” Lydia asked her mother. “Of course not, he is always welcome to eat with us whenever he wants to. I got enough take out to feed a small town.” Mrs. Wilson said. “I’ll help set the table. If you want me to?” she asked her mom. Her mom, “Sure sweetie that will be nice.” Lydia took Trevor's hand and said, “Come on you can help me set the table.” Trevor followed her to the kitchen and they both grabbed drinks and plates and set the table. They all grabbed a sit and started piling food on their plates and started eating. They had a nice conversation throughout the whole dinner. Once dinner was finished, “Mr. And Mrs. Wilson thank you for letting me stay for dinner. I better head on out, I can’t stay out to late since it’s a school night. I would get grounded.” Trevor laughed at his own joke. Lydia said, “I’ll walk you out.” They both got up and went the living room to gather his belongings. And walked outside, “Thank you for coming over with my homework. I enjoy hanging out with you.” She blushed; she was not expecting for that to come out of her mouth. Trevor smiled that amazing smile of his and said, “You’re welcome. I like hanging out with you too.” They hugged each other bye and promised to text each other later before they went to sleep.
