Trevor thought to himself as he drove, ‘I can’t believe how beautiful she is. I hope she likes where I’m taking her.’ He stole a glance her way and saw that she was looking out the window. “Hey, penny for thoughts?” Trevor asked Lydia. Lydia turned toward him and sighed, “I’m just really excited about heading into town. Are you going to give me any hints on where you are taking me to dinner?” Trevor smiled and replied, “Nope, it’s a surprise.” Trevor winked at her. They sat in comfortable silence for a while until they parked out in front of a 50’s themed diner and Trevor turned his head towards Lydia and noticed that she looked awestruck. Trevor laughed at her expression and said, “Just wait until you had their milkshakes, and they are to die for.” Lydia smiled and said, “Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go!” She reached over and opened the door to get out. And so did Trevor. They walked to the front door of the diner side by side. Trevor reached to open the door and let Lydia in first and he followed her in. They were told to find any sit and that the waitress would be with them shortly. Trevor led Lydia to the far back booth near the junk box. “Hey want to pick a song?” Trevor asked. Lydia smiled and nodded. She got up and went over to go through some of the songs and picked up. She sat back down and waited for her song to play. Trevor asked, “Which one did you pick?” Lydia said it’s a surprise. Now what’s for dinner?” They both picked up the menu and scanned the menu Trevor decided to go with a philly cheese steak sandwich and fries. As they were ordering their food and the waitress came back over after putting their food in gave them their milkshakes they ordered. Trevor ordered a strawberry and Lydia ordered a double chocolate. “OMG, this is it.” Lydia exclaimed. Trevor laughed, “Earth Angels? Why this song?” Lydia smiled and said, “It’s because I like this song. Why? Don’t you like it?” Trevor thought to himself, ‘I like anything you like.’ But he wasn’t going to admit that to her just yet. As soon as dinner was over and they were back in the car. Trevor asked, “Did you enjoy the diner?” Lydia smiled and said, “Yes, I think that was the first time I ever been to one like that. And that chicken sandwich was delicious.” Trevor laughed and said, “I’m glad you enjoyed it. Now it’s time to go to the next place. It’s going to take a few more minutes until we get there so if you want to turn the radio on you can.” Lydia reached up and turned the on button and some classic rock came on. “This OK?” Lydia asked. Trevor nodded and kept his eyes on the road.
A little while late they arrived and an arcade place. Trevor looked at Lydia when he parked the car. “I hope this is OK. Given your arm and everything. We can go somewhere else if you aren’t in the mood for this. It’s just that Michael, Davis and I always played here when we didn’t have football practice or other things to do.” Lydia shrugged and looked up at him and said, “As long as you help me in there and I think it will be fun. So, no more questioning, let’s get out game on” Trevor said, “I promise I will help you as much as you need me too.” They both got out of the car and headed inside. Trevor went up and grabbed some coins for them to play some games for a while. Lydia thanked him and Trevor said, “Where to first?” Lydia said, “How about we go and play wack-a-mole?” Trevor couldn’t help but laugh out loud and said, “Sure why not.” They went over there and started wacking moles and they laughed every time Lydia missed one because she would just groan out loud. “OK, Trevor your turn to pick something.” She said in frustration. Trevor said, “OK, how about we do some hoops.” “Sure, but you have an unfair advantage because I can only shoot with one arm.” Trevor smiled slightly and said, “I will go easy on you.” And pulled at her hand and they headed over to the hoops when someone bumped into Lydia and she screamed in pain. Trevor looked at her and “Are you ok? What happened?” Lydia was on the floor in tears. Trevor looked up and noticed that a dude was standing there looking shocked. “Hey, man I didn’t mean too, I swear.’ The dude said. Trevor just told him to back off. Trevor picked Lydia up off the floor and took her outside to the car. “Lydia what is it? How can I help?” Trevor didn’t like feeling helpless when this beautiful was in pain and crying his front seat. He wanted to go back in there and give that dude a piece of his mind. But he couldn’t he had to stay and comfort Lydia. Lydia started stuttering, “M-My A-A-RM it is hurts so bad.” Trevor nodded and told her that he would take her back home to get her some pain medicine and get her into bed. “T-Th-ankk you,” she said. Trevor got into the driver seat after buckling her up and shutting her door. “Just hang tight, we will get there soon,” Trevor said. Lydia nodded and just held her arm.
About 20 minutes later they pulled into her driveway. Trevor noticed that both of her parent’s vehicles were there. He rushed out and went over to her side of the car and opened the door. He reached inside and helped her out. “I am so so sorry we had to cut this short. Maybe once my arm heals we can do this again. I had a lot of fun,” Lydia said as they were walking up to her front porch and Trevor knocked on her front door to get her parents attention. He turned towards Lydia and said, “I will be looking forwards to it. And please just go in and take care of yourself. I hate that I caused you to get hurt again.” Her parents came out and asked what is going on. Trevor replied “Someone ran into to her arm and she is in pretty bad pain. I wanted to rush over here to help her.” Mrs. Wilson took Lydia into her arms and said, “Lydia sweetie lets go inside and grab some medicine and some hot tea okay?” Lydia nodded and turned towards Trevor and said, “Thanks for tonight. I’ll try to text you later.” Trevor nodded and watched as they all went inside. Trevor go into his car and went home. When he got home he rushed upstairs and took a shower himself and couldn’t help but worry about Lydia. He got out of the bathroom and put some pajama pants on and laid on his bed with his cell phone. He looked up Lydia and was debating on rather or not to check up on her or not. “Hey, just wanted to check up and see how you are feeling now,” he sent to her. He waited for a while but no response he guessed she had falling asleep due to her pain medicine so he would see her at school tomorrow anyway so he went to sleep himself.
