A few months later, at the southernmost tip of the Mountain and Sea Continent, the Merfolk Realm.
Compared to the northernmost Wolf Realm and the Central Plains where the human race lived, the weather in the southern continent can be described as steamy and fiery, and it was as hot as a steamer.
Merfolk Realm was the most prosperous nation on the southern continent. It was surrounded by the sea on three sides, and different ethnic groups lived there. The local culture was open, and you could see various unique costumes on the streets.
Pearl Street was the most prosperous street in Merfolk Realm. It is incredibly spacious and can accommodate eight carriages at once. On both sides of the street, there were many stores and countless restaurants and inns.
The Fortunes Restaurant was the largest and most luxurious on Pearl Street.
Next to the Fortunes Restaurant stood a small tavern. In this rustic tavern, a silver-haired man, arms around, leaning against the window frame, a fitted white garment accentuates his tall and slender figure even more. His handsome face exudes an aura that warns others to keep their distance, which people do not dare to approach like the cold snow from the north.
Outside the window was a lush green tree with branches full of white flowers. The man appeared to be gazing at the flowers, but his indifferent eyes were filled with bewilderment. His mind was blank about his past.
Meanwhile, across from the tavern, in a hidden alley, Sofia wore a tea-white fitted gauze dress draped with a wide-sleeved sheer overlay in the same colour on her shoulders. Her slender waist, cinched with a pearl belt, was delicate, while her long black hair was meticulously styled into a floral crown bun, making her breathtakingly beautiful.
Emir, held in her arms, had grown quite a bit since three months ago at the Misty Valley. He was rosy and plump, radiating a milky fragrance like a soft, fluffy bun. However, the two fluffy white wolf ears on his head had yet to disappear. Fortunately, there were many different clans in the Merfolk Realm with various appearances, so it didn't seem out of place or strange; he no longer needed to wear a hat to cover them.
The southern weather was hot, and Sofia had dressed the child in a light blue bellyband. Even so, Emir was sweating, his chubby little face flushed red.
The streets were bustling with vibrant sights, overwhelming to the eye, but curious little Emir could only focus on his aunt standing across the way, his big, dark eyes filled with unfamiliarity and wonder.
Lilia was dressed in a tight black outfit, her head covered with a black scarf, and her thick silver hair dyed a pale blue. In her hand, she held a gleaming curved dagger.
Lilia was bundled up so tightly that she could barely catch her breath, drenched in sweat as she glared at Sofia, 'You look beautiful, but you don't care about my well-being at all! It's scorching hot here, and you made me dress like this! We wolves come from a cold land and can't stand the heat!
Sofia replied confidently, "I dressed beautifully to attract your brother, and you're dressed like this for him too, right? Besides, I only told you to cover up. Why dye your hair?"
Lilia countered, "There are plenty of people dyeing their hair in the streets of the Merfolk Realm, I'm not the only one. Plus, I'm worried my brother will recognize me later!"
"Fine," Sofia sighed lightly. She then carefully peered out of the alley towards the tavern, returning to remind Lilia, "When I run into the tavern holding Emir, you chase after us with the dagger. Try to look fierce. As soon as your brother makes a move, you retreat, got it? Don't let it escalate into a real fight; that would be a mess."
"Got it, stop nagging. You've said it several times already," Lilia said, adjusting her black scarf so that only her bright black eyes were visible. She gripped the dagger, ready to go, but suddenly looked worried. "A hero saving a beauty needs the hero to volunteer, right? What if my brother doesn't want to? What if he doesn't want to save you two?"
Sofia hadn't considered this possibility. She paused, and then her stunningly beautiful face turned cold as ice,"Then he can just wait to die again."
Lilia, "……"
