I should’ve been panicking by now. Should’ve been wondering what the hell I was doing... lying here, cradled in the arms of a man who made my heart forget how to function properly. A man I’d spent too long trying to pretend didn’t affect me the way he did. But instead... I just lay there. Listening to the slow, quiet rhythm of his breathing behind me, and wondering if maybe...for once...it was okay to feel safe.
Liam hadn’t let go since I told him everything, we just changed position. Everything. The truth I’d buried so deep inside my bones I almost didn’t recognize it anymore. About the trauma.
