Jax POV

"That's great you found your mate!!! now you can head back home and take over as Alpha!" Mark said over the phone.

" yeah not quite.. she's human." I said in almost a whisper but I know he heard me.

" Human?! Are you sure?"

" Yeah I think so. she didn't pick up on the mate Bond so I'm assuming she's human."

"Hmm.. what can I do to help?" Mark asked, seeming to want to move this along as soon as possible.

" do you think you could head here ASAP, I could use a wingman for this. I don't want to scare her away. I need to play this right."

Mark may not know a lot about human and werewolf mates but I know he will be able to do some background investigating for me and help me.

" Yeah Man! I'll pack some stuff and head to you. I can be there by late afternoon, sound good?

I took a deep breath and let it out slowly.

" Yes, thanks for this! I'll send you my address."

" Cool, see you soon brother!"

I pulled up to my apartment, shut off the truck and headed inside. As I walked into the kitchen I could hear moaning and grunting coming from down the hall.

"Sounds like Ryan has company over."

Max scoffs in my head.

I grab a bottle of water from the fridge and walk down the hall twords my bedroom. Just as I was passing Ryan's door it swings open and a blond girl walks out with a white bed sheet draped around her.

She stops and looks up at me and bites her bottom lip while clearly eye f**king me. I internally cringe as I bring the bottle of water to my mouth to drink.

I then hear Ryan yell from inside the room.

"Is that Jax?"

" Yeah Man!" I yell back.

" Can you meet me in the living room in a few minutes?"

" sure." I say looking back at the blonde who is looking at me with a creepy grin on her face.

I quickly turn away and head to my bedroom.

I shut the door behind me and take a deep breath trying to calm my nerves. I sit on the edge of my bed and my mind goes right to my mate. "Macy" I whisper to myself.

My mind flashes images of her walking out of her car. Her full lushes a** in those black leggings begging for my hand to give it a good squeeze.

And her scent so intoxicating I could live in that scent forever. My jeans start to get a bit uncomfortable as my c**k starts to swell. I take a deep breath and try to shake all the dirty images out of my mind.

I take a few big gulps of water and head out of my bedroom. As I enter the living room I'm greeted by the blonde standing in the center of the room with a small tight skirt and a crop top.

She looks over at me and smiles.

" Hi my name is Brandy, what's yours?" she says, swaying her hips as she walks in my direction.

" not interested." I say dryly, as I walk around her and head for the couch.

I hear her scoff and she says. " wow that's rude."

" what's rude?" Randy interjects as he walks into the living room.

" your roommate is rude. I just introduced myself and he assumed I was hitting on him."

I took a deep breath as I lay my head onto the back of the couch with my arms spread wide and resting along the back. Ryan looked at me and then back at the blonde and chuckled.

" I thought you were leaving?" Ryan said to Brandy.

" I was but I figured I would introduce myself to your roommate being that I may run into him here every now and then."

Ryan looks amused. He starts to laugh. "oh Brandy, you won't be coming back here hun."

"what? why?!" she says placing her hand on her hip.

" I got what I wanted. and it's obvious Jax is not looking for a taste. So we won't be seeing each other again."

Her mouth hangs open looking at Ryan and I can't help but snicker.

Brandy looks between the both of us and she looks like she's going to explode.

" A**holes!!!!" she yells as she storms out the front door.

" B***hes be crazy!" Ryan says, as he sits in the chair across from me.

"So what's up? You wanted to talk?"

" Yeah.. so.. I'm gonna need you to move out by the end of the month. My original roommate is coming back. He was living with his family for a while taking care of family stuff, but he told me he is heading back. Since he is on the lease you got to go."

I lean forward with my elbows on my knees and my hands massaging my temples.

" Okayyyy.." I said in frustration.

" Sorry man, I didn't know when he was going to be heading back. I hate to do this to ya."

" Yeah I bet." I said in a cold tone.

" Well it looks like I have some things I need to work out. We done here?" I say, clearly annoyed with this situation.

" Yeah, sorry again Bro." he says as he gets up and heads for the door.

This is the last thing I needed right now. Why is all this happening right now.

"Maybe our Beta can help. possibly get a place with him for the time being." Max says trying to offer a solution.

"I dont know Max, it feels like time is working agains us."

Mark will be here in a few hours. I'm sure he will help sort this crap out.

I head back to my room I need a nap and try to put all this stress to rest for right now.

I don't know when I fell asleep but I was jolted awake by the sound of my phone ringing. I jump out of bed and grab my phone. looking at the caller ID, it's Mark.

" Hello?"

" Hey brother! I think I'm in front of your place."

Macy POV

I'm sitting at my desk in my basement on the computer when I hear the metal storm doors to my basement open. I hear Tim and Blake talking to each other as they walk in.

" Hey guys!" I say as I swivel around to look at Blake and Tim as they take a seat on my couch.

"What's up Macy!" Blake says reaching into his coat pocket and pulling out a pre-rolled blunt.

" Not much just chillin. How was the close at work?" I ask Blake as I toss him a lighter.

" The usual. I heard Andrea hired some new guy yesterday and word on the street is his first day is with you tomorrow night." he says, wagging his eyebrows at me.

I roll my eyes and turn back to the computer to find some music to play while we smoke.

" yeah I'm not too thrilled! Andrea keeps hiring a bunch of good looking idiots and it's driving me up a wall." I bite out.

"HEY!" Tim wines.

Tim was the only good hire she did have since being the manager.

" Except you Tim! At least you have some brains behind that handsome face!" I say, with a big cheesy smile.

" Aww thanks Mace!"

I sit back and giggled at Tim as I take a hit off the blunt, Blake passed to me.

The night went on like it usually does. We smoked, played a few rounds of pool, and Tim grabbed my guitar and would play a few songs. Our typical team meeting. As the night was coming to a close the guys grabbed their stuff and headed to the basement door.

" we're both off work tomorrow night do you want us to come and visit you at work?" Blake asked.

" No you don't have to do that it's all good I got this." I say, waving him off.

" all right Macy have a good night we will talk to you tomorrow." Tim says, giving me a hug.

" Bye guys drive safe."

As the guys exited I walked up the short stairs that leed to the storm door the guys just exited from. Looking out into the cool night sky the moon is high in the sky. I stop and stared at it like I always do when is see it. Then out of the corner of my eye I could have sworn I saw something move in the far tree line. I squint trying to see if anything was in the woods in the backyard but I couldn't see anything. I Shrug and close the storm door and lock it behind me. I walk to my room put on a pair of shorts and a long t-shirt and crawled into bed.
