"So Valkyrie, tell me something about yourself"
Excuse me.
How do I respond to that!?
"Umm"
Why was she acting like this. Get a grip woman! You're a fierce assassin of the night. You are shadows themselves, a cold hearted killer. And you're stuttering!?
"I don't have much to tell about myself. I am an assassin. That's about it" God she couldn't even look at him. Why did he make her feel a little flustered? She never got flustered. Looking into his green eyes just made it all worse.
The walk here was incredibly awkward and when they left the pack house and she noticed it was quite literally pissing it down, she could have laughed at the timing. Stupid stupid stupid!
She saw her top getting more and more see-through, noticing it exposing her less than sexy chest wrap. It was practical and she didn't pack anything else. She saw the men's looks at her, at the Alpha's eyes practically burning holes in her side. She loved the attention from him, without even knowing why. But she wished she had more appropriate attire. Had she known the soon to be Alpha was this sexy, she'd have brought her black lingerie. HA! Yeah right.
"I know that's not true" His eyes were burning into me. She stared him down in the silent challenge. Noticing him quickly change ghe subject, he said instead "how about your favourite colour?"
"Alright, seen as it seems you won't let me drink and stuff my face in silence, Green. Not a vibrant green, but a deep forest green" She replied honestly, slightly embarrassed for some reason. Without waiting for a response, she picked the huge piece of chocolate cake up and took a massive bite. It caused her cheeks to bulge as she chewed. Somehow, that was less embarrassing.
"That's beautiful" He responded, but the way he was looking at her, she had a feeling he wasn't talking about her answer of Green.
After swallowing the cake, which took a bit more effort than should have been necessary, she looked him over and asked him the same question back. She was genuinely curious.
"Blue. All shades really, but I favour that pastel blue. Like the sky when it's clear of clouds and the middle of summer or the one's on those little blue flowers, whatever they are called". Nodding her head, she smirked and said, "Forget me nots?" They were her mums favourite flowers. Nope. Not gonna think about mum. Pushing that nonsense deep deep down.
"Yes! Them little things. They grow everywhere here. Someone planted seeds years ago and now they have spread all over the place. They're nice".
Awh, he's soft. He's all hard, muscular s*x on legs exterior but clearly inside he's soft. I wish I was like that, I wonder if he could make me like that.
She was never able to make friends, never able to k****e a relationship of any kind after Jacob Traps. He ruined everything in her, tarnished any nice thing about her before it had even had time to develop. Only these 4 years of solitude had made her develop manners and any sense of socialising.
She looked at the beautiful man before her, who was now drinking his coffee silently and looking towards the shop windows. His strong jaw line, his stubble beginning to grow a little longer overnight it seems. He was princely but rough in his appearance also. He was wearing a casual black top that revealed strong, toned arms covered in tattoos. She couldn't make out most of them, mainly black in colour, but she could see a snake just slightly wrapping from his elbow towards his shoulder, sneaking up and under his shirt sleeve out of view. She wanted to discover where it went. His dark blue cargo pants and black boots stretched out, ankles crossed over one another. The epitome of relaxation at it's finest.
Oh god. She was attracted to him. Why did she feel this way, after so long? It scared her, though she wouldn't show him that.
After a moment of checking him out, she looked back up, not even trying to hide the fact she was doing it and yep, she was caught. He was pinning her in place with his eyes, a wide sexy side smirk on his face.
"Like what you see?" He responded, wiggling his eyebrows at her, straight desire in his eyes. He wanted her too.
You know what, f**k it. If all goes well at the meeting tomorrow and depending on what they say - If she has to stay a while, she will take it upon herself to give it a try.
Making the silent promise to herself to give happiness a try and willing herself to ignore the loud angry warning alarms going off in her head, warning her of Traps.
"I'm not very good at this" She said, pointing back and forth over the table. "I haven't had a relationship since I was 16. I haven't had a true friend in just as long since. If I remain here long enough, I will make it my effort to try.."
Before Damon had the chance to reply, utterly embarrassed and hiding the rising blush to her face, she chucked a few soggy notes onto the table and near enough bolted out the cafe.
Before heading back to her cabin, she hung about in the rain by the side of the café and melted into the shadows. Despite her attire, she has done this type of thing many times observing clients day to day routines. She waited 2 agonisingly long minutes until Alpha Damon strolled out the door and headed back in the direction of his home.
After she was sure he was gone, she headed to the clothing shops and got enough clothes to last her a few days extra. She'd get more if needed later. Having had enough of interactions for one day, she quickly made her way back to her small cabin, through the woods this time. Just in case.
