Chapter 1
"Makayla!"
"Makayla!.....it is not what you think!"
"SHUT UP FIN!!.... Do you take me for a fool? Do you think that I am blind!!"
"How long?" she asks. Trying to restrain herself as tears filled up her eyes.
"How long!? How long have you been f*****g her behind my back, Fin!?" she screamed, trying to hold back tears from her eyes.
Fin looked at her with regret and pain. Refusing to answer her question, knowing full well that the answer he had would hurt her more.
Not believing the betrayal of her love, she screamed, "I have given you the best years of my life! And this is how you repay?!". She felt a tightening in her chest and could not believe that the love of her life cheated on her. Cheated on her with someone who isn't even half of the woman she is.
"God....why do I have to be such a fool! They told me you weren't faithful! But I.....I chose to trust you...."
"I am done being a fool!" Fin drops to his knees and begs. "Em, I'm sorry...please babe...it..it was a moment of weakness...please..."
"No! Fin! No! You don't get to cry and pretend to regret what you did. When you obviously could not stop yourself from the beginning."
His actions finally caught up with him and it came at a price. A price he wasn't willing to pay.
Never did he think that what he did would hurt his love like that.
The sun rose and it was a beautiful morning. Coffee in hand, bustling through the streets of Goldrock trying to beat the traffic to reach work on time. "Hey Makayla. It is a beautiful morning today", Russel, the doorman of our building, with our usual greeting. "Good morning Russel, it is indeed a beautiful morning. Thank you". I greeted him back, stepping into the building, rushing to my desk. It has been 2 years, two years since my engagement with Fin ended.
I admit, at first it was hard. For the first few days, it felt like the world caved in on me. It was hard to wake up every day knowing that the one person that was meant to love you was the one person that hurt you the most. I don't even remember how I made it this far. I was just trying to get by, putting one foot in front of the other.
The past year has been a blur. I don't know how I made it this far.
The trauma of what I went through is still fresh in my head with the promise I made to myself, that no longer will I be dependent on a man.
Sebastian POV
Sebastian was on his way to work early in the morning. He works for the most notorious billionaire in Gold Rock City. As his personal assistant, he is aware of all the intricate details regarding his boss and this is also the main reason why he is still single, even at the age of 30.
