The first guard steps forward and scans me head to toe with disgust in his eyes, and I’m sure it’s not totally due to the mud that’s caked all over my body. “I still don’t believe a word that comes out of your deceitful little mouth,” he mutters under his breath, “But your father will want to hear what you have to say.
