Chapter 27- Yorkshire and its beauty

            Next day when I woke up Dani was already in shower probably after his real workout. I wanted to shower first but changed my mind and decided to prepare coffee and surprise Dani when he is out of shower. I quickly slipped out of the bed and without making any noise went down to the kitchen. Quickly took some eggs and started to prepare an egg sandwich. After around 10 minutes I have prepared egg sandwich along with my favourite coffee with extra cream. I placed everything on a tray and took it to the bedroom. When I entered Dani was already changed and was on phone. He was facing other side and didn’t notice me coming. So, silently I placed the tray on the table and slipped into the washroom.

            I took quick shower and came out in my bath robe to find my sweet husband waiting for me without even touching the food. I went to him and was going to sit beside him when he pulled me on to his lap. He pecked my lips softly with his lips.

“Good morning dear. How was the workout yesterday? Want to repeat the same today? You are really trying to seduce me.” He flirted with me and I could see his eyes filled with lust.

I slipped away from his grip and said.

“No way Dani, I don’t want to miss a chance to visit the famous historical county of Yorkshire. I have always read about it but never knew one day I will get the chance to visit here. So be a good boy and taste it. Why didn’t you eat it? It would be cold now. Just give me a second. I will just microwave it.”

“I will do it. You go and change.” And he took the tray and walked out of the room.       

I quikly changed into a pair of jeans and a blue blouse. I chose not to wear makeup. I just applied some lip gloss, took a hat and my bag and went downstairs. Dani already was seated and having his breakfast. When he saw me he apologised

“I am sorry dear. I didn’t wait for you. I wanted to taste my first breakfast made by my lovely wife. Come on have a seat.” he gestured to his lap. Giving him a warning with my eyes I went around the table and sit across to him.

“So, how is it? Does it taste good?” I am eager to know how he felt,

“Delicious just like you.” His words brought a smile on my face. I took a sand witch and tasted it. I spitted out in the plate itself. I forgot to put salt in it and it’s really bad. My first preparation for my husband is so worse. I was just careless. Here stands the man who does everything to make me happy and I am not capable to prepare a simple meal for him. Shame on you Ria. But why didn’t he say the truth. He enjoyed it as it is the most delicious thing in this world.   

“Why didn’t you say the truth Dani? I asked

“I never lie. I have told you the truth. For me it’s the most delicious thing in the world because you made it. I could get your love and care in every bite.” I am overwhelmed by his words. I am already falling for this man and this makes me happier to be his woman.

            After having our food we went outside and the driver was already waiting for us. We got on to the car and started our journey.

“Where are we going?” I wanted to know as I have searched already on the internet about the place. Yorkshire being the largest county of England is a place of historic importance.

“Well Yorkshire is a place which should be explored by walking through it. So driver will take us to the Shambles. From there we will explore all by ourselves until we are exhausted” he made clear about the tour.

“Sounds great, I am excited.” I said joyfully.

“Well you aren’t coming here for the first time. Right?” I doubted.

“No, I am not. But I am going to explore the county for the first time. I have visited here before for business purposes but never got the chance to enjoy the historic beauty.

            After half an hour drive driver dropped us at the Shambles which is a street which ages back to 14th century. There are lot of building which reminds of the old architecture. Overhanging timber-framed buildings are the main attraction. We walked through the streets holding hands. I love to walk when he is holding my hand. I am ready to walk for the entire life if he is there to hold my hand like this. Then we visited York Minster which is the Cathedral and Metropolitan Church of Saint Peter in York and it is the largest of its kind in the kingdom. We spent some time there and took part in the prayers as it is open for all. By the time we left the York Minster it was three in the afternoon. We were hungry and went to grab some food.

            After that we went to visit York City Walls which are also called as The Bar Walls or The Roman Walls. The walls were around 13 feet high and 6 feet wide. Then we wandered through the streets of York until we got exhausted. So, Dani called our driver and send him our location. Within fifteen minutes car came and we returned to the villa with the hope to come back tomorrow to explore more parts of the county. 

            We already bought the food as we both were not in a state to cook anything. Moreover I didn’t want to cook after what happened in the morning. After getting back Dani asked me whether I would like to soak myself in the pool. I agreed as I wanted to relax my muscles after such a long journey.

            Water in pool was warmer than I expected. We lay down in the pool for a long time then got ourselves out to prepare for the next day.

            Next day when I woke up Dani was not in the room. I got to the washroom and did my morning necessities. Then I went down and saw Dani speaking to a middle aged woman. Seeing me Dani said

“Ria, this is Sarah, our housekeeper. She is the one I was talking about.”

Sarah greeted me with a bow. I smiled at her and returned her greeting.

“Okay, Sarah you can make breakfast by the time we get ready.” Dani said.

“Would you like to have anything special sir?” Sarah asked looking both of us.

“Anything is Okay for me. Ria, do you want anything particular.” Dani looked me questioningly.

“I am Okay with anything. Prepare whatever you like Sarah. Don’t make it too heavy. Keep it light.” I said and she nodded.

By the time we got ready Sarah had prepared typical English breakfast. I should admit it that she is a good cook. After having breakfast we got ready to leave for exploring more of Yorkshire. Then I remembered something and told Sarah.

“Sarah, could you please give the dirty dresses up there in the room to the laundry service. There are two sets of each or our dresses.”

“Sure ma’am, I will do it.” She said.

“By the way call me Hazel.” And I left to join Dani in the car. Driver dropped us in front of the National Railway Museum. The museum is an important part of the science museum group. A person visiting the museum will understand how, when and where railway developed in Britain and what role railway played in the history of England. The museum consists of a collection of old train engines to the newest one.

            After that we went to the Jorvik Viking Centre which is another museum in York. Museum consists of realistic mannequins and huge sized dioramas symbolizing the Viking life of York. Small carriages took us through the dioramas and audio descriptions were given in front of each diorama.

After the two visits we went to have our lunch. We relaxed for a while having our lunch. After lunch we decided to go to York Castle. It took around three hours to take a tour of the entire complex. It had castles; prisons, law courts and other buildings which were build in different centuries. It was fortified to prevent from collapsing. By the time we reached our car whuch was waiting for us outside the castle as Dani had told the driver to come, we both were tired. I just wanted to fall asleep.

When we reached the villa Sarah was waiting for us. She informed that she had prepared the dinner and will come back tomorrow morning. I took a quick shower and was going to sleep when Dani came and pulled me out of the room.

“No dear, please I want to sleep. I am so tired.” I pulled back.

“Honey, come with me. I am going to experience you with the most beautiful ambience you could ever dine in.” he then pulled out a blind fold and tied my eyes. He held my hand tightly and led me to that place. I could feel the cold breeze on my face. He then took off my blind fold.

A table is set facing the sea. Illumination lights hanged around the table making it more beautiful. Heavy breeze is blowing making me cold. All of a sudden Dani tugged me with his coat. Then he kneeled in front of me like he is going to propose to me. But we are already married. If he had done this before marriage I would be in the seventh sky.

“Mrs. Hazel Maria Daniel Cooper, would you like to be my date.” He pulled out a small jewellery box and opened it as if he is proposing.

“Yes, a big yes. I would like to be your date for the whole life and for the coming lives if there is any.” I extended my hand to him and he put the ring on my finger.

 “Ria, I wanted to give you this ring on our wedding day. But as per the family tradition I couldn’t. I have specially designed this ring for you.” And he put the ring on my ring finger and it fitted me well. My wedding ring is loose and so I have to keep it in my bag so that I won’t lose it. He put the ring in the same finger where he put the wedding ring.

“How did you know my size?”I wondered.

He smiled at me and led me to the table where dinner was already set up with glasses of wine.   

It’s the last day in Yorkshire and we have visited many places but still we couldn’t cover the entire county. Dani promised me that he will bring me back someday and then we could explore the entire county. In these days we visited the national parks and Sherwood forests. Then we have visited ‘The Deep’ which is a public aquarium, Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal Water Garden, Brimham Rocks and many more places.

Sarah was a great help during our stay. She was really a humble lady. She and her family lives at a small distance from the villa. So, we decided to make her the caretaker of the villa and give her the responsibility to rent the place. She was so happy when she heard this and never stopped thanking us until we left the villa for our next destination.

“Where are we going now?” I am anxious to know so I asked him.

“London.” He said.

“What? We came from there” I said.

“Well we didn’t enjoy are days there as we had to work to save the business. Moreover Uncle Henry is furious that we went to Uncle Wilson and not him. So to compensate we have to go to their place and might be stay there for one or two days.” He explained.

“So, how long are we going to stay in London?” I again asked

“One week”
