Kieran Arnell. After freshening up and getting dressed, I went down to the living room area before turning in the direction of the dining from where I was I could smell that breakfast had been served, and there was no one around but May who was standing by the table when I arrived. It seemed like she had just served breakfast, she could always tell when I was about to get down for breakfast with her senses, when she saw me she looked at me admirably and then smiling she said, “You look very good, Kieran.” Smiling back at May, I stopped in my tracks and opened my arms, then I turned around so she could see me and my outfit properly. I had taken my time to dress nicely in grey slacks, a grey knitted sleeveless shirt, and mules for the fight, for Dawn. “Thank you, thank you, you know I have to look good when going out for events.” She laughed at what I said and said, "If you say so, Kieran." May never stayed around for breakfast except if she had something to say, so I walked toward the dining area As I got closer I saw that her plump cherub-like face looked a bit sad and I knew there was a problem. “Morning, May. You look worried.” I said with my eyes on her as I walked to the sink in the dining and washed my hands before walking to my seat. Giving me a little smile, she nodded and then sat on the chair in the dining that was closest to me, “Morning Kieran. Yes, I am, I am just worried about Dawn.” Frowning a bit as I sat down in the dining, I looked at her and asked, “Why?” “Earlier on this morning, she was awake so doubt that she got enough sleep and she did not even have breakfast before she left.” then after a pause she added, “she did not seem to be in high spirits, Kieran.” “I noticed that she came out around midnight and she was out early too,” then picking the glass of orange juice in front of me, I drank it, and said, “I will look out for her during the fight today so please don’t you be worried about anything.” After what I said, she looked a little better then after nodding stood up and walked away from the table. As I turned my attention to the omelets in front of me, I was about to dig in when May said, “I know you like her and that is why I had that dinner prepared for the both of you. She is very different and I am sure you can tell that too. Please look out for her, she is a very sweet girl.” Smiling at May, I said, “I knew you were setting us up.” She then laughed and her ease showed, “I was not trying to hide it. Hurry up, eat and get out of here. You should be at the arena.” Then she left the dining. Smiling at her back I continued eating my breakfast and I did so fast enough. I had the fight to catch up with. ****** I would have gone with the car but after second thought I took the bike and followed a short cut from my estate to the arena. After today’s fight, I was going to make sure I showed Dawn this way while we ride home on the bike. When I got to the arena, I noticed that there was a massive turnout at this particular fight. The annual fight contests were usually done for fun and even though everyone was invited, the turnout was not usually this great. The only fight contests that had great turnouts were the contests that were done when it is time to pick a new alpha, the inter pack contests, and the contests at the end of the year which were done to celebrate a new year. But even though this one is happening in the middle of the year, the turnout was really impressive and I had a feeling it had something to do with Dawn’s involvement. Everyone wanted to see what kind of wolf she was, they still called her “the white haired newcomer”. I did not always attend but I would not miss this particular contest for anything. As I walked to my booth, I waved as I heard cheers from the members of the pack present at the arena and the cheers increased when my face was put on the large cam at the arena with the announcement of my being present. Joe and Hera were already seated when I got into the booth and their reaction to what I was wearing was as I had expected. “When last did I see you look this good? And in bright colored clothing too.” Hera said looking at me up and down. “The last time he was with a woman, that is when.” Joe said as he gave me a ‘Your outfit is to die for look. Joe stood up and curtsied as I sat down on the seat situated between the seats for Joe and Hera. It was reserved for me, the alpha. “Your highness,” he said, Hera rolled her eyes at him and turned to me with a smile, “Are you ready to see how far your protegee has come?” “I am sure he is,” Joe answered before Kieran could answer “Dawn is a lot of things but she’s not my protegee,” I said “A lot of things huh? Like a love interest? ” Joe said with a mischievous glint in his eyes which made me to give him a warning look and had Hera laughing. Smiling at my reaction, he then got into his seat then he turned to me, and said, “Hera told me that she told you the 411.” “Yeah, she did, after we spoke about it I had some thinking to do but I am here, there is no need to panic. Did you find out any other thing?” “Yes sir." he answered smiling at me, " but no I have not heard any thing else and at this point, I just want to see how the contest goes,” Joe said, turning his attention to the open field in the arena. “How about you?” I asked Hera, “Same thing with Joe, but I have a feeling that Cara only enrolled to know how much of a threat Dawn is to her.” “That is what I thought too. I know Cara can be a problem but after the talk, I had with her the last time she tried to physically harm that lady, she was terrified and I know she would not want to do anything that is going to get her in trouble. Instead, she might try to demean Dawn.” Then turning my attention to the field, I said, “I have my eyes on her so her every step will be under scrutiny and if I have to use the alpha command on her, I will.” Dawn Daniels I heard the cheers before the fight started, and I was beginning to feel anxious. I was up to fight in a few minutes and I had sweaty palms but the moment the first set of fighters were called, I felt calm. It had started. I was not about to let fear overwhelm me, “Are you okay? you look pale, Dawn. That is your name, right? Dawn?” I turned to see Cara looking down at me with an unreadable expression but I could sense her aura and I did not like it so I just gave her a simple answer, “Yes, my name is Dawn.” Then I stood up from my seat and walked away from her, making it clear that I did not want to be around her. I had not stood up for long when I was called to get prepared to fight, I wonder who I was paired with but I felt sorry for that person because I was filled with so much adrenaline. I had trained with Darius. I trained with Hera. I trained with Joe too sometimes. I was dangerous to any one I was fighting with. And I knew it.
