The fight. 3.

Dawn Daniels. I was directed to stand by the end of the passage that leads to the open field, as I walked to the end of the passage I said a prayer of thanksgiving and a prayer for protection and strength all to the goddess. The moment I got there I took a deep breath, I was very calm as I got prepared to be called out then I heard my name being called out loudly, “Dawn Daniels! The White Haired New comer!” As I heard my name, I could feel the excitement and my wolf could feel it too, "It is time for us." Silver said to me, the cheers from the spectators who were out there fueled us but we did not lose focus instead it sharpened our focus. The moment I stepped out and walked towards the center, I heard cheers and I saw lights, it was beautiful and it gave me an exhilarating feeling. My wolf was sharp and I could hear different screams, some were calling me by my name and the others were calling me the other names they had dubbed me. Getting to the center of the field, I stopped and faced the front, where the alphas booth was and then I bent and curtseyed to give him a greeting nod before finally raising my head, smiling as I waved. It was nice to be in front of such a happy crowd. Then I looked at the alpha’s booth properly for the first time, Hera and Joe were seated right beside him, they were smiling at me, and I smiled back at them. Then I took my attention away from them and then looked at Kieran, and at that moment I saw him smile and wink at me. I immediately looked away, hoping no one saw that and hoping they did not notice I was blushing because of that. Then looking away from him I stood and waited as the other opponent was called out, “Gavin Salt! The destroyer!" My opponent walked out of the passage and there was a roar from him. He was very big in size and I could smell his wolf, it was ready to fight, he did not smile as he bowed to the alpha and he had a strong presence. The people cheered him and he just nodded and gave a little smile, I wanted to know the kind of person my opponent is so I immediately listened to his heart beat and I could tell he was at ease, he was a proud man who was confident in his abilities. He was not scared of me. That was good, I thought, he was underestimating me. Then the hall then got quiet, I looked up and around the field, and I noticed the big cam placed so the spectators could see all angles of the fight. A whistle was blown, which meant for us to stand at the center of the field and face each other and immediately we heard it, we complied. The whole arena was silent, there was a lot of tension and anxiety from the spectators so it was deadly quiet then another whistle blew indicating the beginning of the fight. I stood before him, facing him, crouching and watching his every move. He was smiling at me and walking at his pace. Then in a split second he delivered a blow that I dodged, a blow I would have not been able to dodge if I was not this fast, then another which I dodged again, I noticed he was very fast and I wondered how the blows felt like, I also wondered if he was fighting at his best because it will suck if he was taking the fact that I was new into consideration. I wanted to know the extent of strength he was giving in this fight, so just to feel the intensity of his blows, I noticed when his fist aimed for my stomach, then I let him hit me. The blow shocked me, he was very strong, and I doubled over. My wolf, Silva began to scold me and I know she was right too. I heard the crowd gasp as that happened. That was my mistake, I let myself get too cocky. I did not waste any second as that happened, I immediately moved to the edge of the field at fast speed to gain my composure but he followed me and was there in seconds too, I moved again and he was there again. We were both moving at super speed to the edges of the field. Me running and him at my tail. He was not budging and I saw that he was smiling, he was getting cocky again. I did that for a few more seconds and then when I saw that he had gotten comfortable following my steps I surprised him and faced him instead of running again, then I smiled before I lifted my fist so using the same speed he had been using to chase me, he ran into my fist and passed out immediately. There was a roar from the formerly anxious crowd, and the commentator announced “That was a crazy performance from the white-haired new comer! Dawn wins this match!” I won the match. ****** Kieran Arnell I was impressed and I was definitely turned on, I had never seen her fight someone and as I watched her fight, I could never one of the reasons Darius never lost faith in her. She was a natural. “Yessss!” Hera screamed from her seat. Joe’s mouth was open the whole time and he did not speak for a few seconds. She had us anxious at a point but she had it all under control eventually and I watched as she extended her arm and supported the fighter who was on the floor, she showed very good sportsmanship. After the cheering, she waved and left the field. “What was that?” Joe exclaimed turning to me and Hera when he could finally talk. “That was a brilliant performance from my girl. I wish I could follow her to the changing room and give her a big hug.” “I did not doubt her for one bit but that was a crazy performance from the white haired new comer.” Joe said mimicking the commentators. Oof! that is why I put my money on her.” Joe said excitedly. Hera rolled her eyes at what Joe said even though she had also placed a bet on Dawn. We continued watching and Joe kept smiling with all his teeth as we watched the other matches of the first round. I, on the other hand, was thinking of what May had told me, provision for food and water was always made especially as fighters finished the different rounds but May had said she had felt like Dawn was in low spirits and even though I thought against it but the worry I was feeling was stronger than the reasonable part of my mind so I gave up any reasoning and mind linked Dawn for the first time ever. “How are you doing?” I asked her “I am fine. You saw my fight, what did you think about it?” She asked excitedly “I thought you were brilliant. When this is done, we are going to celebrate.” “I would love that, I haven’t seen you or spoken to you properly in a while.” Her saying that made me happy, she had also noticed our distance in the past few weeks. “Please you should just do it with ease, you’ll be fine. Okay?” “Okay, I will. Thank you, Kieran. I'll talk to you later, Kieran. Bye” Then we were done. I turned my attention back to the conversation Joe and Hera were having, they were talking about the fight that was going on now and when I looked I saw that it was none other than Cara. She was fighting another male werewolf and it was an interesting watch, they had both changed into their wolf form and even though she had never enrolled in any of these contests, I have always known her to be a strong werewolf. She beat her opponent quite badly and had a medical team coming in with a stretcher as she was announced the winner of the fight, she remained in her wolf form and howled to the cheering crowd. Before leaving the field, she turned and gave me a look that was blatantly flirty. The spectators noticed because, after the look she gave me, most of the spectators present started cheering and howling. She liked things like that. She loved the attention. I ignored it.
