Outcasts

Monday, Dawn Daniels Morning came faster than I had expected but I wasted no time getting dressed up and ready for the day, I also realized I needed to get new clothes but since I had clothes to wear today, that is something I will deal with later. I was ready and out of my room by 7:00 am. Immediately after coming out of my room and taking the stairs which lead down to the main living area, I notice the detailing in the interior design of the house, the design was so aesthetically pleasing and the materials used were amazing but even the beauty of the house’s interior could not distract me from how I was feeling... I wanted to apologize to Kieran for the way I had acted yesterday night, I was feeling very anxious about seeing him after the awkwardness but I had to face it to get past how I was feeling. “Is this early bird ready for breakfast?” “Do I have a choice?” I replied smiling at May who looked like a comforting sight for sore eyes standing by the hallway to the dining area with a smile on her cherub-looking face. “No darling, you don’t.” then she looked behind me and added. “And Neither do you, Alpha Kieran.” “I’ve spent enough years with you to know that.” Kieran replied then turned to me and added with a kind smile, “How was your night, Dawn?” “It was okay.” I said blushing furiously unable to look Kieran in the eyes, then adding immediately, “No, it wasn’t okay. I felt really bad before I went to bed and after I go up from bed this morning and I wanted to let you know that I’m sorry about how I acted yesterday.” “May please can you give me and Dawn a few minutes, we’ll be in the dining soon.” “Okay.” She replied loudly from the dining, I didn’t even notice when she left the hallway. “Dawn,” “Yes?” I said looking up at Kieran for the first time today, he looked very different in a suit. Serious. “Yesterday was awkward for both of us and I don’t want you to think it was all your fault. As much as I would like to train you, I can’t so that if you aren’t comfortable as a wolf. It is so much you need to learn and I have decided to have my head warrior, Hera train you at least till you get comfortable enough. I chose Hera because she is a female and even though she is a tough trainer, she knows when to be gentle and I think that is a great combination for you to start with. What do you think?” “I think that is a great idea. Thank you, Kieran.” “You’re welcome, Dawn. I told you I’m your friend and I meant it, so I want you to know that I have your best interests at heart.” He was very considerate about everything and I was so grateful. Then he added “Yesterday night I was going to mention the fact that I would be introducing you to a few people today but after the awkwardness, I couldn’t. Would you be fine with that? If it’s not convenient we can do that tomorrow.” “No, today is fine, I cannot wait to see others and also to see what the Rogue lands look like under daylight.” Giving me a smile and walking ahead of me, he said, “Great then! Now I think we should get to breakfast; Mays muffins are calling me and I would not want her to call us again.” “True, So that is what that delicious smell is? Hmmm Yum.” I said as I joined him and we both walked to the dining for breakfast. ****** As we walked out of the building, I let Kieran lead while I followed. I know I had mentioned the fact that Kieran looked different, serious but as I turn to look at him in his obviously tailored-to-fit pinstriped suit, he looked dangerous and I liked that. A growl from silver meant we both agreed even though I knew I had to do something about how Silver was reacting to Kieran before we had another awkward situation. We are greeted by two werewolves, a tall and attractive male werewolf, and an attractive short-haired female werewolf -she had raven-black hair and a mean look- as we get to the end of the entrance of the building which is flanked by palm trees. Motioning towards the taller werewolf he says “Dawn this is Joe, my beta …” turning to the smallish attractive shorthaired lady he says “…and this is Hera, head warrior of the Rogue lands.” Then he turned to them and said “This is Dawn Daniels, the newest member of our pack.” "Hello Dawn, Good morning." the werewolf, Hera greeted with the warmest smile. She did not look so mean anymore. “Hello, good morning, Hera. Kieran mentioned that you are my new trainer, and I look forward to training with you.” I replied, genuinely. "It is me who is looking forward to training you, I have never heard of anyone making our alpha sweat and I believe that is what you and your wolf did. I can tell that training with you is going to be exciting," “Good morning, and welcome, our white-haired newcomer. I hope you rested well?” Joe added with a smile and a glint in his eyes. “Yes, I did thank you,” I said laughing at the name I was given, I felt warm and at ease. After the greeting, we continued walking out, now towards the garage. I notice Kieran's eyes glaze over and I knew he was just mind-linking the werewolves, I wondered what he said to them. I follow him as he walks out and follows a path through the lawn, and stops at the entrance of the garage with Hera and Joe close behind us, "So I will be leaving you with Hera now, do you have any questions or problems with this arrangement?" "No, I don't. Have a great day, alpha Kieran." "You too." ****** After the introductions and all, Kieran and I went our separate ways, with me leaving with Hera and him leaving with Joe. “Your hair is very beautiful,” Hera commented as she started driving. “thank you, I also think yours is really nice, edgy.” “Right? Thank you, beautiful. If you ask around for the definition of edgy, someone will direct you to me.” She replied with a mischievous smile as she ran her hand through her short hair. As we rode, I kept my eyes out the car window not wanting to miss anything. The road was full and there was a bit of traffic which was expected considering the fact that it is a Monday morning, I kept taking it all in until I noticed someone trying to walk as they stared at me. As I looked away from the person’s stare to ignore it, I saw another person staring, this time blatantly and that was when I noticed a lot of werewolves were actually staring/looking at me from the sidewalks and their vehicles. In response to that, I sank into the car seat. I was feeling very anxious so I just looked straight ahead, purposely ignoring any stares. Hera must have felt my discomfort because she immediately took up the car windows and turned on the A.C. “You are quite a celebrity here, Dawn.” “I am?” How was that possible? I haven’t even been here for up to two days. “I don’t want it,” I added so quietly, that I wasn’t even sure I said it out loud. “I know it seems scary but believe me, it is not all that bad. There’s this thing alpha Kieran always says, we are never given more than we can handle.” “He told me that too,” I said. “How true is that? In all my years of being alive, I have never been able to handle my life situation. I know I am in a new place now and that allows me to start anew, I am grateful to Kieran for taking me in but I am not sure I know how to just take life by the horn.” “Darling everything you went through in your last pack is all in the past, you are special and I believe you have always been. As you said, it's time for you to begin anew, to show up for yourself!” “That’s right, it is all in the past but then how does one go from being an outcast to being a celebrity?” “Girl, we are all outcasts here! that’s why this is the rogue lands.” That’s true I thought I never would have seen myself being a celebrity amongst a group of rogues and outcasts but if there is one thing I have learned in the short time I left White moon pack, it’s the fact that life is full of surprises and anything can change at any time. Laughing I said, “Now that you say it like that…” “That’s the energy! I am super excited to train you.” “I am also very pumped about the training.” Then I remembered what had happened the day before, “Did Kieran tell you anything, like anything about yesterday?” “No, he didn’t,” Hera said, turning to look at me briefly before returning her gaze to the road. “Is there something I should know?” “Well, yeah. My wolf was acting very weird after I shifted yesterday and I can’t tell what exactly her reason was.” I said as I noticed the car slowing down in front of a very wide building structure. “here we are, our training spot,” Hera announced as the car stopped. Then she added, “Let’s go in Girl, so you can tell me everything when we are in.” “Okay,” I said as I looked at the building in front of me, I guess now is the time!
