Chapter 41
“Umm… I…” My breathing was shallow and my heart pounded loudly. I couldn’t form the words.
“What’s wrong?”
Sharwok turned to Daniel. “What’s going on?”
I swayed a little. I was light-headed and couldn’t get my breathing under control.
Daniel helped me to sit on the ground, which didn’t help because the dirt was what I needed to escape from. “She’s having a panic attack. She needs a moment.”
“That’s just great. That’s all we need. We need to hurry this up before someone sees us.”
“I know. Just hold on.” Daniel put his arms around me. He rubbed my back and the little circles calmed me.
I concentrated on the sensations running through me at his touch, as well as the Lightning’s buzz. After a few minutes, the symptoms subsided enough for me to stand. “Sorry.”
