Chapter 1: Empty
"Wake up, It's the first day of school!" Erin tried to wake the younger pair of the siblings. Alayah and Xavier groan, waking up for school isn't the ideal thing for these 10th graders.
"Breakfast will be ready in 10 minutes." Zeke yelled from the kitchen, stress in his voice visible but, ignored. The house smelled like French Toast and bacon, their favorite.
Alayah and Xavier arose from their beds, they sloppily got out of them. Their eyes drooped a little. Sleep was still overtaking them. They drifted off to different bathrooms to get ready for the day.
~In The Kitchen~
Zeke steadily prepare Xavier AND Alayah's favorite breakfast meal, French Toast with a SIDE of bacon. He was still tired, he had awoken at 4am this morning to get the kids' school stuff ready because that was his job. Wake up. Make sure the kids will have supplies for the day. Cook for EVERYONE.
Never take a break.
Never cry.
Never show your emotions, that's weak. At least, that's what his parents told him. His father always said 'men don't cry', his mother told him 'a princess never cries' every morning when he'd make breakfast. But, his parents were gone, they'd die about a year or so earlier. They were in the guardian department of the society of magic. They were killed in battle or something.
Now, Zeke didn't want to sound like a bad person or anything, but, really deep down he was kinda happy that his parents were gone. At least the part where they were damaging his mental health and sanity. He hated that s**t with a passion.
His morning routine also consists of him getting the mail. Which is mainly bills and advertisements. He still got it though, it was apart of his job. He hadn't got it today, not yet, at least. He was too busy packing school bags and making break-
wait, stop.....
IS THAT AN EXCUSE?!
No excuses, ever.
Zeke had to remember that or he'd fail at LIFE. He'd fail his siblings, he didn't want that. He was the only thing they had. Zeke had to be strong. He had to hide his feelings.
He had to feel....empty.
