**ADAM’S POV** The cracked lunar realm groans beneath my knees as it collapses piece by piece. The light that once held the world together flickers and dies. The air shivers with the sound of breaking crystal. Silver dust begins to fall from the sky in slow drifting spirals, soft as snow, bright as stars. It should be beautiful. It feels like a grave. I stare up at the place where the column of moonlight exploded open and swallowed her. The beam is gone now. The glow is gone. The air where she last stood is empty. Too empty.
