Karey's mind kept reeling back to the conversation she'd shared with William the previous day. The man's demands had been preposterous and ones she wouldn't fulfill. William truly didn't want her with her sister but he'd have to contend with them being together forever. Her love for Rain was endless and she wouldn't accept losing her lover again. A life without Rain was equivalent to being stranded out in a treacherous sea in a dark stormy night. A life so hopeless. An ordeal Karey couldn't even begin to fathom. And then there were the accusations William raised against Lawrence.
