Blurb

In a fractured kingdom on the brink of collapse, Isabel Starblood, a young woman cursed by her bloodline, discovers that she is the key to restoring a once-glorious realm. Born the bastard daughter of the last Wolf King and a forbidden priestess, Isabel’s destiny has always been shrouded in darkness. With the prophecy of the Blood Star hanging over her, she is forced to embrace the ancient power within her to unite the kingdom’s fractured clans.

When the ruthless Lord Regent Vorstag seizes the throne, Isabel finds herself thrust into a battle for the future of the kingdom. Armed with only her courage and a bloodline cursed by betrayal, she leads a rebellion to reclaim the throne and break the curse that has haunted her family for generations.

But the path to victory is fraught with danger—betrayal, war, and the weight of a past she cannot escape. As Isabel rises to power, she must prove herself not only as the rightful heir but as a leader who will unite the kingdom and forge a new future from the ashes of the past.

*The She-Wolf's Legacy* is a tale of strength, destiny, and the power of forging one's own path in a world that demands submission.

Chapter 1: Whispers in the Ashes
The Starscorch Plains lay beneath an oppressive blanket of night, the ground cracked and barren, a wasteland that whispered only of loss. A solitary figure moved across the desolate landscape, her steps careful but purposeful. Isabel's breath came in shallow gasps as she made her way toward the ruins of Starfall Abbey, the stone walls barely standing against the fierce winds. She paused, eyes trained on the crimson streaks slashing across the sky. The blood-red comet, the omen from her dreams, flared bright in the heavens. "Blood Star," she muttered under her breath, the name a haunting refrain. She glanced at the dark silhouette of the abbey ahead. Though she was born within its cold walls, she was never truly a part of it. A forbidden shifter—an abomination in the eyes of the Mother Superior. Her mind wandered back to the dreams, the nightmares that had plagued her for as long as she could remember. The vivid image of a wolf king's death cry, the sound echoing through her veins as if calling to her. "Isabel, you are unclean," the Mother Superior had always said, the words as sharp as the winter winds that cut through the barren plains. Isabel shivered as she reached the abbey gates. There was no warmth here, not even the kind she had once foolishly hoped for. Inside, the dim light of the candlelit hall flickered, casting eerie shadows on the stone walls. The smell of old incense mixed with the cold stone, creating an atmosphere that was more tomb than sanctuary. "Isabel, you're late," the stern voice of the Mother Superior echoed from the far corner of the room. Isabel's heart skipped a beat, but she didn't flinch. "Forgive me, Mother. I lost track of time," she replied, her voice steady despite the growing unease. She stepped closer to the hearth, where the embers of a dying fire crackled weakly. The Mother Superior, a tall woman draped in black robes, turned sharply to face her. Her face was a mask of stone, lips pressed in a thin line. "The prophecy is upon us. The Blood Star approaches," she intoned, her voice low but heavy with meaning. "And you, Isabel, are the key to it all." Isabel's stomach tightened. "What are you talking about?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. The Mother Superior's eyes darkened. "Do you not remember the tales? The prophecy that has plagued this land for centuries? 'Blood Star falls, Wolf King dies, She-Wolf rises.' Do you not see? You are the She-Wolf." A chill ran down Isabel's spine. She shook her head, confusion and fear coiling in her chest. "I'm just... me. I don't understand what you're saying." The Mother Superior's gaze hardened. "Of course, you don't. You've been kept in the dark all these years. But the truth will come to light, and you will be forced to face it." Suddenly, a voice broke through the heavy silence. "Mother, she doesn't know." Isabel froze. She recognized the voice instantly: Kainen Ironclaw, the Northshield Commander, a man with eyes like storm clouds and a presence that demanded attention. He stepped into the dim light of the hall, his armor clinking softly as he moved. Behind him, a group of battle-worn soldiers filed into the room, their eyes scanning the dimly lit space with quiet caution. The Mother Superior's face softened, but only for a moment. "Lord Kainen," she greeted him with an icy nod, her voice laced with reluctant respect. "What brings you here?" Kainen's gaze flicked to Isabel, then to the Mother Superior. "We seek answers," he said firmly. "Answers about the Kingblood Seal." Isabel's pulse quickened. She had heard rumors of the Seal, a mysterious relic said to hold the key to the Wolf Kingdom's survival. But what did it have to do with her? The Mother Superior stiffened, her eyes narrowing. "The Seal has been lost for years," she replied, her tone dismissive. "It is nothing more than a fable." Kainen's eyes hardened. "Perhaps. But I believe the key to finding it lies here, with her." Isabel felt the weight of his words settle over her like a heavy stone. "Me?" she asked, unable to keep the confusion from her voice. Kainen nodded, stepping closer. "The prophecy speaks of a She-Wolf—an outcast, a bastard with the blood of kings running through her veins. And I believe that you are the one we seek." Isabel's heart hammered in her chest. The prophecy, the blood-red comet, the death cry of the wolf king—it all made sense now, but in a way she wasn't ready to accept. She stepped back, her mind reeling. "No. You're wrong." But Kainen's gaze was unwavering. "You have the mark. The crimson birthmark on your brow. The same mark that matches the legend. You cannot hide from it, Isabel." The Mother Superior's expression was unreadable, but her eyes flickered with something between fear and recognition. "You must leave now," she said, her voice low and tense. "The Blood Star is rising, and there is no escaping it." Kainen's gaze never left Isabel. "You can deny it all you want, but your destiny is written in the stars. We leave at dawn. Prepare yourself, Isabel." Isabel's heart raced. Her world, once small and controlled, was slipping away from her grip, and in its place—something much larger, much darker—was waiting to claim her. ---
