CH. 24 - Cooperation?

The three hunters were still arguing. However, unlike before, Blitz was too silent. Only Lorenzo was the only man screaming in anger as he lectures Blitz. But these three did not know that the monster behind them was still alive, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike.

The cockroach monster still used the time the three have given as they argue. The monster's carcass slowly cracked like an egg. About to hatch or, in other words, unleash an even more terrifying being. A humanoid silhouette slowly emerged from the monster's carcass.

Marcus saw this and warned his two comrades, “Guys! There something weird coming out from the cockroach.”

The two stopped on what they were previously doing. Lorenzo and Blitz then gazed at the monster's dead body. And there, they saw a muscular human silhouette. When the body walked towards them, revealing its cockroach-like skin. And a terrifying insect head the same size as an adult human.

Marcus, Lorenzo, and Blitz prepared their weapons. Ready to fight for a second round against the insect. But as they look at the monster, they could feel something was different; it was the power given off by the beast. Lorenzo clicked his tongue and spoke, “you guys still have some steam left, right?”

“I can still use my cursed ability for only two minutes. So I don't know if that will be enough to fight longer.”

Blitz rolled his eyes before giving a reply, “I still have more than you two combined.”

“Show off,” Lorenzo replied to Blitz. “But that's good news. Cause you will be doing most of the work in this battle.” Lorenzo added to his previous statement.

Lorenzo then transitioned his gaze from Blitz to Marcus, “You, let's give the support that our main heavy damage dealer. You like playing games, Marcus?”

“Yes, I like MOBA's the most. ”

“Looks like we have the same taste, Marcus. Let's fight this monster like we were in a match. The enemy is about to come back, and the only main damage player left is Blitz. And his allies that are only left are us the tank and support.”

“Well, I have never imagined that you can still turn dying into something fun. But it's a great way to pin out my stress since I haven't played my MOBA for a long time!”

Lorenzo smiled back at Marcus after hearing his reply. “Glad to hear that, then let's fuckin!”

The three then charged towards the monster, who just stood idly. As the three reached the beast, all of them commenced their attack in unison.

Marcus, who was on the monster's side, swung Mister Sword towards the cockroach man. Lorenzo, on the other hand, appeared behind the beast and plunged his dagger. Meanwhile, Blitz did a frontal assault using his halberd by thrusting it towards the monster.

There was no escape for the monster, as all of the attacks were just two inches near. All of their attacks connected, which created an explosion, thanks to the three having superhuman-like strengths. The concrete walls' rubbles started a smokescreen after being destroyed by the explosions created by the four.

Clint and Rose witnessed everything above the opposite building. Both of them were impressed by the destructive power that the three created. However, this was also a disappointment for them as Clint scratch his head.

“Well, they do not lack power. However, this is just too destructive. The organization is not going to be happy with how much destruction these three newbies can create.”

Rose then interjected to Clint, “They're destructive, correct. But it looks like that was not enough.”

“Yep, that monster is still alive. Now let's what those three will do after seeing the attacks had all failed. However, we can have a checkmark on something.”

“And what is that, Clint?” Rose asked as she gazes at the three students afar.

“Their cooperation, however, if I were to grade it a one to one-hundred. I would give the cooperation of these three hunters a grade of seventy.”

“That's quite low; why is that, Clint?”

“Those three are not utilizing the full potential of their abilities. Marcus can control time for a short period while having a deadly weapon. Lorenzo can control nature and has different blessings from Gods and Goddesses. He even can use healing magic using his cursed weapon. And then there's Blitz. He has the highest offensive capabilities that could force any powerful enemy into submission. Thanks to his weapon being the same material as the Norse God of Thunder Thor's Hammer.”

Rose then looks towards Clint, with a shocked expression written on her face. “Wait a minute, Clint, are you saying those three have such cursed abilities.”

Clint looked at Rose and, with a grin, replied, “Surprised? That was also my first reaction after being tasked to handle those two. It looks like the organization is up to something. So that's why they have built a trio of hunters with incredible abilities.”

Rose then transitions her gaze back to the three hunters. After being shocked by the revelation of the three hunter's power. However, Rose asks one last question at Clint.

“Then Clint, can you defeat those three on your own?”

Clint smiled and replied, “currently, with their experience, I can. One on one, I also can defeat them. However, if those three will be allowed to have more time to grow. Then it would be easy for them to beat me. ”

The rubble smoke still covered the entire battlefield where the three hunters and the monster fought each other. But as the smoke slowly cleared, revealing the result of the all-out attack of the three newbie hunters.

Blitz, Marcus, and Lorenzo had their eyes widened. After witnessing the monster was unscathed from all of their attacks. The three were perplexed as they immediately back away from the beast.

“What the hell is this thing's problem. When I struck my sword, I thought I was hitting something made out of steel.” Marcus spoke as his arms shook. He could even feel his arms slowly turn numb.

“Looks like this guy is tougher than what we had expected. However, it still has a weakness.” Blitz spoke while pointing the pike part of his halberd at the beast.

Then the monster, out of nowhere, appeared behind the three of them. Marcus, Blitz, and Lorenzo froze as they immediately felt the presence of the beast behind them with a blink of an eye.

The monster raised its hand and struck Marcus. Gladly Blitz was able to block the attack but was forced to kneel. After using the iron rod part of his halberd to stop the attack.

“It's heavy and powerful; I could feel my arms numb after receiving that attack. What the hell is this? I can't even properly stand up. It's so heavy.” Blitz spoke as his knees created a c***k on the floor as the monster forced its full fist towards Blitz, who is already struggling to block its attack.

But Marcus and Lorenzo did not stand idly. They used the opportunity to strike towards the monster, who was preoccupied with Blitz.

Marcus swings his sword once again towards the monster's torso. *Swoosh* But like before, it was fruitless as Marcus' sword could not slice through. *Chiiiiing* Only the sound of metal hitting another metal reverberated in the air was the only thing Marcus got out of it.

Lorenzo also strikes as he appeared behind the monster and slashed his dagger to the beast's nape. However, like Marcus, his attack was unable to do anything. The cockroach-man skin was durable that it even rivals the most rigid steel.

After their strike, frustrated gestures started to appear in the faces of the hunters. It was safe to say that this was the most formidable enemy that these kids have faced.

But then something happened to Blitz. After seeing his comrades unable to deal any damage to the monster. Blitz screamed in anger, causing lighting to appear in his surroundings.

Blitz was able to rise again on his feet slowly after being pinned down by the monster. But Blitz then spoke with an outraged tone towards Marcus and Lorenzo, “You two are useless; where's all the talk you had Before!”

Clint and Rose felt the anger of Blitz from afar. Clint showed a smile after seeing the enraged Blitz. Rose, on the other hand, looked up at the sunny sky turned dark after Blitz became angry. It's like the beautiful sunny weather became angry all of a sudden.

“That's not a coincidence, Rose, now let's see how powerful is the weapon of the same material as Thor's hammer,” Clint spoke with a grin on his face.
