The Alpha finally grabbed at my cloak and pulled me to him, I put up no fight. "Care to explain yourself?" he said with a tone of anger. I put my had to his chest and slid it up to his neck and pulled his ear to my lips, "take your f*****g hands off me or you will know pain." He let go of me with a bit of a shock back, I continued my walking into the Gamma house.
~Alpha Thorn's P.O.V~
She did it again, that fiery spark, that feel that made my skin hot when she ran her hand up my neck. Was this the mate bond? She has made me feel like this, but shes so old? If I remember correctly she was with my father that night my mother went mute, I need to know what happened, and why she makes me feel like this, she looks like shes only about mid twenties but I KNOW she's older than that so we can't be mates right? I watched her go into the Gamma house, but this time I'm just going to observe my warriors training...and maybe get some of this stress out and train as well, I could use it. My Beta came up to me, with what looked like a very old dusty falling apart book.
"I found it!" he shouted happily, handing me the book. "Thanks Jason," I said as I took the book an opened it. The first page was a short memo signed by my great-great grandfather, Theodore. "We've made an agreement with the Shaman, as all alphas are to be present for the birth of the next shaman. The Waning Moon pack has only a female to lead them, a female with Alpha blood from her father, and her mate is the Alpha of the Sliver Crescent pack. Once they have a child all alphas of each pack should attend the birth of their child in the Shaman's woods; outside of every pack territory." The rest of the page was disintegrated, I flipped through a few more pages, it seemed to be his personal journal.
On another page he wrote "Today my son will be named Alpha, and I will take myself and journey away from these lands, my Luna died yesterday and I can't live on like this, My son already has his Luna and I know she will be a great one and lead well, but first I will see the birth of the new Shaman, as it will be born this full moon, and we will see what becomes of this." I flipped to the next full moon in the corner of the page and read on, "Yes here we are In the Shaman's woods he will assist with the birth and meet his new apprentice, i think it is about time, he's over five hundred years old and he could live much longer I'm sure but he needs to retire and move on to have his own life after this one is trained."
I flipped the page. "The moon is shining down and we are all waiting, I over heard the Shaman talking and saying that he had learned his powers and skills in a little over one hundred years." I flipped the page and some of the sentences were unreadable, but they continued with "the 6 packs that neighbour his woods he has a treaty with all of us, that we should leave him alone when he is collecting herbs or things, he will not do harm to any pack.
The time came, he started mixing the oils and herbs that will anoint the new Shaman, as the mother started active labor and pushing the infant out. It was a short labor, a female was born, the Shaman poured the oil and herbs on her white hair, and it became fully black, a sort of ritual where he accepts her as the next Shaman, and she accepts him as her master when she becomes thirteen."
I flipped through some more illegible pages, I'm guessing one of those had her name in there but this poor book was nearly dust itself, the last page had a lot on it bu the only readable part said "And now I will leave my son to take care of this land, as i put this book in the attic."
"Thanks again Jason," I said handing him back the book, do me a favor and put this in my study's library...under the glass- shadow box like table, so it can be preserved for a bit longer. I wondered what the unreadable parts were, but clearly the birth of a shaman is very important for him to write so much about it.
Doing some quick math, she has to be about two hundred or two hundred fifty, which means thirteen years with her family, learning what she will become, and a hundred or so years training, So yes, she would have been the Shaman when my grandfather and dad were alphas. Just the quick calculations were making my head spin, if she's that old then she really shouldn't be my mate right? Then how does she do this feelings thing. My father always told me that a mate feels warm and she completes you, and you'll know it when the time is right, but I don't know father...i really don't know.
I watched the shaman come out of the Gamma house, and make her way back to the main house, without a word. I'm guessing she's headed back to her room, I have no idea what she was going on about or how she ditched me at the Omega house, but I'll have to deal with that later, right now I just need to fight. Removing my jacket, shirt, and shoes, I was welcomed into the hand-to-hand ring and had a few good one on one battles with the warriors, they train hard and definitely helped us deserve the title of one of the strongest packs around.
