Rowena
I had just left when I felt someone pushing on the walls of my mind link. I opened it up to hear what the person was saying.
'Come to my office.' Beau said, and I closed it back, heading to where his office was.
When I stepped through the door, he looked up at some paperwork with his mouth open like he was about to say something. But the moment he saw the look on my face, he closed his mouth for a couple of seconds. "It's still there, huh?" He asked me, and I just simply gave him a "duh" look. "Well, you just have to be patient. That much wolfsbane won't go away just overnight." He told me, and I sighed. Man, I'm sighing a lot. "So, what did you want?" I asked.
He pointed to the chair across from his desk, telling me to sit. Once seated, I simply looked at him as he stared at me expectantly. "We need to talk about where you think your brother might be," Beau said, and a light bulb went off in my head. "Right, well. My family had a cabin just outside the pack territory. At first, I thought no one in the pack could know about it. But I'm not so sure with how Alpha Micah is." I explained. "Do you know where the location is?" He asked me, and I nodded. "Would you be willing to lead us there?" He asked, and again I nodded. He sighed, and it was like I could practically see the wheels turning in his head.
"Okay, I have a meeting to go over plans with many pack members. It'll be a week or two before we do anything, though, because we have to train and memorize the terrain of the territory. Hopefully, the wolfbane will be out of your system by then." Beau explained. "Alright, but is it okay if I train in my way until then? I need to figure out my powers." I asked him. "Yes, and I'll even have a couple of the strong fighters help you. Since you told us that some of your powers activate when you're in a lot of danger." He said, and I just nodded.
After that, he said I could leave, and I went exploring for a bit. The packed house is pretty big. After a while, I opened my mind link, asking if someone can run with me. I didn't feel like hanging out with Seth today. I ended up meeting one of the pack fighters at the front door after going to my room and changing into a pair of track shorts, a sports bra, and a tank top. "So, what is your name?" I asked him as we headed outside. "Jesse." He said He had blonde hair and brown eyes. He stood at about 5"11," and, as he was shirtless, I saw he had a six-pack. For once, I couldn't figure out his age. "How old are you, Jesse?" I asked him. "I am 17 years old." He stated.
When we reached the tree line, we went behind our trees to undress and shift. As I came out from behind the tree in my silver wolf with a black star on my right hind leg and blue-green eyes, I saw a snow-white wolf that had a black spot on his forehead that was a perfect circle. His eyes were amber-colored. His wolf was beautiful. So, this is how Jesse's wolf looks. I thought to myself.
'The coloring looks oddly familiar.' Lyall told me, but I just shook my head, thinking she was crazy.
Jesse walked up to me and nudged me, telling me to get to running. I had to stick to a leisurely run since I have to stay with Jesse, and I didn't know the borderlines of the territory. I opened my link to talk to Jesse.
'So how long have you been a member of this pack?' I asked him.
'I have lived here for the past seven years. My alpha had kicked out my entire family. My parents had died, and the rest of my family sent away. Our eldest brother was kept at our old pack and became the third in command there.' He explained to me. I didn't say anything for a few minutes.
'I know how you feel. I wish I knew where my family is. They were all sent away after the rogues killed my parents. I don't even know if any of them are still alive. Well, actually. My uncle was the third in command in my old pack.' I said in a sad voice.
'Do you remember your parents? You were so young when they died. Do you remember what they are like?' He asked me softly. I couldn't help the smile that crossed my wolf lips.
'If my mom still had her powers, and they challenged my alpha for the alpha position. If they had won, she would have made the most perfect Luna.' I said as a tear escaped one of my eyes.
'What do you mean if she still had her powers?' He asked me.
'Let's head back, and I'll tell you more.' I told him before closing my link.
We headed back to the packhouse, and Aria was waiting on the porch. We stopped behind a couple of trees, and when we came back out, we were in our human forms. "Aria," I called. She turned around, and when she saw us, her worried expression turned into one of relief. "I was worried. I didn't know where you were or if you had someone with you." She explained. "I'm fine. Lyall wanted to go for a run, and so did I. So I asked if anyone could go with me. So, Jesse volunteered." I explained as she nodded. "Okay, now. Inside, both of you. Beau wants to see you both in his office." She told us as she followed us back inside. Once inside, Jesse and I both headed to Beau's office to see what he wanted.
