CHAPTER 4 PART 1

AVA’S POV

After I fell asleep I woke up to an intense pain in my abdomen. My body was hot all over. I couldn’t believe that I slept so long. We might not have time now. I noticed everyone was back in the room and the moment I started to grunt and moan because of the pain they all looked at me. I could feel their eyes on me. Prince Lee came running to the side of the bed. When he looked at me he was shocked.

“It’s starting early dad. She has started to shift. The party's still going on outside. How will we sneak her out now.” He looked so worried about something. 

“Ava we need to get you out of the pack house. I am gonna pick you up okay? It will be okay.” The king said. 

I watched as he slowly moved to pick me up and it hurt worse. I started whimpering and the tears were running down my face. I couldn’t control them any longer. We got outside and in front of everyone and I felt the first bone snap. I let out a blood curdling scream. It hurt so much more than anything I have ever been through. 

“She has to do it here. Just keep everyone back, we don’t know how her wolf will react to all of us.”  The King said. 

Everyone was watching me. I felt so weak. I knew what they didn’t. My mate didn’t want me. Another reason why everyone was so cruel. The goddess wanted me to be Luna of the pack. I knew I didn’t want that but it feels like this is going to take a long time. I was screaming as my bones slowly popped and reshaped themselves and my hands turned into paws with sharp claws. My teeth sharpened and my face elongated. I didn’t know how long this was going on but when it finally stopped I was happy. I could hear gasps around me and I looked around. I finally have my wolf. I am not alone anymore. 

“Hello. I am Star.” I heard someone say. She sounded just like an angel. Then she whimpered and howled at the moon as she said mate. I know what he is doing and it hurts even worse in this form. I didn’t know what to say or what to do. I just stood there. I felt this urge to howl and I did. I howled so loud. When I was done everyone including the king were on their knees. 

I just looked at them. Until one thing happened I never expected. I smelled this scent that had my wolf jumping. Two years ago I was rejected. On my 14th birthday. The Alpha’s son had turned 16. Rejected me on site in front of everyone. 

“Star we don’t have a mate. He didn’t want us, remember. You have been able to see everything.” 

“No Ava new mate. Not that i***t. Moon Goddess has blessed us with a new one. He’s here. Find mate.” Before I could move I felt a sting in my back. I didn’t know who did it but at the same time I felt the pain. I heard a vicious growl. I don’t know what happened. The next thing I know is my father is dropping the whip as he is being held in the air by an angry Prince Lee. He is my mate. 

“Son you need to let him go. Look at Ava. She needs you.”

“I watched as he lowered my father to the ground and dropped him. He turned around and slowly walked to me. I was standing at the same height as him. 6 foot 7 inches in my wolf form. I wasn’t short like most she wolves but it's still weird. He put his arms around my neck and I felt sparks shoot from the contact that was made. He was smelling my scent to calm down. I didn’t move. I just stayed as still as I could. I didn’t want him to become mad at me. I waited until he pulled back. 

“MATE! MINE!” He said. 

I whined and wanted to shift back. I was just standing here in my wolf form. While everyone was just staring at me. I didn’t know what to do anymore because they just wouldn’t stop. I wanted to see myself. I just didn’t know how. Until I saw Zane carrying something over towards me. When I saw Alpha Zeek I could feel my wolf’s anger at him. She started pacing and lowly growling at him. Prince Lee looked at who I was growling at and when he saw him he started growling again. When Zane put the mirror in front of me I was looking at it. I was a pure white wolf. With a neon blue crescent moon on my forehead with purple eyes that shined. I was looking at myself and I whined. I didn’t know how to go back to normal. 

“Ava do you want to shift back hun.” The Queen asked me. I nodded my head the best I could. “Follow me. Lee give me your jacket so she can cover up when she shifts back. I will help her. I am sure she doesn’t want everyone watching her.” 

I followed her as she walked a few yards into the woods. When she stopped and turned around she smiled at me.

“Ava it won’t hurt as much to shift back just a little bit. I want you to close your eyes and picture yourself as a human. Your eyes, nose hair lips arms legs. It will help.” She said. 

I could feel all of my bones rearranging and I felt a slight discomfort when I shifted back. I didn’t need his jacket because I shifted back with all my clothes on. When we were walking back into the yard where the party was. There was something going on. 

“She is my mate and I am taking her with me.” 

“You can’t Prince Lee. I am sorry but until she turns 18 as the law says her parents get to decide if she can go or not and they have. She is not allowed to leave this pack.” 

I heard that. I can’t leave. I kept repeating it over and over again in my head. I didn’t even realize when I screamed no. I just looked at all of them and I ran up to the room I was staying in. I grabbed all of my things. The money I have been hiding and everything else. When I got back downstairs I could hear them yelling. I had to sneak away to get out of here. Then I heard something I didn’t expect. 

“I AM YOUR KING! YOU WILL NOT STOP ME FROM ANYTHING! AVA WILL COME WITH US BECAUSE AS OF NOW THIS PACK IS UNDER INVESTIGATION! Lee go find her. Get her things. She is coming with us and we are leaving right now.” The King was angry. 

I was scared to move. Did I make him angry? Then I smelt him. He came around the corner and saw me clutching my bag. 

“Please don’t run Ava. You're coming home. I won’t leave you here. Please. I promise nothing bad will happen anymore to you. I will protect you.” He said. 

“They won’t let me go. Even after everything. I don’t understand what have I ever done to them. They hate me.” 

Then I saw Jason. Or now Alpha Jason. 

“Ava please don’t go. I take it back. I take back my rejection. I Alpha Jason of the Blue Moon pack accept you Ava as my mate and Luna.” He said. 

Prince Lee was standing in front of me and he blocked Jason from coming closer. My body was shaking from fear and I could feel Star wanting to take over. She didn’t though. She was letting me deal with everything on my own. 

“Ava do not accept him. I don’t like him or his wolf. They just want power.” I could hear Star say in my mind. I grabbed onto Prince Lee’s shirt and was trying to move to leave. I guess he noticed because he slowly put an arm around my waste and was leading me out of the building to the back yard. I could feel Alpha Jason following us. Once we got outside. Both Betas were staring at me with hate and disgust. I never knew what I did to them. 

“Ava will be leaving with me. If any of you try to stop me I will kill you.” Prince Lee said.

I watched as the Beta Clyde walked closer to me. When he was right in front of me I saw his hand raising fast. The next thing I knew is I felt Star coming closer to the surface. His hand froze there. His whole body froze. I didn’t know what was happening but then he flew away from us. I looked at Prince Lee.

“Your eyes. One is your normal blue and the other one is purple. I have never seen someone who can share control like that.” He said to me.

“We are special. I won’t let anyone hurt her anymore. I will protect my girl from now on. I can finally kick ass.” I knew it wasn’t really me talking but Star talking. “If you come near her again. I will kill you. You may be her father but we are no longer you pup. We are no longer your family. You hid me. You kept her weak so she couldn’t shift anymore. For what. You and this pack are a disgrace to our goddess. I should have had years to train her with everything. Yet you took that because we shifted early. She was strong enough to have a wolf at such a young age. That scared you. Now the powers we will have won’t be so easy for her to control. You started this years ago. Now you let us leave peacefully or I will make you feel everything she had felt.” She was growling loudly as she talked to them. I just listened. When I felt her give me full control. 

“That’s why you hate me. Because I shifted early. All the pain and everything. I never hurt anyone. I just wanted my family back.” I said. 

“You are a disgrace. You never should have been born. I didn’t want you.  Her wolf was the only one who wanted you. But she didn’t protest when my wolf said he wouldn’t kill you. Just teach you to be obedient. We had to fight with her wolf. It’s why she is never around much. Her wolf cares.” Beta Clyde said. He was still laying on the ground. He couldn’t get up. I didn’t want him to.

“Can we leave now Prince Lee. I don’t want to be here anymore.”

“It’s just Lee mate. I will do anything for you.” The Queen came up to us and she hugged me. 

“Let’s go pack our things. Your fathers Beta will be here soon. The warriors are already locking everything down here.” She led us upstairs to a room I had never been in before. I sat down and looked at my lap. I felt drained and tired. I just couldn’t allow myself to fall asleep. Prince Lee saw this.

“Mom while we are packing I think Ava should lay down and rest. Shifting for the first time takes a lot of energy.” 

“Of course my son. She can lay down in the bed if she wants to. It will help her to get plenty of rest. We have to wait for everyone to get here to be able to start anything. I am sure most of this pack will be arrested and taken back to the prisons we have.” 

I felt him come near me. I slowly got up and almost fell back on the couch with how weak I was feeling. He picked me up and carried me to the bed and laid me down. He tucked me into the bed.

“Sleep Ava. I won’t be far away. Just rest. I’ll protect you.” He whispered as he softly kissed my forehead.
