Midnight Sky

I am in the forest again. I instantly realize that and I can hear the thump of what I can only assume are paws. The monster is huge that they tear through the branches and the sound of the branches breaking terrifies me even more. I pick up the pace but it is a futile attempt even I know that, but I have to try I don't want to die here in this thing's hands.The forest is dark and I am running purely on instincts, the monster suddenly growls and I turn to see what happened. Worst idea as I trip on a rock and fall, but instead of hitting the forest floor with my face; I fall right through the dirt and resurface somewhere else. This is not...normal. I hear footsteps behind me and i get up to try and run again, but what breaks through the treeline is not a monster that was chasing me. I seem to catch him off-guard because he sees me and stop dead in his tracks, he watches me as i watch him. Gorgeous doesn't even scratch the surface of his beauty, he has the most beautiful eyes that are a brilliant shade of blue. Jet black hair cut in a curly hair fade, bushy but clean cut eyebrows with a pierce, a straight nose, and a full set of lips. He has a sharp jaw and high cheekbones. His neck and arms are covered in black tattoos, he is a big man with large hands. ''Are you lost?''; he directs at me and I startle. His voice is deep and has an air of authority, it caresses me and I wish I could hear everyday. He continues staring at me like I am crazy and i realize he asked me a question. ''Uhm...'' I look around and realize I have no idea where I am, this place is just a hill overlooking the sea and I realize if this guy were to push me now i would plummet into the ocean. There is no one else around here just us. ''No actually, i am just on my way back home and i decided to pass by here.'' ''And where is home little girl?'';he asks as he takes a few steps towards me, he looks at me as if he wants to eat me alive. ''Oh uh-'' ''You are not from here. I would know you if you were because i know everyone from here.'' ''You cannot possibly know everyone from here, there must be at least a few thousand of people here.''; I chuckle at the absurdness of his statement. I am so distracted I don't see him coming to a stop right in front of me, so close I can smell his earthly and manly scent. He touches my face so tenderly and I look so deep in his eyes, he gets close as if he will kiss me and i am ready for that too.He changes last minute and gets closer to my ear, he kisses my earlobe and an intense shiver wracks me. He withdraws and stares into my eyes and whispers so close to my lips;''Stop running away from me love, I don't think I can take it anymore. Please, I am begging you... I need you...'' ''Wha-'' And then he steps away from me, smiles sadly and shifts. One minute he is a man and another he is the monster from the forest. I scream and scream... I wake up and I still expect to see it, or should I say him? What the hell was that anyway? It has never gotten that far before, it has always ended in the forest when I fall. Who was that anyway? I cannot deny that he was so hot and the way he touched my face...I raise my hand and trace where he touched me, it's like I can still feel his hand on my face. Sadly I miss it and that should scare me. I am so in my head thinking about that dream I don't notice that I am late for work, I should be at work in 30 minutes. I jump out from the bed and almost fall face first, seems to be a norm in here. I get to the bathroom and turn on the shower and while it warms up I brush my teeth. By the time I am done showering I am absolutely late I have no choice but to skip breakfast, good thing I work with food so I should be able to catch a bite. I get dressed in record time, pick up my purse and throw my essentials in there. I take the stairs 2 at a time and thank God I don't break a neck, I grab my keys from the keyholder on my way out. I lock the front door and run to the car, get in and start the car up. I reverse out the driveway at breakneck speed. I speed out the neighborhood. I am so used to be being late that my boss, Cara, just rolls her eyes and waves her hand at me. She is aware of my night issues and I guess that helps my plight too. I have been having these dreams since I turned 18, that was 5 years ago after I graduated from high school. At first I thought it had something to do with my parent's passing, many said so too. But it has been 5 years and today's dream just suggested that it may be more than that, I think maybe I may be just lonely in that house so my mind is playing tricks with me. Maybe I need to start dating again, which is hard since I am not ready to lose my V-card yet. I just haven't met a guy I deem worth of my virginity yet, and as I don't think I can just give it up. My friends think I am being ridiculous, but I just want what my mom and dad had. I change into my work clothes and leave my stuff in the locker, I put on my best smile as I approach the counter. Today I am working with my best friend, Beth, we met in high school in our 10th grade and we are inseparable. ''You didn't sleep well again sugar?''; Beth says as soon as she sees me. ''What gave it away? Let me guess, I look like shit.'' I sigh because I always look like s**t, its a common description of me every morning. ''I was going to say you look tired but s**t fits the bill too.''; she retorts.''Was it a monster again?'' ''Did you burn that incense I gave you last time Nat?''; Cara asks from the kitchen doorway. ''Yeah but it seems to make it worse, today was different than usual. I fell to another place and met a guy there, and he turned into this monster after we talked.'' ''A guy? Do you know him?''; Beth asks. ''No, I would definitely remember if I have seen him before. He was rather...unique.''; I tell them. ''Unique? Elaborate.''; Beth says as she rings an order for a takeaway, but I think she is more curious about my 'unique' man. ''Well, he was hot as hell. But he said I should stop running from him and changed into the monster from before.'' Cara seems to stand up straight at that and avoids meeting my eyes entirely, odd. ''Yeah that is freaky. So he is this thing that was chasing you all along?'';Beth questions. ''I have no idea, but it seems so.'' We are interrupted by a customer and leave the conversation at that.Cara's restaurant is a modern era inspired and has an elegant feel to it, the low hanging lights, the square table covered in peach and white table cloth The day goes on without any issues, but I still can't understand why the sudden change in my dream and what it means. Working in Cara's restaurant is no easy fit because we stay on our feet all day serving people, the only time we get to relax is on our breaks. I take advantage of the break and eat for breakfast and lunch at once, hey don't judge I was starving. After our break, we deal with lunchtime rush hour and it is so packed up its crazy. There is 8 of us working today but still feels like we are not enough actually, the tips make up for all the hassle. Not like I need any of them, my parents left me with enough money to not want for anything. They made sure to leave me with enough money to study and still live lavishly, so I just work here because I like this restaurant and Beth is a bonus. They are like family in here and I can definitely use that. Who knew this town can get lonely? Staying in a big house by myself is lonely even when I have everything I can possibly need, sometimes I wish my parents could have had another baby since being an only child is so boring. Beth tries her best to help me feel better but sometimes I get jealous of her big family, she even has big sisters!! I would kill for that. It in the afternoon after the lunch rush and I am cleaning the counter, when the bell suddenly the atmosphere in the restaurant changes. There is a hush that falls inside the restaurant and I raise my eyes to look for the cause, my eyes find 4 men approaching the counter and they are all wearing suits. They have to be the hottest men I have ever met in my entire existence, they also have an air of authority. If there was an example of Alpha males they were it, they embodied it but they also have an air of danger. The first one looks younger than the rest but he still looks strong and gorgeous in a boyish type of way at estimated 6'1, the other one is a little taller than the first one and has almost 6'3. He is rugged and a total bad boy, the third one is almost 5'9 height. The last one is the one who catches me totally off-guard because he look exactly like that guy in my dream, down to the piercing on his eyebrow and his eyes too. The tattoos totally give him off, they peak from his neck. They disappear from his neck and I can only assume they cover the rest of his torso, I can't stop staring at him. No matter what anyone say but that is him. ''Talk about a deer in headlight and she is it.'' ;the younger one says with a charming smile. But I can't stop staring at that guy...''It's you.''
