Moondance leadership meeting

849 Words
After his conversation with the she-wolf, Gabriel asked Matthew, Thomas, and his father to meet him in his office. “I couldn’t sense her smell or any distinct scent,” Gabriel said to his wolf Zeus over their mind link. “That’s what’s bothering me the most. I have never met a wolf that doesn’t have a distinct smell.” Gabriel paused. “Despite that, I feel like our destinies are intertwined. I just can’t put my finger on it.” Zeus listened intently and was curious about the she-wolf’s presence. “Do you think she could be a spy from a rival pack?” he asked. “It’s possible,” Gabriel replied, surprised by his wolf’s question, “but we need to learn more about her. Until then, we shouldn’t jump to conclusions. And if she is a spy, we must be careful.” When Gabriel arrived at his office, Matthew and Thomas were already there. At that moment, his father, Markus, joined them. The men settled down on the two sofas in Gabriel’s office. Gabriel addressed them, “You know I met with the she-wolf. I wanted us to talk about that meeting and our next moves.” He paused to see that they were all on the same page. “When I got to her cell, she was so frail, so vulnerable, that I couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of protectiveness towards her. She is beautiful, with dark hair and striking blue eyes, eyes that reminded me of a Blue Moon. I could tell she was scared, confused, and didn’t know who I was or why she was being held captive. We talked, and I offered comfort and support as best as possible. I feel a sense of responsibility toward her. Thomas, she had a similar effect on you, right?” Thomas nodded. They all listened intently, taking in every detail. When Gabriel finished, they all fell silent, each lost in thought. Finally, Markus, Gabriel’s father, spoke up. “That’s interesting, even intriguing.” He paused, reflecting. “Maybe the Moon Goddess sent her to us to take in as a pack member and to protect her?” He continued thinking and rubbed his neck, “Son, did she smell anything special to you?” Gabriel answered, “Nothing distinct, no. It seems weird. It’s almost as if she has no smell at all. Have you ever encountered anything like this in your life or studies?” Matthew chimed in, “we need to find out more about her,” he said. “If she is a threat or part of a ploy by the Blood Moon pack, we need to neutralize it before it’s too late.” Matthew’s comment took Gabriel aback. “Neutralize her, Matthew, seriously? Have you ever seen her?” He said pinching the bridge of his nose. He couldn’t believe his Beta right now. “Let’s start by investigating her some more. Find out everything you can about her, but be careful. We don’t want to alert her or anyone else who might be involved. Maybe send our trackers to where you found her, see if there is a lingering scent they could catch to track where she came from?” They agreed. Markus spoke up. “The rivalry between our packs runs deep and spans several generations. You know this, son. It all started with a dispute over territory that escalated into a full-blown feud. Blood Moon Pack believed they were the rightful owners of the land, and the Moondance Pack disagreed.” Gabriel nodded. “I know. It feels like a puzzle, and I’m missing a few pieces to figure it out.” His father continued, “The Moondance pack and the Blood Moon pack engaged in a fierce conflict when the latter attempted to seize territory from the former. This resulted in casualties on both sides, escalating tensions and fueling personal vendettas. The feud intensified when the Blood Moon pack targeted Moondance females and pups, causing immense suffering. Over time, the conflict became deeply embedded in the pack cultures and passed down through generations. However, a new generation of wolves emerged, led by Alpha Gabriel. These wolves sought to end the feud and started secret meetings with their rivals. After years of negotiations, compromises, and the dedication of the younger wolves, they finally reached a truce. Although some grudges remained, the majority recognized the need to move forward. While the packs were not yet allies, they aspired for a neutral coexistence.” Markus paused, “but the truce has been withering since Victor took over the pack, challenging the former Alpha and taking over the pack.” Gabriel took in what his father shared with him. Thomas and Matthew were flabbergasted when they heard all the details since they only knew some of the history. Gabriel said, “OK, I agree that those are horrible stories. They should remind us of our history with the Blood Moon pack without detracting us from our current predicament with the amnesiac she-wolf.”
