Mate bond?

942 Words
As Gabriel and the she-wolf made their way toward the pack house, the stars twinkled above them, casting a soft glow over the landscape. The air was cool and crisp, and the scent of pine filled their nostrils. Gabriel walked with a confident stride. His wolf's instincts were taking in the surroundings and keeping a watchful eye out for any potential threats. Alpha Gabriel’s quarters were on the fourth floor of the pack house. As he led Lila up the stairs and down the hallway, the scent of his musky cologne and the woody notes of the house’s cedarwood walls filled the air. But Lila smelled his scent the most, Patchouli. And the closer they got to Gabriel’s room, the stronger his scent became. The hallway was wide and well-lit, with sconces on the walls providing a warm glow. Gabriel’s quarters offered a spacious living room with plush, comfortable furniture arranged around an enormous fireplace. To the right of the living room was a fully equipped kitchen. There was a dining area just off the kitchen, with a large wooden table and matching chairs. To the left of the living room was a den where Gabriel sometimes worked. Further down the hall were the bedrooms. Each room was spacious, with a king-sized bed in crisp white linen. Each room had its bathroom. When entering his quarters, Gabriel spoke softly to Lila while placing his hand on the crook of her back. “Please make yourself comfortable. I’d like you to see this as your home from now on. I won’t pressure you into sharing a room or anything. I just can’t imagine not being close by. I want to be there for you if you need me.” As Gabriel showed Lila around his quarters, the blue moon outside cast a surreal glow across the landscape. The silvery light filtered through the windows and cast intricate patterns on the walls and floors. The moon seemed to have a life of its own, imbuing everything it touched with magical energy. Gabriel and Lila settled into the cozy living room. The air between them crackled with an electrifying tension. The flickering firelight danced across their faces, casting shadows that only added to the allure of the moment. They sat across from each other on the plush couch, their eyes locked in a passionate gaze. Lila looked around, her heart swelling with emotion as she took in the inviting atmosphere. “Thank you,” she whispered, her voice tinged with a hint of desire. “I honestly could not imagine being apart from you, either. Is this the mate bond that you and Venus mentioned?” Gabriel’s eyebrows arched in intrigue, his eyes smouldering with curiosity and longing. “What? Venus called me her mate?” His voice was husky, laced with a primal need that sent shivers down Lila’s spine. He knew Zeus had scented them as their mate. But to hear that Lila’s wolf, also called ‘mate,’ made him ecstatic and relieved. They were true destined mates. Lila nodded, her chest rising and falling with each breath. “Yes,” she breathed, her voice barely above a whisper. “When I had shifted in the garden, she, well, we smelled you... and she called you mate.” Gabriel couldn’t contain the smug grin that spread across his lips, his heart pounding. Lila completely captivated him, and he couldn’t deny his overwhelming pull toward her. “Well, that’s interesting,” he murmured, his voice dripping with desire. Lila utterly entranced him, feeling putty in her hands, unable to resist the magnetic pull between them. “We should get a hold of my father,” he continued, his voice filled with urgency. “He might make some sense out of this. And we’ll explain to you what the mate bond is.” Lila’s eyes sparkled with a mischievous glint as she leaned in closer, her breath mingling with Gabriel’s. “But it’s the middle of the night,” she said, her voice confused. “It doesn’t matter, pretty one. We need to figure this out,” he said, with a lightness in his tone. “My father is training to be an elder. He’ll know how to help us understand what is happening.” Gabriel tried to open a mind link with his father, Markus. He wasn’t keen on accepting the mind link, but Gabriel forced it. “Father, I need you to come to my quarters now.” “But Gabe, it’s 2 am,” his father sighed. “Have I ever bothered you about something insignificant?” Gabriel pushed. His father could only reply, “I’m coming up, son.” Markus jumped out of bed, waking Gabriel’s mother, Gloria. After all these years, he was as in love with her as the first day they met. She was a striking woman with flowing dark hair that cascaded down her back in gentle waves. Her skin was the colour of warm honey, with high cheekbones and a perfectly shaped nose that added to her regal appearance. Her eyes were bright green, with an intensity that seemed to pierce through anyone who dared to look into them for too long. She stood tall and proud, with a confident air that commanded respect from those around her. Gloria had a kind and nurturing nature. She was a loving mother to Gabriel and his siblings and always met their needs. She was patient and understanding, and she made people feel at ease in her presence. Markus quickly explained Gabriel’s request, and she accompanied him. She was worried about her son.
