Episode one
Evelyn's pov
We had just finished the mating ceremony of Alpha Darius, proclaiming me, Evelyn Ashbourne, as the Luna of the Silver fang pack. It was what I had always wanted and expected.
We had dated two years before Darius could tell me how he felt. I was a nobody. No family, no parents. I don't even have siblings. I was all alone in the Silver fang pack before Darius became my everything.
To think I would be his mate was a shocking revelation when I found out. “ You deserve every good thing life has to offer.” Lyanna, my best friend, would say to me.
But then, I didn't know much. I was a naive twenty-five-year-old virgin who wanted a family I could call mine.
I felt tipsy from drinking too much alcohol. The last thing I remembered was Aloha Darius talking to his beta to take me to the room, our room.
With the door shutting right behind me, I wondered when my mate would come to bed to consummate our marriage. I could still see them. The happy faces of people who wanted me to be their queen, or should I say, I saw what I really wanted to see without looking beneath their faces and masks.
I let out a smile as I doze off.
[ THE FOLLOWING DAY ]
The light illuminating the room sent a loud message to my eyeballs. I knew I needed to wake up. It was a day's break. I covered my eyes with my hands, trying to shield the sunlight, but I froze at the site of my very own hands.
They were covered in red paint, or should I say blood?
I looked at Rhaegar as he had the windows blind pry open.
“ Grab her!”
That was the icy tone of the man I married, Alpha Darius.
At first, I thought it would be just a prank, a way of making me feel on edge. I know Silver fang has so many enemies that I would want to see the kingdom destroyed. Thinking I was being pranked, I let out a smile. “ I am not in the mood for this, baby.” I said, walking towards Alpha Darius.
As I got out of bed, I walked towards him but the sharp and deafening slap I received made me come back to reality. I held my face in my hands, staring at the man I loved. His gaze was cold, and I could feel his wolf as angry, while mine was surprised.
Here was the man professing his love for me yesterday with a hardened face that looked like he was going to pounce on me and choke the life out of me.
“ Take a look at yourself.” Alpha Darius looked at me.
“ Why? "What is going on?” I said, almost crying. “ Was this about yesterday? I know I might not have presented myself as a Luna should, but I think you were going to cut me some slack.”
Alpha Darius said nothing but simply walked towards me and pulled me by the hair. I let out a cry of pain as he dragged me back to my bed. The bedsheets were opened, and my face went pale at the horrific sight right before my very own eyes.
I froze for a minute, not sure of what I was seeing.
“ Is this a prank? "Can someone tell me if this is real?” I shouted as tears welled my face.
“ You tell me, where the f**k were you yesterday, Evelyn? Was this your plan all along?”
I was still in shock. I don't know what Alpha Darius was talking about and also, I don't know if this was still a prank on me. The slap, the harsh words, dragging me by the hair looked too real to be just a prank.
I immediately fell to my knees. “ You need to tell me if I have done something wrong, Darius. "I don't know what you are talking about.” I pleaded with tears.
“ Oh my god! I don't know why someone didn't warn me about you. I should have known that you had bad luck. A misfit for this kingdom and not only that, but a murder!” Aloha Darius shouted at me.
A cold shiver ran down my spine as he called out the name.
“ What? Who did I murder? When?” I gazed up to meet his reddish eyes. I knew he must have been crying all day long but that was something I would like to understand.
I looked at his Beta, Rhegar, who stood silent. No one was telling me anything. “ Are you still going to deny not killing him?” Alpha Darius yelled again, and I shivered at his wolf roar.
“ Please, Darius. If I did something, I think I have the right to know. "I don't know what you are talking about.” I fidgeted with the words. “ Yes, I woke up in this mess, but I don't know.” I stammered, which was unusual of me.
I was always bold, assertive, but all of this was taken away from me in just a single day. “ Maybe a change of surroundings will juggle your memories.” Alpha Darius replied coldly. “ Take her…!”
He was about to finish his words when the door opened and Lyanna walked in. “ I came as fast as I could.” She shouted, rushing to my side as I sobbed.
“ What did you do, Evelyn? "Did you do it?” Lyanna asked again. I raised my head to look at her, everyone kept accusing me of something I didn't know if I did or not. One minute I was tipsy and the next minute I was answering for a crime I didn't commit.
“ You have to believe me, Lyanna. I didn't do it. I don't even know what this is all about. "Please you have to believe me and tell Alpha Darius it wasn't me.” I pleaded.
“ I don't know what to say anymore. This is far beyond me, Evelyn. "You need to tell me the truth if you did it or not,” Lyanna said again.
I looked around the room and saw their faces. It was almost like they all wanted me to admit to something I didn't do, but I don't know what I did. “ I will be happy if you can tell me what I did wrong.” I looked at Alpha Darius and back at my supposed best friend.
“ Alpha Darius’s father, did you kill him?” Lyanna asked me and my face went pale.
