CHAPTER 15

MHAVEL POV

“Did you see it don’t you?”

The only thing I ask when I realize that Sanhia is now looking serious on me.

She just nods at me silently, honestly, I am shocked right now, I don’t know how will I explain this, I am scared that she might think of me similar to this creature.

I just turn my eyes away from her when Vincent called us from inside the office

“Hey, you both are really amazing, I mean you have powers and strength,” he said

“You can go out nowhere you know, don’t be afraid,” Sanhia said that I think she is just trying to calm herself from what she saw in me

“I cant…the time I was awake here, I never had the chance to get out of this office, even I want to, I even choose to cross over but I don’t know how, I am really sad here being alone, if ever I got a chance to just disappear I would love to” he explains

“Not before we get what we are looking for, information that we need to know,” I said

“So what do you want to know?” he asks

I and Sanhia just look at each other before we start to ask

“You said that the woman who killed you is your mom? Are you sure?” Sanhia ask

“Yes, I am sure of that, honestly, I used to pick her up here going home, I grew up in the US and when I came back here, at first I don’t see any weird actons on her but in the latter part, her gesture change she became agitated and angry, she almost kills the maid that committed a mistake that time, I am the only one who can make her relax and softened her mood, so I decided to get around her anywhere she goes until that incident happened, I saw her standing in front of me holding a knife with blood, I was shocked that time and can't even move, she stare at me that makes me step backwards until I am at the edge of the balcony and I fall down, I can still see her looking at me without any guilt, she is just smiling towards me,” he said looking sad and lost, I have fight for my Mom’s justice yet on his story it was his Mom who killed him, it is really tragic.

“We are very sorry about what happen to you, and we will do our best to make justice for your death, we will find the truth,” I said then Sanhia look at me and I can see that she agree with it.

“The secretary, find her, she is still alive, before I slip at the balcony, I saw her move and opens her eyes, that is the last thing I saw aside from my Mother’s face who is happy to see me going to die,” he said in tears.

“If only we can do something to help you crossover” Sanhia said

“Maybe your touch would be a help,” he said that shock us both

“But it will going to kill your soul!” she said

“It is okay, I will be much happy to disappear than roaming around here full of memories that I don’t like,” he said while tears formed in his eyes

On that part, Sanhia walks towards him while closely stand in front of him.

“Are you ready now?” she asks and I can see that he just nod and smile, that genuine smile looking thankful.

She moves her right hand then carefully touch his face, Vincent is now slowly fading but we are surprised that his ash becomes tiny dazzling butterfly until his whole body turns like that, hundreds of butterfly flew out of the balcony up in the sky, it is so beautiful, I have never seen anything like that every time Sanhia touches the other creature before.

When he is all gone all I can hear is Sanhia’s burst into tears, her shoulder shaking and her lips are whining.

I want to walk towards her to comfort her but I couldn’t and I don’t know why, so I just remain silent on my position.

It is almost 30 minutes pass after Vincent was sent off, and Sanhia already stops from crying, we actually inside this building for how many hours and honestly I am now starving.

I ride in my car and was about to go but I saw Sanhia walking on the side road so I stop.

“Ahmm, I will go for a drink and have a late dinner, you can join me if you like,” I said

She stared at me then just opens the door and get in my car.

We didn’t talk much while on the road; it has been a tough night for us.

When we get to the restaurant that offers a beer and dinner menu we quickly get our table and seats

I just order some grilled squid with melted cheese then two cans of beer and she just ordered grilled chicken and lemon juice.

“We just need to find her, Jhonny already told me that she was alive, she was seen at the Quezon city hospital before, then she disappeared” she explains

I kind of confused about the Jhonny guy, I guess he was the one with the red hair.

“Who is Jhonny by the way? Boyfriend?” I ask

“No! no way In hell, I mean he is just my friend almost seems like a brother to me” she explains

“Alright geez!, well anyway, maybe he can find her location so we can talk to her though I guess it won't be easy as that,” I said

“What do you mean?” she asks

“I guess that monster bug statement is partially true, maybe she was being protected by the Arsenas” I said

“Hmmmm, that is possible, so she will be the only key about this, we can stop until we get Vincent’s revenge” she seriously said that stops me.

That was really sad, the more I want my Mom’s revenge the more I want to help Vincent to get justice.

We stay at the restaurant for a little time to loosen up though it’s a bit late now so we decided to go.

After we eat we decided to home and we are now heading our way to my car.

I was about the get in when she speaks

“I won't tell anyone I promise, though you need to be careful next time, not anyone is like me who can understand you” she seriously said then get in the car

I was silent for a moment when I also get in but before I start the engine I speak to her.

“I don’t know either what is going on with me, I didn’t even know how I got this, all I remember is when I open my eyes in the hospital after being alive again from death, my eyes suddenly turns to green without warning, until I found out how it changes, you see I am all normal until I was awake from death” I explain

“Why don’t you search for it? I mean if it is an eye illness or maybe you were lacking some vitamins, that makes your eyes like that” she explains

“Well, I have my annual whole body checkup but they never found any health issue in me,” I said

“How about investigating it, I mean if there are people before who has the same condition as you or even some that are existing right now” she explains

“I will get to that after getting revenge for my Mom,” I said

“Alright, but again just be careful, make sure no one others will see it” she explains which I get it

I didn’t notice that we are almost near her house, I ask to park the car at the front gate but she refuses coz it will be too much hassle for me to return to the main road

“I can handle myself now boss don’t worry” she smilingly said

“Well then I can't disagree anymore, goodbye see you tomorrow,” I said then head my way home.

Honestly, I am really terrified right now, knowing that there is one person aside from my family who knows my secret.

Well, even we don’t really get along well; I can feel that I can trust her.

When I got home then just head my way to my room, I stopped when someone speaks which is very familiar to me.

“Avhel” that voice, I already know who just visit me

“Aunt Mina!” I said

“Wow, look at you, you really grow up gorgeous,” she said

“We’ve been waiting here in almost three hours Vhel, where have you been?” it is Lucy

Aunt Mina is my mother’s half-sister to my grandpa and Lucy is her daughter, we are the same age, the same height and the same physique.

Most of the time they always compare me to her, she got the praise and I got the insult, of course, who am I compared to a detective.

Yes, she might have that title but I don’t care! I have the looks and I have the brain.

She has a brain and little witty but she will never defeat me that she is aware which makes her insecure about me.

“I have a business to do, I don’t know you guys were coming,”  I said

“Business? A Mhavel Claude Bernards is doing a business? Wow! That’s new!” she said trying to mock me

Honestly, I don’t have the time to argue with her since it’s a long and tiring night for me

“if you both will go home and nothing has to say then I will go to my room now, or if not then you can occupy the visitor’s room,” I said rolling my eyes on Lucy

“Will you stop that Lucy!” Aunt Mina said

I just shrug on them then head my way to my room.

I don’t have the strength to deal with them anymore all I want is to sleep!

I woke up feeling heavy on the right side of my arms; maybe I just slept on it until it gets sored.

I couldn’t sleep anymore so I decided to just get up and have my breakfast.

When I get to the dining area Aunt Mina and Lucy is already having their breakfast as if they are the owner of the house!

“Oh Hi, Avhel, I cook something for breakfast, come on in help yourself,” she said of course I will help myself since it's all my food is what they are eating!

I didn’t say anything and just sit and have some of the Ham, bacon and egg.

I just eat quietly when Lucy starts to ask me things.

“So, do you really accept Uncle’s offer for you to be the CEO? As in for real?” she asks

“Stop being a detective here, you are inside my house,” I said throwing her a death glare

“Lucy! Would you please stop that! I am very sorry Avhel.” Aunt Mina said

Damn, I think I lost my appetite now!

I was about to stand when my cellphone ring and Sanhia’s picture appeared on my screen

“Whoa such a beauty, who is she?” Lucy ask again

“None of your business,” I said then walk away from them while talking to Sanhia

“Hey, I am not going to be late!” I said

“You should be MAAM…! Anyway that is not the reason why I call, about the secretary, we found her” she said

“Really? So when are we going to meet her?” I excitingly ask

“Later will do, because the incident at the old building in Caloocan has been in CCTV, though our face isn’t recognizing the fact that Arsenas already know that there are people who just get in the building will threaten them that is why Jhonny and I found that they process a passport last night, it wasn’t impossible to that specially nowadays, people with knowledge in fabrication can do the impossible things, the secretary will be scheduled her flight going to somewhere so we need to get hurry” she explains that shocks me

Damn! She is our only key, we can't let her leave the country!

“Alright, give me 30 minutes and I will pick you up at your house,” I said

“Noted Ma’am” she just said which I don’t know if I should feel happy or she is just being sarcastic again! Well, which is what I don’t care about anymore, what matters is the secretary.

We end the call and I just hurriedly fix myself and go Sanhia’s house

I just park my car in front of their house

I thought she is just waiting for me outside but it seems this time I am earlier than her! One point for me! Hahahhaha

It is almost five minutes and she is still inside, I can't just wait here so I decided to get in instead and at the side part of their house, a motorcycle is parked inside.

Does Mr. Almoral know how to ride a motorcycle? I ask myself and I just can't imagine

I try to call her but she is not answering it, so I instead try to look at the window since it is open.

When I was about to say something and look for her I heard a voice.

“So, we will do the project next week?” its Mr. Almoral’s voice

“Yes Dad, we can mess this up, I mean Mhavel and I are now solving this case, we cant do the stealing at Arsenas house coz it will just trigger them to become more private and be just vanish which is not good for us” its Sanhia’s voice

Fuck! What did I just hear? Stealing? At Arsenas house…?

Don’t tell me, they are a group of thieves! Like the one, I have encountered in Calamba at my mom’s house

Shit!....is she….the one I have sparing with?

I close my eyes trying to remember the figure of that woman and my brain is literally disappointed me coz it matches perfectly.

So she is Sanhia… damn it! Damn it! Damn it!

I run towards outside and almost get out of the gate when…

“Ma’am, where are you going? I am sorry I was just discussing things with my parents and Jhonny”

I don’t know how will I respond, I mean I am now in the state of shock,

Damn…my trust is now crashing again…
