CHAPTER 9

MAKATI FRIDAY 4:30 AM

“What? You don’t have a job anymore? How will our everyday life now?”

“You don’t understand Arnold! The f**k!”

“The hell Susan Why do I need to understand you how about the life of our kids?”

“Damn you!!! You never cared for me in the first place! Better leave me alone!!”

The woman ends the call and just breathes out air while waiting at the public vehicle waiting area.

BELONY APARTMENT

MHAVEL POV

We both standing now in front of this apartment, it is almost 5 pm and anytime it's going to be sunset meaning darkness will surround us soon.

The problem I have right now is that I missed doing something earlier that I hope will not compromise us here.

“So, how can we enter? The guard will stop us for sure!” I said

She just looks at me with cross arms then walks towards the security guard

“Chill, I can handle this..”

She said then starts talking to the security guard, I didn’t follow her instead I remain here then in just a minute she waves her hand signing for me to go there since we can now get in.

Upon getting in the lobby, I whispered to her like how on earth did she was allowed for us to get in.

“How did you do it?” I ask while still roaming my eyes around.

“Simple, I just state my name and state yours,” she said that makes me really confuse

“What? Just that?” I ask in confusion

Then she faced me and pulled me to the corner.

“Look, this whole property is owned by BCC and SGC meaning they already know us!” she explained and yeah, I kind of getting it now geez!

We further look and walk around; the guard is assisting us when Sanhia starts asking him.

“So, where is Susan De Mesa’s apartment? I mean we heard what happen and that is why we are here, we can't let false rumour ruined the company” she explained to the guard

“ I get that Ma’am, let me guide you both on the fifth floor,” he said and then Sanhia and I just look at each other and smile in victory.

While we are inside the elevator, I don’t know why I feel hot and sweaty, I feel like it is summer inside this elevator!

Then I felt an unusual feeling and make me sweat even more

“You both going to die here”

I was stunned and even move my ass away from my position after hearing those words

I can see that Sanhia was confused about my action then she moves near me while getting out of the elevator and whisper

“What is going on?” she asks and I just move my lips to her ear

“I heard some voice, telling me that we will both be going to die here” I whispered but I didn’t even see any reaction to her, she is not even terrified with what I said.

“Just ignores it, I guess something is going on here that might be the reason of Susan’s death” she explained.

When we get to the apartment, it looks normal as it is, the guard lets us see the room where she was seen hanging on the ceiling.

At the dining area and kitchen, the room looks really normal like nothing fussy happen aside from the dirty plates and plastic foods scattered.

When we get inside, I feel like something heavy is within me, like I am being groped tight on my chest and stomach which I really try my best for them not to noticed specially Sanhia.

“The ceiling is really high, does it usually like this in all apartments here?” she asks the guard

“Yes ma'am, all the apartment here has a high ceiling and only with the help of the maintenance if they have problem with the light or anything regarding the ceiling” he explains and somehow I guess I get what she’s trying to figure.

“The time being here, whom she is with staying here?” I ask

“Her family, her children and her husband,” he said.

So there is no one here aside from her own family, if that is the information that will pass to the authorities they will easily define it as a suicide than murder.

Aside from the leftover things in the kitchen like food and dirty plates where he mentions that it was being left like that for a while to be used for further investigation, nothing seems to be unusual here and so I ask Sanhia to get out but she stops me.

“This is not a wrapper of food, these plastics bags are for candles, and this mess is ashes,” she said and she is right all these plastic bags are not for food.

I try to look further in the kitchen when I saw some crumpled paper and try to open it which makes my eyes wide in shock

There is a sketch of a monster, a woman-like monster, that is being sketched in a very realistic way, and the person who draws this seems to be an artist or knows how to sketch.

I let Sanhia see it and I can see how she was terrified on it so I crumpled it again, then she let her cellphone out then dial it, she walks outside and seems to talk to someone.

I was left inside and the guard still looking around when I heard another whisper

“I will get you, you will be mine,” The voice said that startle me which makes me sit on the couch, I exhale some air and tries to calm myself when my eyes turn to the TV.

And there it is, a USB that was still inserted into it, seems like someone is watching something from the USB.

I tried to open the TV with the help of the guard, as I navigate it, I saw the pictures of their family, the husband, her and their children.

When I try to look again at the picture, I just realized something…damn!

Then the only video on the USB is what I am playing now

“Ahhhhh…stay away from me!!! Enough!!!”

“Pleaseeee…not my children…just me…you can have me but not my children”

It is Susan who seems to talk to someone that tries to hurt her and the children, she is now bargaining herself for their safety.

Then the video turns to another scene

“Wahahahahha, you got no one!!! You are mine now!!! Hahahahah”

“No one believes you even him!!! Hahahaha you are all mine!!”

It is Susan again in another video that seems like talking to herself, she is videoing herself in front of a mirror that looks insane!

I was about to stop the video when Sanhia speaks on my back that seriously startles me this time!

“Thank you for that bit— I mean you, stupid girl!” I said and she just laughs at me which makes me pissed at her!

“Afraid huh? Hahahaha, anyway, I talk to HR, and I confirmed that Susan is an engineer for almost five years, she was hired together with her husband which is an Electrical engineer in the company, they are both in the field of engineering but the husband resigned after 2 years of service, the reason is, he was offered a better job in other company” she explains that somehow answers my other question.

“I guess I know what has been going on here,” I said then look at Sanhia

“Whatever it is do not do something stupid Ms. Bernards, it isn’t on our hands anymore.” She said but I just ignore her then get out of the apartment and she follows me

She stops me by holding my arms.

“Get off your hands on me!, until this issue isn’t solved, my parent’s company still in pending jeopardy! So if you are not agreeing with what will I do then leave! I don’t need you!” I said then pulled my arms from her and I start to walk towards the elevator

As I get in, I suddenly feel like there is something inside me, a heavy thing that hanged on my shoulder.

I can’t take it anymore it is really heavy that I slowly going down and will touch the floor, I feel like something heavy is on my back.

I was about to totally be pressed down the floor when the elevator stops from closing and I saw Sanhia standing in front of me.

She is looking at the top of my back like she is seeing something I cant see

“Who are you? Get your filthy body off her!” she shouts which terrifies me more

“H-Hey…. I can't take it anymore!” I said seeking her help

“You monster, you don’t know what I can do, you will get off her or you will be melted in the air!” she said and was about to attack my back when suddenly I felt lighter, feeling like the heavy thing on my back disappears.

“She’s gone..” Sanhia said that still confuse me

She quickly helps me get up and take the stairs instead.

“Let’s get out of here before she comes back and groped you again.” She said then head our way out.

We are still panting and tired getting out of the apartment; I really don’t understand what is really going on with me so I ask Sanhia

“What is really going on there? I mean who is the monster are you pertaining to?” I ask and she looks at me wearing those worried eyes

“Come on! I can take it! We already face that huge human-like mouse remember?” I said assuring her that I can take it

“Fine! I saw the monster in the sketch, exactly like her” she said that shocks me

“Goodness! So that f*****g monster has really something to do with Susan’s death” I said and she looks at me differently again

“Look, I get that you are concerned with the company, but it will be more dangerous for us if they will suspect us, making all this fuss would make us really guilty you know” she explains and I get that but I just can't stay away and do nothing.

“My mom was announced dead because of uncured illness, but I know there is something about it, it is more than illness, she did not die in a natural way, she was murdered” I seriously said.

“Oh…ahmm, I am sorry to hear that, though, how did you know that she was murdered?” she asks like a nosy cat!

I didn’t answer her instead I start to walk towards my car.

“Hey! Wait, it's okay if you can't tell me but if you are planning to go to him please think about it first” she said again.

I just face her, looking straight at her then put my hand on her shoulder

“I do understand your concern, but I can't stand anymore not doing a thing to a situation that I know I can still do something, I didn’t even do anything to save my mom, now that I know I can do more who needs my help, I would do so, it isn’t my usual and I don’t know if I will do this again so just let me do it Sanhia” I said then tapping her shoulder and continued walking to my car.

I may not sure about anything anymore but I have this feeling that I really need to something about this.

I just look at her before closing my window and start driving.

I heard that he is staying at the hotel with his children, I try to listen to the news again which is on YouTube and there it is a Falcon crimson hotel.

I head my way to that hotel and walk straight at their suite, honestly, it is not allowed to ask for anyone’s private suite especially if you are not related but since I am Mhavel Claude Bernards, I can do anything and always has a privilege to anything I want!

While I am on the elevator going to the 10th floor, suddenly I was stopped when I saw my reflection inside the elevator which is a mirror-type wall.

So it is appearing again, of course, it should be, especially at this moment that I will be the one to catch the culprit and uncover the truth behind Susan’s death.

This time I guess I might use this curse to see exactly what I should see, I might not in favor of my curse but I cannot deny the fact that it always saves me most of the time.

The more I get so excited the more that it becomes dashing, my cursed and mysterious green eye.
