Chapter Eight Random Encounters MY EXPRESSION was blank as I stare at the photo on my phone. It was about from the incident that happened yesterday. Apparently, the news about the wrecked truck already spread through the internet like a wildfire. Unverified information about it continuously circulate in different social media sites. All of them have common denominators, the online gossips would always say that there are no traces of a person that might be the driver of  the truck. Thinking about it, I realized that I actually didn't see anyone other than the twins and those three. I did not see any actual person driving that vehicle, it was as if a ghost truck just suddenly appeared and threatens to crushed me mercilessly. I caressed my lower lip as I gaze at every photo. I can't help but to be confused about what's really happening. There are too many questions--mystery that I really wanted to solve. But the real question is who to trust. Who shall I believe? Whatever, if I have to solve this alone then I will. I am capable and I will make sure that they will realize that. "Damn it..." I whispered under my breath as I saw another photo. It was the brunt portions of the road. The same spots where that Pikachu guy tried to fry Lumence alive. As I peruse the comments below, I realized that this strange event started to stir some bizarre but alarming speculations about what really happened. Many are making their own hypotheses.  It must be hard for the authorities to guess what really transpired that night. Such clues will only lead them to their constructed 'rational explanation' because come on, who in their right mind, would think that this thing happened because of a bunch of mutants brawling in the middle of the night? "Poor thing..." I whispered boredly. "Is there a problem, Arylle? You look stressed." Nanang ask in her usual concern voice while putting the glass of milk on the table. I closed my eyes for a few seconds to calm my aching head that keeps on bugging me since yesterday. "It's nothing Nanang. School is just draining my energy." s**t. Why can't this headache go away? "Oh well, please take it easy with your study. Your grades are already great! You do not need to stress yourself too much. I am pretty sure that your parents are very proud of you. You need to rest sometimes." She preach with her tone almost similar to my mom. I just sighed... trying to ignore my mental remark and my stinging headache as I dived into my breakfast. As I chew every bit of rice on my plate, the memories of what happened yesterday seems to chew my head too. It was drastically chaotic that I, myself could not properly digest it. I hate to admit it but the truth is, I really feel uneasy because of the uncertainty of the situation and all the other possible unforseen events that may happen any moment. But I have to pull myself together because one thing is certain, that this is just the beginning of something dangerous. I know that I should be in that place already... but school is just a freaking hindrance so I must wait for a couple of days before executing that plan. For now, I must first be cautious because I'm sure that all the authorities and civilians in our area are already bothered by the mysterious incident. AND I proved it right when I saw all the vehicles falling in line as I was driving to school. I knitted my eyebrows and tried to take a peak on what is happening and there I saw two police cars with five police officers, holding some papers while checking the drivers of every vehicles one by one. What the actual hell. There is a freaking checkpoint. This is not a common scenario here that is why I do not usually stress myself by wearing my helmet or other rightful attire as a motorcycle rider. Besides, I am confident about my driving skills but I am clearly in a deep s**t right now! I was too preoccupied by my internal turmoil that I did see this happen. Of course, the authorities would definitely apply strict measures to assure that the incident will not happen again that is why they are doing this. Damn it, Arylle. I'm sure that each driver will be thoroughly checked and I will be doomed if they notice that I am not wearing a helmet and a reflector. I ducked my head when I noticed a police officer looking around as if finding someone in the crowd of vehicles. I firmly clenched my baby black when I saw the police guy staring at my direction. I am not sure if he was staring at me or what since I was ducking my head but his line of vision is certainly within my area.  If he caught me or other police, I'm done. But there is no way in hell that I will go back to our house at this time. I will surely be late if that happens. This is the consequence of not getting up early today. "Damn it." I manoeuvred my motorcycle away from the main road. Some drivers glanced at me when they saw my plan to counter flow but I could care less. My life is not a piece of their business, anyway. I sped up my baby black as I manoeuvred into a familiar route to our school. Being a curious kid has its perks too. Exploring this place for years taught me all the possible route. Some are even unfamiliar to many so that is where I will go. I drove inside a narrow and undeveloped route with many rogue grasses and old trees. The road was not properly cemented, it was composed of small rocks and soil that made my journey a bit rough. My hair is splashing in the air wildly like it was enthusiastic that I broke some laws. After a couple minute of driving, I can already see the edge of the route that was connect to the main road. There are no traces of police car so I'm safe. I smirked at that. Just when I tried to speed up, a girl suddenly popped out of nowhere. "Damn it!" I cursed violently when I almost hit the girl. Luckily, I was able to stop before I could send the girl flying with some broken bones. "What the hell are your doing? Do you  have a death wish or something?" I irritatingly parked my motorcycle in the middle of the road while I stared at the girl that I almost killed! She stood up and faced me as she fixed her slightly messed up long black hair. "S-sorry. I-I didn't mean t-to--" Freaking--"Nimsan?" I stared at her in disbelief, mild shocked expression grazed my face. -C. N. Haven-
