Jonah
I hear the commotion from the entryway as I’m just leaving from lunch.
No class this afternoon so I had my own classes to attend and I’m running late at usual.
I’m about to head up to Mrs Lecks room to get caught up on the two lessons I’ve missed that my year group have been doing.
She comes flying down the stairs and grabs my arm.
“Look their doing it!” She pulls me down the hall and out into the back of the Academy.
I stay on the back step away from everyone else. I can see kasy and her friends on one side of the pitch in their school sport kits, the wolf girls who play against our witched sometimes are lined at the other side.
One of them looks rather pale, it’s the girl from Dantes room. Just brilliant! Sure fire way of getting caught Mr Demonix well done.
I could use this to my advantage, if they find out what Dante is doing then I’ll be off the hook with taking the lil brat Mary-jo to the prom.
I search out kasy, looking at her. Hoping she will catch my eyes.
Finally her bright blue/green eyes catch mine. I just stare at her a minute watching the girls magic flow. They really are incredible!
I look at the she wolf and motion towards her for Kasy to see.
Kasy catches on quickly as to what I’m saying, she mouths “Thanks” and I can’t help the s**t eating grin that spreads across my face as she still looks at me.
I gather myself as the crowd erupts cheering ELEMENTALS, ELEMENTALS and Kasy’s distracted.
The ball is thrown and the game has begun.
The wolf girls have never been beaten by any Witch team. But they've never faced all original family elements at once.
It's a beautiful sight to behold, the girls work in complete unison.
I feel Kasy's magic, so akin to my own. It calls to my very soul.
Kasy
I jump up to get the ball just a split second before the wolf girl.
She tries to grab my outstretched hand by the wrist, but I bring my other arm up knocking her hand away from me.
With both arms as high as I can reach I grab the ball.
Instantly I heat the ball and it glows a fiery red.
The wolf girl centre player stops moving and stares at the ball. She growls at me, when she finally works out that they won’t be able to touch the ball, not whilst it’s connected to our hands anyway.
As I land I give her a sweet smile. She growls again. Ha I’m loving this!
Much better than normal girls Netball any day of the week.
The wolves look at each other through the wind and water. They nod in agreement and shift into half beasts. They have massive claws and teeth, they grow too and suddenly we ain’t so cocky.
Ahhhhh s**t
That’s gonna hurt!
I look forward Layla is free I pass over to her, the girl who Jonah had pointed out to me tries to push Layla over and grab the ball.
She fails miserably and Layla holds firm landing perfectly from catching the ball.
The wolf girl falls to the floor like a wet fish. She doesn’t seem to have the same strength as the others.
I glance at Jonah and he’s smiling, his normal sadistic smile though.
Oh joy.
Head back in the game Kasy!!!
I race to the circle, the centre player wolf b***h is hot on my heels, she swings her body weight to the side and propels herself towards me from the side.
I brace myself for impact as she’s about to collide with me, but instead of hitting me a massive mound of earth moves like a wave and knocks her clean on her ass!
“WOOP GO DAWN!” I shout to the back of the field. Where Dawn is rubbing her hands together to cheers from the crowd.
I’m not the only one who’s enjoying this game! I see as Dawn plays up to the crowd even more.
Layla throws the ball and I catch it, both our opponents are on the floor, so it’s basically human Netball now.
As I line up and take my shot. The others try to get in the centre to block. But their too late, they’ll never make it in time.
I thank my mother for all the after school sports clubs she made us do! If I had known I so wouldn’t of moaned about it so much.
OK I would of, who am I kidding!
Positioning my feet, I line up the shot....
It goes in perfectly!
The crowds go insane....like actually insane.
Magic flies everywhere, fireworks over our heads. I look for the source and see Mrs Leck gearing up to throw another magical firework.
But then Mrs Barnes throws the ball back into the field and we are back in the game.
Usually you play Netball on a court, but where’s the fun in that. We’d also loose the earth element advantage we have.
The wolves have come back stronger than ever! Renewed determination in their eyes.
Dawn and Jo both get sliced as they block the wolves.
Jo makes a wall of water to stop the ball and player. But the wolf sales through it and lands on top of her raking her claws down her arm.
I instantly shoot my power over to Jo who nods and starts stitching her own arm back together using my magic boost.
She launches power to Dawn who got a nasty slice to the cheek, it starts to nit itself back together too.
Dawn looks mad, that wolf is so going down!
I know that look from my coven sister, revenge will be taken.
Jo is busy healing, I’m back in the centre of the pitch which leaves, Dawn our only defence against the two wolf attackers, even with her injury.
But she’s an absolute pro, the earth suddenly drops out from the player who cut her and is lining up the shot.
The wolf girl looses the ball in the air as she falls into the pit Dawn has made.
It’s timed perfectly and Dawn sails through the air grabbing the ball and front flipping holding it tight between her stomach and legs. She narrowly misses her huge hole in the pitches floor.
Dawn recovers and quickly throws the ball to Eloise high in the air so the wolves can’t get it, till it comes down anyway. Not even they can jump that high!
Eloise doesn’t need to touch the ball though.
She manipulates the air, getting the ball to travel over to the shooting circle again where Layla stands waiting for the ball in a ring of fire.
The crowd starts cheering us on again.
Elementals, Elementals!
The wolf Centre is up and running again, she leaps over the fire ring and punches Layla straight in the face!
Layla falls to the floor, Through her own ring of fire. Landing in the water and her wrist is at an odd angle.
Jo is instantly throwing a healing spell on Layla, I launch another ball of power to her.
That boosts her spell as it heals Layla’s wrist. The crack of bone can be heard across the pitch.
I keep my eyes on the ball.
They’ve passed it to the weakest link, hmmmm I wonder why she is so weak?
Being a spirit elemental to manipulate something I need a spirit or a soul.
Not really wanting to see if the wolfs soul can be manipulated by me I think of what else I can do...I’m able to hijack my sisters elements and use them as my own...
“Dawn!!! Stairs.... NOW!” Dawn knows exactly what I want and as I race to the centre where the wolf girl is trying to line up a shot out of our end zone.
But all her players are blocked by ours, she can’t find a clear shot to her teammate.
Netball isn’t basketball, you can’t travel with the ball. Once you have it your stuck in one place.
She lines the shot up as the one who knocked Layla over gets free from Eloise who is having to block two girls as Jo and Layla are out.
I jump in the air running straight for the ball, Dawn’s steps of earth materialise under my feet and as I climb they fall into nothing.
Higher and higher I go until I grasp the ball with my finger tips!
I do a roll flip to the floor, making sure the ball goes down to the floor with me and I land in the centre circle again.
I’m not technically holding the ball, but the wolves still yell at Mrs Barnes that it’s travelling!
She tells them I’m not holding the ball yet! With a superior look at the wolves, Whoa Mrs Barnes gets a bit intense over Netball!
I land perfectly, years and years of playing making the movements flow like a dance. I line up and take the shot...
Point number 2 to us!
