Chapter 2

1136 Words
Everything returned to normal after she secretly ran away from the hotel room when Aiden took a bath. She went back to her work the next day and prepared the proposals for the advertisement for their new sausage product. As someone who works in a food company, her job is to make plans in creating their advertisements and supervising it until the end of the project. But as part of it, she's also required to submit the paper straight to the president's room for approval. She usually leaves it on the secretary's desk just before the door of Aiden Castellan's office, but that day, the secretary specifically told her to come inside as requested by their employer. Keila took a deep breath before knocking at the massive door of the President's office. "Good day, Miss Forger! How are you? It's been a while. Is that one month ago?" Mr. Castellan's playful smile greeted her as soon as she stepped foot in his personal space. The man smiled at him seductively and leaned a little on the armrest of his chair. "Please take a seat, Miss Forger," he instructed. "So are you going to answer my question, sit there like a stone or just like that day, run away from me? Hmm?" Keila gulped her own saliva as she thought of the perfect reason she could give to him as he stared at her endlessly, like someone making holes in her tight skirt and loose polo. "Do you always come to the office dressed like that?" He asked, pointing at her legs that's showing off from the slit of her skirt. "As far as I remember, we have dress codes in the company." Keila shifted her crossed legs and pulled the hem of the skirt lower to hide the exposed skin that made Aiden burst out laughing. "You're cute," he said after laughing his heart out. "There's nothing to hide in front of me anymore but you... oh god, hilarious." "Sir, I am still a female and —" "No demure lady would go into a bar alone, kiss a man inside a hotel room in her drunken state while rubbing another man's genitalia." Aiden smirked at her. "Only you, Miss Forger." Keila looked away from him and let her eyes play idle on the empty wall instead. "Answer me, Miss Forger. That day, when you told me you'll wait for me, why did you ran away?" Of course she'll run away in shame like a dog with her tail tucked between her legs. If her body is not aching from the rough activity the night before that day, she could even run faster. "Ahm, no reason. I...I am just, hmm... overwhelmed?" Aiden stood up from his seat and walked to the sofa where Keila was sitting. He lightly kissed her on her rose-colored lips and smiled sweetly after tasting the dessert in front of him. "Now, not overwhelmed?" "Uh...no. It's just..." It's just so sudden! What's rolling in his head to make him go and steal a kiss from his employee? Keila wanted to shout those lines in his face but his face seemed glowing, caused by the light reflected by the large glass window in the office, making him look like an angel with a halo. "Pfft—Oh my, Miss Forger, you're really..." "What?!" She instinctively hid her face with her palm when Aiden suddenly tried to suppress an escaping laughter in his mouth. Aiden stopped teasing and let his knuckles slide on Keila's smooth face, caught a few strands of her hair and put it behind her ears to reveal the shape of her face. "You're really beautiful." His unexpected gentle side caught Keila off guard and stole her breath away. She fanned herself with her hand and told her inner desires that the man in front of her was only looking for a perfect pastime and it so happened that she delivered the papers on time. "Why don't we do it again? Without Caspian this time." Keila brushed his hand that's touching her neck and scoffed at him. "I did not come here for s*x, sir." Her words are harsh, but it's nothing for Aiden. He thought deeply for a moment before proposing another deal, which is very similar to what he asked earlier, but with the time difference. "What about a quickie? Just a three-minute long s*x and—" The sentence was left hanging in the air when a sharp slap reached Aiden's face. The pain made him numb momentarily that it took a few more seconds for him to revert back on his casual stance. What a fiery woman, he thought. Keila is like a tigress that's ready to swallow her husband whole when given a chance. A sexy tigress that can make men favor her in bed. "I know that I am at fault, Sir. But whatever happened that night, please forget it. Let's act as if nothing happened between us and what actually happened is just a nightmare." A nightmare? Aiden couldn't take the insult of calling the night when he slept with her a nightmare. Is he that bad? He grabbed Keila's wrist and with a stern look, he said. "No one's forgetting anything, Miss Keila Forger. I won't forget what happened that day and neither you are allowed to erase that memory from your mind." Keila pushed him away and left the room in haste. These days, all she's doing is escape from different things. The secretary called for her, but she chose not to turn her head around and go back to that place. Resigning in her position is not a choice because this will be her last project and in two weeks, her contract in that company will expire. Just a bit more patience, Keila. Everything is alright. She prayed to herself. Until her phone rang. It's Dale, her ex-boyfriend who chose to be with her other colleague that he got pregnant "by accident". It did not take another day for her own office mates to learn about her breakup with Dale. Some gave sympathy, some jeered at the third party, and others tried to defend the child's right to be protected by his father. But Dale, what is he thinking right now? She looked over the divider that separates the employee's table to see Dale that's on the other end of the table. He's also staring at her with the phone in his hand. His looks are unexplainable, so she can't figure out his intention. Keila sighed and pressed the red button on the screen, then walked past Dale and whispered that the two of them should talk outside. She did not mean literally outside but in the break room where they can enjoy some free cups of coffee. And Dale followed her.
