Chapter 12
It was the end of Christmas dinner at the Capula house. Anna and John were seated at the head of the table, and they started pouring anise-flavored Italian liqueur in tiny glasses, passing them around the table, in preparation for a goodnight toast.
“So Marcie managed to remove the porcelain after the police were done investigating, when everyone was at the Cannoli Cafe which included Felicia. That’s how she did it when no one was watching. I think she was hoping to sell it and retire!” said Dean to Stephen, Nicole’s brother, who had asked for a more detailed explanation about the missing porcelain. “Oh, and Nicole, Felicia giving Marcie the china storage bags with antique dishes was pure coincidence. She sometimes paid Marcie to help her clean valuables.”
