Alpha Redemption

Chapter Three

Maya goes to pay Liam a visit in his office. She complains to him about how Alex is self-centered and how he has not been treating her right but she remained loyal and stuck with him even when his family tried to get rid of him. She also tells Liam that Alex has not been sincere in his business dealings that is why he is always getting better contracts from Liam and stealing his clients. She tells Liam to make a move against Alex or else he is going to want to kill Liam and take what is his.

Liam, on hearing this, tells Maya that he does not have any weakness to hold against Alex, but that if she can get something that can cause damage to Alex, he will reward her handsomely. Maya tells Liam that she does not want his payment, but only wants to see Alex suffer for all he has cost her over the years. Liam agrees with her and tells her to keep in touch.

Emily and Katty are at their work recess and gossiping. Emily is telling Katty about her experience with Alex and how gentle Alex is, Katty listens with eagerness and only interrupts her when she gets too excited. Katty then asks Emily if their affair was a one time thing or if they are officially a thing, but Emily does not have a definitive answer. She tells Katty that she likes Alex but he is too mysterious and she does not know anything about him. Katty asks Emily if he knows anything about her and what happened in New York, Emily shakes her head and Katty tells her that if she wants to be serious with Alex, then she will have to tell him.

Alex brings Rachel to his house later that evening. On getting to his house, he notices that his door is opened so he gets on the defensive. He tells Emily to get into the car while he goes to confirm who is inside his house. As he enters the house, he meets Maya at the table having some of his scotch. He asks her what she is doing there but Maya gives him a sarcastic answer. While Maya tries to find out who is in his car, Emily walks into the house to meet Maya. Alex introduces Maya to Emily as his ex. This catches Maya by surprise and gets her angry. She tells him that she is just coming back from his brother and his brother has become a tyrant to the others, but Alex tells her that he doesn’t care. He tells her to use the guest room for the night and by the morning, she should be on her way. Then he leads Emily upstairs, into his room.

When Alex and Emily are alone in Alex’s room, Emily asks Alex what happened to Maya and why he hates her so much. He tells her that his father died and his step mother turned the other members of his family against him and it made him leave. After he moved to Greenville and started a new life here, Maya came and joined him but she dumped him and went back to his half brother and step mother. He tells her that he has forgiven Maya but he does not trust her. Emily gives Alex a deep hug and they start kissing and lie down on the bed where they make love again.

Sophia’s car pulls up in a parking lot. The headlamp blinks twice and a man comes out of the car directly opposite her and walks over to the car. The man, Trevor, opens the car and seats beside Sophia and bows lightly. Sophia tells him to abduct Alex and bring him to her so that she can kill him herself. The man asks her why now and she tells him that Alex is making moves to come after her family and that was why he sent Maya to them. She tells him that Maya feels she can use her femininity to entice her son, but she, Sophia, is also an ambitious woman and she knows how to look out for ambitious women. She tells Trevor that she will deal with Maya herself, but Trevor should deal with Alex.

Emily wakes up in Alex’s bed alone, she stands up and looks around but does not see Alex so she leaves the room. When she goes outside, she meets Maya at the kitchen counter having a glass of whiskey. She greets Maya and heads for the door but Maya calls her back that Alex is not home. Maya offers Emily a glass of whiskey but Emily skips it for a cup of coffee. Maya tries to find out more about Emily but she evades the questions. Emily tells Maya that Alex’s family have a dark secret that is going to get Emily killed. She tells Emily to get out now that she is not in love with Alex. Alex walks in and interrupts them. He asks Maya what she is still doing in his house. Maya agrees to leave and tells Alex that she was just finishing her drink. She drops the glass and goes over to Alex and whispers in his ears to be careful with Emily. When Maya leaves, Alex apologizes for the inconvenience but then heads to his room. He tells Emily that he has to run into town for a meeting but that she can stay if she wants and that he won’t be gone for long.

Alex drives into town for a meeting with his client. On his way to the meeting, by the traffic, a van pulls up beside him and a man comes from the opposite side walk and shoots Alex a tranquilizer dart on his neck. Alex falls unconscious and the van beside him opens and some men come out of the van and hoist Alex into the van. Another one enters Alex’s car and drives off behind the van.
