The next morning, Emily woke up early, feeling a sense of nervous excitement. She had spent the entire night thinking about the mysterious meeting, wondering what it could be about and who this wealthy businessman was. As she got dressed, she kept wondering what this strange meeting would be about. What if this meeting was some kind of scam? What if she was walking into a trap? She pushed the thoughts aside and focused on getting ready. She put on a simple white blouse and a pair of black trousers, and pulled her hair back into a neat ponytail. As she looked in the mirror, she felt a sense of determination wash over her. She was going to go to this meeting, and she was going to find out what it was about. The sun was shining brightly as Emily walked out of her apartment building. The air was crisp and cool, with a hint of autumn in the breeze. She took a deep breath, feeling the cool air fill her lungs, and set off towards the address on the letter. She flagged down a taxi and gave him the address. Ask they drove, she noticed how the city was so different in the morning, the streets quiet and peaceful, the buildings towering above her like giants. She didn't usually frequent this part of the city and as such, she wasn't used to it. The taxi stopped at the address and she found herself in front of a massive skyscraper. The building was sleek and modern, with walls of glass and steel that seemed to stretch up to the sky. Emily's heart skipped a beat as she looked up at the building. This was it, the place where she was supposed to meet this mysterious businessman. She said a silent prayer, took a deep breath, and stepped inside. The lobby of the building was sleek and modern, with a high ceiling and walls of gleaming marble. The air was cool and quiet, with a hint of luxury in the scent of the flowers that adorned the reception desk. Emily walked over to the reception desk, her heart pounding in her chest. She gave her name to the receptionist, a sleek and polished woman with a warm smile. "Ah, yes, Miss Wilson," the receptionist said as though she had been expecting Emily, her voice was so smooth and efficient. "You're here to see Mr. Ryder. Please, take the elevator to the top floor." Emily smiled and nodded, her heart skipping a beat. Mr. Ryder? Who was that? The letter had not been very specific about who she was meeting or why. She took the elevator to the top floor, her mind racing with questions. What was this meeting about? Who was Mr. Ryder? And what did he want with her? As the elevator doors opened, Emily stepped out into a luxurious office suite. The room was sleek and modern, very tastefully furnished. It looked overpowering, the kind of room that could make you say yes even when you didn't want to. And then, she saw him. A tall, imposing figure with piercing blue eyes and a chiseled jawline. He was standing by the window, looking out over the city, his broad shoulders and powerful physique evident even from across the room. Emily's heart skipped a beat as she looked at him. Who was this man? And what did he want with her? As Emily looked at the man, she felt a little intimidated. He was so tall, so powerful, and yet, there was something about him that seemed distant. Detached. He turned to face her, his eyes narrowing slightly as he looked at her. Emily felt a shiver run down her spine as he looked at her, his eyes seeming to bore into her very soul. “ Miss Wilson," he said, his voice deep and commanding. "Thank you for coming." Emily nodded, her heart pounding in her chest. "Thank you for inviting me," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. Liam resisted the urge to say, “I didn't invite” you and instead, he said "Please, come in," he gestured to a chair in front of his desk. "We have a lot to discuss." Emily nodded, her heart still pounding in her chest. She walked over to the chair and sat down, her eyes fixed on the man as he sat down behind his desk. For the first time since she walked into his office complex, Liam really saw Emily. He had been observing her ever since the taxi dropped her off in front of the building, her composure, her smile, her beauty but nothing had prepared him for how captivatingly beautiful she looked up close. Those beautiful, bug green eyes and her plush lips. She was a beauty to behold. And her voice, she had the sweetest singsong voice. It was soothing. He shook himself back to reality. "So, Miss Wilson," he said, his eyes narrowing slightly as he looked at her. "I'm sure you're wondering why you were invited here today." Emily nodded, her heart still pounding in her chest. "Yes, I am," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. The man smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Well, I'll get straight to the point," he said. "My name is Liam Ryder, and I'm the CEO of Ryder Industries. And I'm here to propose a business arrangement to you." Suddenly he found himself praying she would not turn down the marriage proposal. Who was this girl and why did she have such effect on him. He had been with many women in the past, highly sophisticated women, but none had this kind of overwhelming effect on me. At that moment he could really throw himself at her feet and beg if she refused the arrangement. It wasn't about his grandfather anymore. He wanted this woman, he just knew it. Emily's eyes widened in surprise, her heart pounding in her chest. "A business arrangement?" she repeated, her voice barely above a whisper. Liam nodded, his eyes scanned her face, trying so hard to hide his expression. "Yes, that's right," he said. "I believe that you have something that I need, and I'm willing to make it worth your while." Emily's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with questions. What could she possibly have that Liam Ryder needed? And what kind of business arrangement was he proposing? As she looked at Liam, she couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. There was something about him that seemed off. Something that seemed to be lurking just beneath the surface. But despite her reservations, Emily found herself feeling drawn to Liam. He just seemed compelling, like a magical creature. Something seemed to be pulling her in, despite her better judgment. As Emily looked at Liam, she couldn't help but feel a sense of fascination. There was something about him that seemed very mysterious. Something that seemed to be hidden beneath the surface. "So, what is it that you need from me?" Emily asked in her tiny singsong voice. Liam smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I need you to marry me, Miss Wilson" he said, his voice low and even. Emily's eyes widened in shock, her heart pounding in her chest. "Marry you?" she repeated, visibly alarmed this time Liam nodded, his eyes narrowing slightly as he looked at her. "Yes, that's right," he said. "I need a wife, and I believe that you would be the perfect candidate." Emily's mind was reeling, her thoughts spinning wildly as she tried to process what Liam was saying. Marry him? Why on earth would she want to do that? "I don't understand," Emily said, her voice shaking slightly. "Why?" Liam leaned back in his chair, his eyes never leaving Emily's face. "I need a wife to secure the future of Ryder Industries," he said, his voice low and even. "My grandfather's will stipulates that I must be married in order to inherit the company. And I need someone who is, well, suitable." Emily's eyes widened in shock and disbelief, her mind racing with questions. What did Liam mean by "suitable"? And why did he need someone like that? As she looked at Liam, Emily couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. There was something about him that seemed, cold. Calculating. Distant. She knew she was falling for this handsome stranger despite her better judgement but she couldn't help herself
