I looked at Sophia, my eyes narrowing. "Sophia, what's going on with you and Alex?" I asked again, my voice firm but calm.
Sophia's expression changed to one of shock and offense. "Ella, what are you talking about?!" she exclaimed, her voice rising. "How can you even think that about me? I'm your sister!"
I felt a twinge of doubt, but I pushed it aside. I was sure I hadn't imagined it. "I saw the way you were looking at each other," I said, my voice a bit softer.
Sophia's face turned cold. "Ella, you're being ridiculous. I'm your sister, and you're accusing me of sleeping with your husband? Do you know how serious that is?"
I felt a surge of guilt and uncertainty. Maybe I had been wrong. "Sophia, I'm sorry," I said, my voice apologetic. "I didn't mean to accuse you. I just...I saw something, and I got confused."
Sophia's expression didn't soften. "You should be careful about what you accuse people of, Ella. This could damage our relationship. And if you keep spreading rumors like this, I'll have to tell Mom and Dad about your little tantrum."
I felt a shiver run down my spine. Sophia was right. I had overreacted. "I'm sorry, Sophia," I said again, trying to placate her. "I promise it won't happen again."
Sophia's smile was cold. "Good. Let's just forget about it, okay?"
I nodded, feeling a sense of relief. Maybe I had been wrong. Maybe I was just being paranoid.
But as I looked at Sophia, I couldn't shake off the feeling that she was hiding something. And I was determined to find out what it was.
I nodded, feeling a sense of relief. Maybe I had been wrong. Maybe I was just being paranoid. Sophia smiled, her expression softening slightly. "Good. Let's just forget about it, okay?" she said, her voice a bit gentler.
I nodded again, feeling a sense of gratitude towards her for forgiving me. "Yeah, okay. I'm sorry again, Sophia."
Sophia nodded, her smile still in place. "No worries, sis. We all make mistakes."
As we stood there, Alex walked back into the kitchen, a look of concern on his face. "Everything okay?" he asked, his eyes flicking between Sophia and me.
Sophia's expression changed, and she looked at me, a warning in her eyes. "Yeah, everything's fine," she said quickly. "Ella just had a little misunderstanding with me."
Alex's eyes narrowed, but he didn't press the issue. "Okay, well, I'm going to get another drink. Do you want one, Ella?"
I shook my head, feeling a bit uncomfortable. "No, I'm good, thanks."
As Alex walked away, Sophia leaned in, her voice low. "Remember, Ella, nothing is happening everything is all in your head you work too much remember what the doctor said,Don't make me have to remind you again."
I felt a shiver run down my spine. I actually remembered what the doctor said the last time we went to see him and I didn’t want to be reminded about it ?
The rest of the night was a blur, with me trying to shake off the feeling that something was off. As we drove home, Alex was quiet, and I couldn't help but wonder if I had really seen something between him and Sophia.
When we got home, Alex went straight to bed, claiming he was tired. I stayed up, trying to process everything that had happened. Had I been wrong about Sophia and Alex? Or was I just being paranoid?
As I lay in bed, I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. I looked over at Alex, who was sleeping peacefully, and wondered if I had really seen something between him and Sophia.
But as I drifted off to sleep, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. Something was going on, and I was determined to find out what it was.
The next morning, I woke up feeling refreshed, but also determined to get to the bottom of things. I got dressed and went downstairs, where Alex was making breakfast.
"Morning," he said, looking up at me with a smile.
I smiled back, feeling a sense of determination. "Morning," I said, walking over to him. "Can we talk?"
Alex's expression changed, and he looked at me warily. "What's up?" he asked, his voice cautious.
I took a deep breath, trying to figure out how to phrase it. "I just wanted to talk about last night," I said, my voice low.
Alex's expression didn't change, but I could see the tension in his shoulders. "What about it?" he asked, his voice neutral.
I took a deep breath, trying to figure out how to phrase it. "I just...I saw something between you and Sophia, and I wanted to talk about it."
Alex's expression changed, and he looked at me, a warning in his eyes. "Ella, there's nothing going on between me and Sophia," he said, his voice firm.
I looked at him, trying to gauge his reaction. Was he telling the truth? Or was he hiding something?
I tore my gaze from him and settled them on my trembling fingers; I was beginning to feel sick the symptoms were returning I needed my medicine
I looked at Alex, trying to gauge his reaction. Was he telling the truth? Or was he hiding something?
"Ella, I promise you, there's nothing going on between me and Sophia," Alex said, his voice firm. "You're my wife, and I love you. Why would I cheat on you?"
I felt a surge of emotion at his words. He was right. He had always been faithful to me. Maybe I had been wrong.
But as I looked at him, I couldn't shake off the feeling that he was hiding something. "Alex, I saw something," I said, my voice softer. "I know what I saw."
Alex sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Ella, you're being paranoid. Sophia is your sister. Why would she do something like that?"
I felt a twinge of doubt. Maybe I had been wrong. Maybe I was just being paranoid.
But as I looked at Alex, I saw something in his eyes. A flicker of...something. And I knew I wasn't wrong.
"Alex, I know what I saw," I said, my voice firmer. "And I'm going to get to the bottom of it."
Alex's expression changed, and he looked at me, a warning in his eyes. "Ella, let it go. You're going to ruin everything if you keep pushing this."
I felt a shiver run down my spine. What was Alex hiding? And what was he willing to do to keep it hidden?
As we stood there, the tension between us was palpable. I knew I had to be careful, but I was determined to get to the bottom of things.
Suddenly, my phone buzzed in my pocket. I pulled it out, and saw a message from Sophia. "Hey, sis. Just wanted to remind you about the charity event tonight. Don't forget to wear something nice
I felt a surge of anger. How could Sophia be so calm and collected if she was hiding something?
"Who's that?" Alex asked, looking at me curiously.
I showed him the message, and he nodded. "Yeah, don't forget about that. It's important."
I nodded, feeling a sense of determination. I was going to get to the bottom of things, no matter what.
As we finished breakfast, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. Something was going on, and I was determined to find out what it was.
