Chapter 8 I will do it

Williams! what do you mean? Elena’s knees buckled and she collapsed on the floor. By the time she recovered enough strength, she instantly received a call from the hospital. Her grandma’s attending doctor’s name flashed on the screen.

Elena answered the call in a heartbeat.

"Hello?" Her voice trembled with concern.

"Elena, it's Dr. Andrews," came the hurried voice from the other end. "I'm sorry to disturb you, but there's a situation with your grandmother."

Elena's stomach churned. "What's wrong? Is she okay?"

"It's not her health, but there are some men here, on the order of a powerful and influential person, demanding to move her. They claim they have the authority," and they're threatening to shut down the hospital if we don't comply."Dr. Andrews explained, his tone fraught with frustration. "I've tried to reason with them, but they won't listen. We're running out of options."

Elena's mind raced as panic surged through her veins. "You have to stop them," she pleaded, desperation creeping into her voice.

"We've tried, but their influence runs deep," Dr. Andrew replied grimly. "Our hands are tied."

I’m sorry Elena, but I can’t disobey the director.

Williams this is all you right? "You sent those men to discharge my grandmother from the hospital so I can go to prison for Anna." To control me right?

Elena's heart twisted with anguish.

That’s not all Elena,"This is just the beginning, Elena," he spat, his voice dripping with malice. "I will hurt you in ways you can't even imagine. And as for your grandmother... do you want to see where she was dumped like a piece of garbage?"

The words struck Elena like a physical blow, her mind reeling with shock and horror.

Williams brought out his phone, and showed Elena a video. It was a video of where they kept her grandma.

Elena was speechless and as she grappled with the shock of Williams' betrayal,now tainted by the poison of his hatred. How could she had considered someone like this monster who turn against her with such venom as the man she loved before?

Her beloved grandmother, was kept in an abandoned warehouse,with cracked walls and broken windows. Everywhere in the video showed sign of neglect and decay.

The video ended and Williams was just smiling like it wasn’t his doing.

So what is it going to be Elena?

Her vision blurred with tears and her mind returned to three years ago, when she saved Williams from that car crash, immediately she dragged him out of it he had sworn to take care of her and treat her well.

Now, he was her biggest misfortune, the one behind every single pain she felt.

Even if he didn’t love her, how could he be this heartless, this cold. At least she was human and didn’t deserve all this, in the name of love.

Do you hate me that much, Williams? What have I ever done to you ? Will my death make you happy or satisfied? Answer me Williams………

Stop with the charade already, it doesn’t suit you alright, he said dragging her hair.

Alright then I will do it. I will take her place and serve the jail term.

In return, just take care of my grandma please, she is all I have. I’ll do exactly what you want even if it’s ten years i don’t care.

Just know that this is goodbye, I will disappear from your life. You are my biggest regret and I will correct it from now on.

Williams' expression remained unreadable, but guilt flickered across his features for a fleeting moment before he masked it with indifference.

For eight long years, Elena had pursued him relentlessly, her love an unyielding force that bound them together in a tumultuous dance of betrayal. Convinced that her love for him would endure, unbroken by the events unfolding before them.

Though he didn’t know why he was bothered if she stopped loving him.

After all, hadn't her unwavering devotion been a testament to the power he held over her? He believed that no matter what he did, Elena's love would never waver. She was like a loyal dog, devoted to her master, and he saw no need to change that dynamic.

Williams met her gaze with a steely resolve, his tone firm but tinged with a hint of something softer. "I don't care about your love," he declared.

And you can disappear for all I care.

Look, now that you have agreed to go on her behalf, I will keep my part of the bargain. I will make sure you only spend few months there and I will still take care of your grandmother.

Elena's breath caught in her throat, her mind reeling with the enormity of his words . She had never imagined that Williams, the man she had loved and trusted for so long, could be capable of such callous behavior.

They stared at each other, each different thought running through their mind.

So now, you will go to the station , report yourself to the authorities and don’t even think of doing anything funny. Trust me you don’t want to anger me more that you have already.

“Williams”

Elena called his name and said nothing, just staring at him with different emotions flowing through her, anger the most evident.

“This is goodbye.”

Williams froze. By the time he snapped out off it, Elena stood up, breaking the silence.

He just stood there wondering if she truly meant it, or this is as one of her performances to get him to sympathize with her. Yet, he couldn’t stop wondering why he cared at all.

He believed that she was the same person who would do anything he told her. He remembered all the things she has done in the past just to get his attention, getting her to give up was impossible.

So yeah this was just one of her pity party.Besides, he doesn’t care about her at all, she is just a bone in his neck that refuse to go away before.

Now he’s free from her for some time.
