Today’s the day that Detective Steinberg should return from El Paso with the notarized statements of Mr. and Mrs. Gorham. Can’t wait to see them and hear his discovery of information.
After coffee this morning at the Legal Eagle, I walk on over to the police station.
“Is Captain Reed in yet this morning?”
“What the hell, does your day start at 10? Our day starts at 8 and runs long. You have a cushy job, Bulldog.”
Little do they know the hours I spend digging up information and making contacts.
“Yeah, the captain is here.”
“Would it be possible for you to tell him I’m here and waiting?”
He buzzes the phone, and the captain answers.
“Send McLain back. It’s a good day.”
