Alpha Of Blackblood Pack
It was the chirping of the birds that woke her up, it sounded so familiar jotting her out of the land of sleep.
She squinted and blinked severally trying to adjust her eyes to the sharp powerful rays of the sun which drove itself into the blue-painted room.
She stirred a little, trying to adjust her sight to focus on the other side of the bed which was as neat and unrumbled as anything.
She stared down at herself and realized that she was covered in a white sheet with drawings of flowers scattered around it.
The last time she checked she didn't owe this kind of bedsheet.
She squinted again in thought and realized that she was not in her room but in a different room which was large and magnificent, bigger than her room.
She tried to get up and unexplainable pain shot through her body, paralyzing her immediately as if a thousand hands which were laced with hot coals were pulling her down.
Her head felt suddenly heavy as the pain ran through her skull leaving her breathless.
She gave up trying to sit up and just lay there staring at the ceiling.
She could feel the heavy hands of sleep pulling her again when the door suddenly opened slowly and she could make out the shadow of someone or something coming into the room.
She panicked and tried to sit up to defend herself from whatever it was when the person who came into the room came into full view.
Staring down at her was a petite woman whose hair was held back in a tight bun, she wore a black suit, and her skirt was well-ironed.
"Good morning Lady Wilhelmina I'm so sorry if I woke you, I only came to see how you are doing based on instructions. "
She blinked.
Instructions.
She wanted to know what she was doing here and who this woman who kept smiling at her was.
As if reading her thought the woman smiled again.
"My name is Eleanor Lakers and I am your maid and nurse whose job is to take care of you..."
"Where am I ?" She finally managed to ask her voice low and hoarse as she tried to sit up.
"No, no, no, no," Eleanor said "You don't have to, you still need plenty of rest."
"Where am I ?"She asked again, a little bit of memory from last night came dancing into her head.
"You are in Blackblood Park and it's a miracle you finally woke up, you have been unconscious for eight days."
"Eight days?" She asked widely surprised and sat up immediately forgetting the pain which immediately protested, shooting itself through her body.
"You have to stay calm, you are safe here. "She said, smiling at her.
Wihelmina's fingers chased up to touch her head and to pacify the ever-increasing pain and realized to her horror that her head was tightly bandaged.
"You still need plenty of rest," she said again and I will send some of the maids up here to serve you some food but before that, I have to tell Lady Renee that you are awake, she would be joyful to hear this good news. " She rattled off.
Before Wilhelmina could say anything else Eleanor was at the door which she opened as flashed as lightning and disappeared.
She didn't know how long she had shut her eyes trying to get some sleep and resting her back against the soft pillows when she heard the door open gently.
She opened her eyes and beheld something which she never could imagine.
There standing at the foot of her bed and staring at her was the younger version of herself.
She gasped and stared at this woman who was dressed neatly and expensively, her straight golden locks glittered in the early morning sun, she wore a contagious smile that stretched across her succulent red-painted lips.
"Welcome home, sister," she said.
The confusion on her face was readable; it made her wonder if her whole life was a prank, a dream.
She couldn't think properly not with the mad drummers in her head dancing and drumming wildly.
She wondered what was going on. She knew something had happened and she had been unconscious for the past eight days just as Eleanor had said but this was too much for her to comprehend.
One minute, she had almost passed out staring up at a figure and begging not to let her die and the next she was in a very magnificent room and then her look-alike was staring at her.
"Who are you?" She croaked fear gripped her heart
"I am Renee Elizabeth McBride and I am your younger sister. I was two when you went missing and everyone thought you were dead." She said almost immediately
"I don't understand this?" She said, almost laughing sadly.
" You are my younger sister." She managed to say her voice barely above a whisper.
"You must be kidding, right?"
She said nothing at first.
"I was heading to Blue Waters Pack to bring you home when I saw you."
Wilhelmina squinted trying to process it all
"If I went missing when you were two, how come you know so much about me? "
"I have done my homework, for years after our parents death, I sent investigators who searched for you all over the Northern Side, the Pack needed you to continue from where our late father stopped and it's not in my position to rule, I just found out you were alive a year ago," she said and began to pace around the room
Mad confusion danced in her head and she wondered what was going on.
She wanted to say something but stopped, her expression downcast.
"Anyways that doesn't matter now what matters now is that you are home and ready to take the position of the Alpha of ."
"I don't understand ."
"You will in due time dearest sister."
Then she stepped back and bowed slightly
Welcome home, Alpha Wilhelmina Martina McBride, First female Alpha of BlackBlood and seventh Alpha from the lineage of Alpha Damon McBride, welcome home.”
