Desmond was startled and scared by what he saw in the video and couldn't finish watching it. He threw the phone away angrily and lie down back on the bed. He wanted to scream but controlled himself and stood up abruptly. He picks up the phone and heads back to the sitting room... "So, this is why you hated me so much, Dad?" He threw the phone at his father in anger. Miranda quickly stands up from where she was sitting and moved closer to her husband to check what was on the phone, And they weren't surprised by what they saw. "Calm down son, it's not what you think de--" Miranda pleaded with her son but he interjected angrily. "Please mum!!! Don't you even try to defend your husband! Why would both of you keep this secret from me?" He started crying "I tried so hard to be an obedient child to you both; but, this is what I get in return? Dad hated me all this while because I'm a monster who doesn't fit to be in your midst right? This is unfair Mum; even you that I trusted so much..." He felt a sharp pain in his body as he stares at his parent, heartbroken. He wanted to break down in tears but had to forcefully excuse himself from their presence. "Desmond!! Please hear us out first". His mum wailed but he turned a deaf ear to her words as he ran out of the house. "You know this is all your fault, Harrison! I always told you to treat this boy right but you refused. This is exactly what you wanted to happen right?" Miranda shouted at her husband and ran after her son. Harrison felt guilty deep down inside of him when he remembered how devastated their son was when he was talking to them earlier. He felt like, he is to be blamed for everything because of how he treated his son. He brings out his mobile phone and puts a call through to the company. He told them to cancel their schedule for that day due to some personal issues. When Miranda got outside, she couldn't find Desmond anywhere around. She started panicking and tries to call his number, but she remembered that he didn't take his phone along with him. She went back inside to complain to her husband about what the situation is; "Where is Desmond?" Her husband asked immediately she steps inside the house. "I couldn't find him around, and I tried calling his number but later remembered that he left the phone at home. I hope all is well with my dear son!" She replied with tears. "It's okay Miranda. I believed all is well with him wherever he is. You know he's not a child anymore, and he needs some time to himself". Harrison tried to console his wife and doesn't want to sound worried to her. When it's 5:30 pm, Desmond returns home with a lot of questions going on in his head that he wanted to ask his parent. When he steps inside, his mum jumped up with joy from the couch and walks over to him; "Where have you been my baby? How are you doing? Are you okay?" His mum kept asking him different questions but he didn't utter a word to her. He just walks away from her and went straight to his room and locked himself inside. When he noticed that the sun has begun to go down, he stood up and goes out. Harrison and Miranda wanted to talk to him when he steps outside his room, but he didn't pay attention to them and left. They followed him out; but were surprised when they see that, he is heading towards the dungeon. They turned back and headed inside. His mum breaks down in tears immediately after they went back inside. She was sad to see how her child has accepted to be in pain forever... ***Next Day*** Miranda got up very early to wait for her son. She kept on checking out the time every minute to know when he would be back inside. Immediately after the sun rises, Desmond came back inside. But to his surprise, he met his mum at the door as he walks in. "Desmond, we need to talk!" His dad says to him with all seriousness. He walked over to the couches and sit; while his mum sits beside him. "First of all son, I don't want you to see us as a bad parent, because all we did is for your good. We got to know about your illness when you were four. That day was unforgettable in our lives We tried our best to adapt to how you normally turn into something else. But it got to a point that we couldn't endure it anymore. And that's how I came up with the idea of always putting you in the dungeon every night". Harrison says as his voices begin to break... "Believe me, Desmond, I never hated you for once son. I just couldn't bear to see you in pain, while I can't do anything to help you out. That's why I'm always harsh towards you. Forgive me, my son..." His dad stood up and moves closer to him, then he embraces him with tears in his eyes... Miranda moves closer to them also and places her hand on Desmond's head. "We tried our best to get a cure for you but nothing was found; so, we had to accept our fate. Forgive us, son. We are deeply sorry for the pain we caused you". Desmond realized how truly sorry his parent is, and he couldn't hold any grudges against them anymore. Then he turned to his dad to ask him a question; "How did I become like this?" "Well son, we have no idea also. I tried contacting some friends who are not from this country, but their explanations weren't useful since we couldn't find a cure for your illness..." Harrison replied calmly Desmond was a bit disappointed, but he made up his mind to find a solution to it no matter what he has to go through. "Don't you worry Dad, I will try all my possible best to find a cure to it. Even if I have to do anything harsh, I don't care anymore". He responded to his dad with a determined gaze. Miranda and Harrison looked at each other for a minute before they both hug their son very tight...
