The Alpha, His Luna, and Her Rose

Chapter 16

Suddenly the study door slams open!

Cole stands there with about 20 guards.

“What the f**k is going on!? I have been trying to get in for about 15 minutes. There was a wall of black smoke! No matter what I did I couldn’t get the f**k through! Is everyone alright!?”

“Yes everything is fine now,” Xavier stands placing Amelia and myself on the couch!

I check out Amelia’s ring and hand! I kiss her ring, move up her arm and to my mark! I kiss it gently and move up to her cheek! I kiss her cheek before turning her head towards me!

“I'm so sorry my rose for any pain I caused you!” I wipe away a few tears in her eyes and kiss her passionately! I pull away and hold her in my arms! “I love you my rose! I’m so sorry!”

I feel Amelia grab hold of me tightly! She lets out a sigh! I look over at Xavier standing in the door way! Xavier dismissed the rest of the guards, but was still dealing with an irate Cole. Cole was confused and worried. Of course he would refuse to leave! I can see Xavier is getting furious!

“Xavier,” I say, “let Cole stay! He needs some answers too!”

Xavier makes eye contact with me. He looks angry, but calms when I smile at him.

“He’s been through a lot too, he only cares.” I mind link Xavier.

Xavier lets out a sigh, then gestures Cole to the chair! Xavier joins me on the couch in between Amelia and myself as Cole sits!

“Let me start from the beginning to help our rose...” I say kissing her hand! Xavier holds me close. He knows what’s about to come!

I take a deep breath! “Before Xavier saved me, I was a member of the death moon pack. I was captured by the leaders helping kids escape! He enslaved the kids and made them work in the fields. He would work them to death! I had no choice, they had to be freed. Even if it meant my life. I got all, but one child to safety, before I was caught.” I feel my hands clench into a fist as I remember the little girls frightened face. I remember throwing her over the wall, hoping someone was still there on the other side to help her. I feel Xavier’s grip tighten. I snap back, knowing I almost lost my control. I take a deep breath before continuing. “After he caught me, he had me thrown in the dungeon. It was there that my nightmares were just beginning.”

I stood and grabbed Deaths robe tighter around my body!! This is going to be hard, but my Rose deserves to know! I turn and look at my mates. Seeing their faces, staring at me with such love gave me strength. I let out a sigh. “I was tortured for 7 days. Burned, whipped, beaten, hung by my neck, starved! If you imagine it, they probably did it! I remember them making it a game! Finding new way to torture me. The tortures were so bad, I constantly prayed for death to take me away.”

I look at Amelia! Tears where building up in her eyes. I walk over to her and wipe her tears and kiss her cheek! “It’s okay my Rose. I got you in return!” I kiss again. This time on the lips. Then I turned and looked at Cole.

“Death came to me while I was in the dungeons, but he couldn’t take me! Some Gods had played a sick joke and I was the target. Death became my savior though; he was cursed in order to take away my pain! He couldn’t watch me suffer anymore since he couldn’t take me! The goddess that cursed him however, felt bad for trickery and blessed me Cole. For some reason I was saved!” Xavier grabbed my hand!

“You were saved, because our pack, your rose, and myself needed you! The Goddess knew that. You have a higher calling than anyone here Esmeralda! You’re the Angel of Death. Deaths creations.” Xavier kisses me passionately.

“Was that what the black smoke was?” Cole asked

“Yes,” I answered back. “I called death here tonight.” I feel Xavier tighten his grip on me. I scoot closer to him to comfort him. I see Cole notice Xavier look.

“I had to cause a lot of pain for him to come. The only pain I know is losing the ones, I love.” I look and see that Xavier is fighting tears. I have forever haunted him with that memory! I will never forgive myself for that! I see Amelia get up. She sits on Xavier lap and pulls herself into him. I wasn’t sure if it was her own well being or his.

Oh God, we hurt both of our Mates! My wolf cries

“What happened?” I hear Cole cautiously ask

“I had to kill myself to bring death here!” I quickly answer

“THAT’S WHY!” I hear Cole respond

Yes. That is why you felt the ground tremble and my howl echo through the house.

The house! Cole quickly looked at Xavier

“Dude I was at the training grounds when I heard. I had midnight training remember. The guards and I ran from there as soon as we heard. I felt it to though! It felt like a piece of all our hearts where ripped out of us!”

“I’m so sorry my loves I say as I kiss them both and turn their attention to me. I never meant to cause you two so much pain! I promise to make it up to you someday!”

“So let me make sure I get this right!” Cole interrupts I see he didn’t see the moment we were having as he was lost in his own thoughts. I see Xavier roll his eyes and Amelia let out a small giggle. “So you called for death, by killing yourself, death brought you back… Then left!”

“No he didn’t just leave, He gave me answers! Answers to my powers, to how I am. I am the Angel of Death Cole. I am death creations. That is why the Gods played the trick and tortured me, why the goddess took pity. Why I was blessed with two people in my life to love.” I grab Amelia and Xavier hands! I kiss their rings!

Cole just starts shaking his head. “You guys are a soup opera!”

“way to change the mood” Xavier chuckles. I see Amelia smirking as well!

“Sorry Xavier, but I’m only calling it how I see it. Just like how I can see I am no longer needed here! I’ll fill you in later Xavier on the news I have for you.”

Cole leaves but stops at the door. “My Luna, I’m glad to see you are safe, but please never scare us like that again!”

I nod in understanding!
