The Alpha, His Luna, and Her Rose

Chapter 17

It’s been a week since death has visited!

Esme and I stroll through the garden. “It brings me such serenity here!” Esme says

It makes me happy to see her in peace! Esme bends down and smells the roses. She breaks off a few dead leaves and sprinkles them over the ground! “Even after death, we all have a purpose” she says looking at the broken pieces on the ground.

I feel my heart sink a little at the words coming out of her mouth. Esmeralda been uttering some dark things lately! Especially in her sleep! She has been spending more time in the study reading! Researching God’s and powers. Trying to get some sort of grasp on her powers.

I haven’t been minding, because it meant more time with me! Making it easier to watch over her!

Xavier would come in when he wasn’t busy with the pack. We had a lot happen lately! Some I created! I think back to that day we had a new rouge join our pack. She ended up being a mate to one of Xavier’s head guards, Drake. It all made since after we found out! Drake kept taking the night shifts, even if he worked all day! He always wanted to roam the boarders! He was being very sketchy on lunch one day, so I decided to find out why! That’s when I saw them! A beautiful blonde outside our borders holding hands with Drake. He didn’t dare leave the pack grounds, as it was against orders, but he couldn’t bring her onto the grounds as Xavier would have known instantly! So they strolled the border, holding hands! I remember the shocked looks on their faces when I caught them!

“Please My lady! This is not what it looks like!” I remember Drake saying bowing his head

“Really… because to me it looks like two wolves in love! Doing anything to stay together, but not upset the Alpha! Is that right!?” I giggle

“Yes, but I... It’s just….” Drake was stumbling to find the words

“He’s been worried about his Luna!” The blonde spat out. I remember Drake glaring at her!

“What about MY LUNA!” I snarl! My wolf feeling protective of her!

I see Drake step in front of his mate. “She didn’t mean anything bad! I told her how our Luna has been having dreams and sometimes these dreams… they… seem to… well”

“Take over her.” I finish his sentence

“Please, My lady I mean no harm. I usually wait until night fall to see Drake, but I found some wild Jasmine! And I thought the Luna could use it!” The young blonde bows holding out the jasmine. Making sure to not cross our borders.

“She’s a respectful one” My wolf states

“Bring the Jasmine here!” I tell the girl. I see Drake go to grab the jasmine from her, but I order him to stop. “I told her to bring it her.” I say trying to hide back a smile. Esme is much better at this bad b***h attitude. I see the young girl take a deep breath as she slowly steps onto our borders and walks over to me. She places the Jasmine in my hand.

“What is your name dear” I ask

“L..Lisa mam” She stutters

I smile at her. “Come with me Lisa.”

“My Rose” I hear Drake call to me

“It’s okay Drake. I won’t be having a member of my pack sneaking around anymore. I will take you to our Alpha directly”

“Are you sure, he will accept me!” Lisa questions “I don’t want to anger him when I hear he has a lot to do!” I glare towards Drake. Before stopping them both.

“This pack is built on honesty and trust! If you sneak around, it will be nearly impossible to gain the Alpha’s trust.” I see Drake and Lisa look down. “But this pack was also built on something else! LOVE!” I put my hands on their shoulders. “Our Alpha knows that more than anyone else. So come I will help explain it to him! I think I can convince him! I am his mate after all.”

“You’re the… the Rose!” I see Lisa freeze in place.

“Yes, dear” I giggle. “Now come let’s take your present to the Alpha and Luna.”

It didn’t take much to convince Xavier to let her stay. I think he just liked to see Drakes face sweat a little! To teach him a little lesson about to not sneak around anymore.

I remember Lisa, hugging me, thanking me!

“You’ll still need to go through the trials dear,” I say remembering my own trials “They aren’t hard as long as you are honest and true. I however have my own trial for you!”

I see Xavier and Drake both look at me confused

“I want you to go dig up the Jasmine and bring it back here! I want to plant it in the loves garden, but since I don’t know how far, or what terrors lie outside our borders, Drake will escort you!”

I see Drake’s mouth drop open, as Lisa’s eyes light up!

“Accompany her huh!?” I hear Xavier mind link me. I look at him as she him smirking at me.

“They haven’t spent any time together besides for walking the borders. Neither daring to break the rules. I figured a little fun was in order for them!” I mind link back

“You heard my rose’s orders!” Xavier turns to Drake. “I expect you back tomorrow at noon!”

“Yes… A… Alpha.. Thank you!” Drake quickly snaps to as he grabs Lisa’s hands

“Lisa,” Xavier calls out as she stops and turns towards him. “Two things. One makes sure you’re ready for your trials begin at 3pm tomorrow. And two, make Drake take you shopping for some clothes before you go! You deserve something better than that.” Xavier looks at Drake. “You know better on how to treat a woman!”

With that Drake drags Lisa out the room. I hear the whisper to each other as they leave. “Is it a trap.” “No, I don’t think so!” “I hope they trust me!” “They will!” “I just want to be with you!”

I listened to them trail off before turning my attention to Xavier.

“Nicely handle my Rose, but next time get permission before letting a rogue step on these borders.” Xavier says a little defensive.

“Sorry Alpha. My love! I quickly correct myself. He hates it that I call him just Alpha!”

“I just don’t want to see anything happen to you or Luna!”

It was then that I remember hearing Cole scream for us.

Xavier and I ran to the entry way as we saw Esmeralda in his arms.

“She collapses in my arms Xavier. She said she felt dizzy and needed my help!”

“Lay her down on the couch!” Xavier ordered.

I yell at Avery in the kitchen to bring some tea!

That was when we heard it Esmeralda utters words that left us all speechless.

“Watch the man with red eyes!

If he succeeds the Alpha dies!

The Beta’s love will live no more

As too their son too will die

The Rose will wither and fade

As the Luna’s blood spreads across the floor!”

Esme jolted awake gasping for air! Xavier and I run to her and threw our arms around her! Cole stood there in shock staring at his mate! It was a rough night in the pack house that night!

 Esmeralda didn’t want to be left alone after that! She said it was too hard to control her powers without someone around her! That was only 3 days ago, and she still looked scared.

She’s been having some rough nights! Last night, I had to mind link Xavier from working and have him help! She was lost in her dream! Demanding the man show his face! She wouldn’t come out of it no matter how hard I begged! Xavier had to literally shake her to get her to wake.

So seeing her at peace in the garden, made my heart flutter.

“We can stay out here, as long as you want, my angel!” I say to Esme as I place my arms around her. She snuggles into me as we stroll down the path.

“Do you know if Xavier is joining us tonight!?” Esmeralda asks

“I don’t love!” I know Xavier has been busy putting Lisa through the trials, but I lately he has been doing extra business with Cole.

“Let’s go see him and find out!” Esmeralda says. “I feel like I need to be close to him!”

“As you wish my angel!” I say, kissing her lips, before heading back inside.
