The Alpha, His Luna, and Her Rose

Chapter 14

Esmeralda’s POV

“What did you two talk about!?” I sneer at them!!

“I didn’t tell her anything about your past other than that you met death. She didn’t tell me anything I didn’t already fear. Your hiding something from me, from your rose, from your mates!” Xavier sneers back!

“My angel, please tell me what happened in your past!? Even just some! Please! We are both afraid to lose you!”

“Lose me... Why would you lose me too!... How… to Who…” My wolf looks at them all confused! Then it hits me! My mouth drops open as I throw my hands over my mouth! My eyes start to water!

“You think I want to die! Don’t you! You’re afraid I’m looking for death because I want him to take me!!”

Xavier drops his head and looks at the floor while slowly walking to me. He grabs my arms and looks me in the eyes!

“My love, why are you being so distant then! Please talk to me!” I see some tears start to form in the corner of his eyes! “It’s been a week! You’ve been barely eating again! I know you are having headache again! Why are you hiding it all from me!?” He starts to become furious! I start becoming furious myself!!

My wolf can’t take it anymore and snaps! She growls and snarls at Xavier! But he won’t let go! Our rose comes over to try and calm me, but my wolf wants no part of her either! I push myself out of Xavier arms and step away some before Amelia can get to me!

“How could you think I want to die!? Because I don’t fear death!?! It’s not like I want to die! I begged death to take me!?... yes! I cried and held his robe as he tried to walk away, but guess what! He wouldn't take me!! I remember his words to this day!

‘I’m sorry my sweet! I didn’t know you would suffer so! Please forgive me, but I cannot take you!! As much as I want to, I cannot take you away.’ For 7 days, Death visited me! By the 3rd day I stop asking for him to take me away! After the 5th day, I asked him why he kept coming to visit me? He said because no one deserves to suffer the way I did and he cursed himself in order to relieve my pain!!"

“Esme...” Xavier and Amelia both say! They both stop trying to find the words!

“Please don't” I say going to the balcony

Xavier start looking concern and starts to follow with Amelia close behind. I open the Balcony door and step out on it! I take a deep breath.

“Luna Esmeralda...” Xavier says in a concern alpha tone!

“Alpha Xavier” I say back. “Everything’s okay! I’m just getting some fresh air to cool down! I think the only way to get our answers is to call death! I’ve been thinking of it for days! Which is why I wasn’t sleeping to well... But I… I found a way to call death! Don’t be mad!”

I quickly jump over the edge when I hear Amelia scream in terror as Xavier yells ‘No’ and tries reaching for me! I see Amelia appear behind Xavier as I blow them a kiss!

“It will be alright” I mind link them, as I close my eyes!

“I need you, death! It’s time we meet again!” I say!

Xavier POV

I hear my wolf howl! I feel the earth shake under the sound of my trembling scream!

I see my beautiful mate, my angel, my love, falling through the air! My heart feels like it's about the break as all the sudden black smoke and vines appear beneath Esme! 3 black rose vines come out and wrap Esmeralda! 1 around her neck, 1 around her waist, and 1 around her ankles! Within seconds she is engulfed in black smoke!

“Esmeralda” I scream trying to leap over the edge to her! Amelia pulls me back down!

Suddenly a large black cloud whirls into the room, breaking all the lights, casting darkness into the room! Only the moonlight shining in the windows illuminated the room!

The dark cloud disappears and a man in a black robe appeared with Esmeralda resting on a smaller black cloud next to him.

“Leave the balcony door open! The fresh air will help her recover faster!” his raspy voice says as he places her on the coach!

Amelia and I both run over to her! Amelia throws herself on the floor, next to the couch, she lays her upper body on Esmeralda. She starts sobbing! I stand there in shock! I go to scoop her into my arms...

“Back off” I hear the man hiss

I growl back! “What the f**k did you do to her!”

“What did I do!? She’s the one who came and got me! I just brought her back!” Death answers

“Back from where!?” I hear Amelia cry

“The afterlife” death said. “Now back off so I can wake her up!” he yells!

His power pulls us back some from Esmeralda. I reach out for Esme hand. I grab her hand, right as she jolts awake! She sits up, gasping for air. I wrap her in my embrace as my body collapses on the coach with her! Amelia jumps into my arms, hugging and kissing Esmeralda through her tears!
