Chapter 12

2316 Words
Back in the mountain of Red Moon, Diabolos and his warrior’s were hatching a plan to take Hette of the Northern Lights pack, and bring her back so their alpha would have his chosen mate.             “Alpha,” Gage the head warrior interjected. “Trying to sneak into Northern Lights territory, let alone the packhouse just isn’t workable. We just don’t have the wolf power, even with a decoy attack away from the packhouse.”               “AH,” Diabolos roaring, “there has to be a way. Think you morons, how can we get in undetected?” He stared at the five sitting across from him in his office. No one made a peep. The silence in the room was nerve racking. Then the door burst open.             “Alpha sir,” Walter blurted out while trying to catch his breath. “I have just learned from our spy at the local bar that Hette has found her mate.”             “WHAT,” the deafening roar made everyone cover their ears. “How is this possible, she has not left her pack and we already know her mate was not among them.”             With nervousness Walter responded, “it seems her fated was amongst the three captured from the rogue attack. She has released him, slowly integrating him into her pack.” Walter continued to stare waiting for his masters back lash.             Diabolos was now up pacing his office agitation coursing through him, “this is impossible how could a rogue be mated to her, she of ranked blood, she should only be worthy of me, dam it me.” Gage and the other warrior’s looked at each other surprise and confusion written all over their faces. “Alpha what do you mean of ranked blood?” Gage asked his alpha.             “Hette is alpha, she is ranked, what concern is it of yours, your only job is to figure out how to get her to me.” Continuing to pace and grumbling to himself.             “Sir, this is important information, we cannot just go in and kidnap an alpha, that’s an aggressive form of takeover, a challenge if you will.” Gage said.             Starring daggers into Gage Diabolos sneered and said, “if she is my mate that is of course what would happen. I would take over her pack, increasing ours. Do you have a problem with that?”             Lowering his eyes as not to challenge his alpha, in fear of the repercussions Gage replied, “no alpha, no problem.”             “Good, then let us get back to forming a way to make this happen.” Walter cleared his throat, “sir I have learned from the informant that they will be leaving the pack this evening to go out on a date, alone.”             “Finally, Walter some good news, could you not have said something sooner, this changes everything.” Diabolos’ attention back on the older werewolf. “Please tell me you have a time and place?”             “Yes sir,” Walter happy to be pleasing his alpha. “Seven this evening at The Flying Noodle in the local human town.” Diabolos paced some more with his hands behind his back. He all of a sudden stopped and looked at everyone in the room, “I’ve got it. Tonight, must be the night. This way it will only take a small group to execute the kidnapping. We catch them unaware, take Hette and leave that so called rogue mate to die.” A wicked smile crossed his face. “Yes, this will work…Walter, go to Moira the witch and get a potion that will knock Hette unconscious, but not harm her.”             “Yes alpha,” and Walter left as quickly as his older body could carry him, to go do his masters bidding.             “As for the rest of you, put together a team of twenty, stealth will be priority on this along with the careful extraction of your future luna, so choose the team wisely. Gather a map and information on the area of the restaurant. Everyone will meet back here in one hour to put everything together, now move.” Diabolos said with authority. He watched everyone shuffle out of his office and then took a seat in his chair, with the satisfaction of knowing his desires were mere hours away. It is finally coming together, Diabolos thought to himself. Soon I will have everything I deserve my mate, and once I mark her, her pack. No challenge necessary. Smirking to himself as he settled into his chair and allowing his mind to wander, while waiting for the return of his men. An hour had passed and the warrior’s returned, along with fifteen others to aide in this plot. Diabolos stood up taking control of the room. Once everyone settled into a seat he began, “you have been brought here to assist in the kidnapping of your future luna.” Eyes scanned each other at the confusion of this information. “I realize this is news to most all of you, let me explain. As you all know the Northern Lights alpha perished over a week ago and his only daughter took over as alpha in his place. Her mate is not amongst her pack members, so I have decided to take her as my chosen. We need a luna and they need a proper alpha to lead them. Through this bonding we will be able to combine our packs, becoming the second largest in North America. This will also give you pack members access to more females with a higher probability of finding a mate.” With that last sentence the room went up in cheers. Just this little prospect of finding mates gave the men the motivation to follow through with what needed to be done. Diabolos could not be happier with the reaction he saw.             “Settle down now, settle down,” I held up my hands to quiet the men. “Tonight, you will covertly go into the human town and stake out a restaurant called The Flying Noodle. When the opportunity is right you will snag the girl and then bring her back here to me.”             “Alpha,” one of the werewolves stood up. “If she is alpha, how are we to take her, overpowering her to get her here would be impossible for us?”             “I am glad you asked. Right now, I have Walter visiting Moira our pack witch and gathering a potion that will render her unconscious. This will give you the ability you need to subdue her.” With his question answered the werewolf sat back down, pleased with the answer his alpha had just given him. Then another stood, this time it was Gage.             “Alpha you mentioned she would be on a date, what of him?”             Diabolos eyes glazed over with evil, “he is not to survive the night.” Then he made sure to stare down each werewolf that was in the room, giving a clear message of his wishes. Diabolos noticed that as Gage was sitting back down his expression was not a happy to comply one and this trouble Diabolos.             “Now if we are clear on the goal, to get the girl, kill her date and bring her back to me unharmed. I mean it, if one hair on her head is harmed you will deal with me.” At which point he pushed out some of his alpha aura onto the men making it clear who was in charge. “Disperse. Except you Gage, hang back a moment.” As I went back to my desk, I watched the last of the group exit my office. Gage was left sitting in the same spot he had been in for the meeting.             “Gage, come over here.” I was trying to get a read of his body language. I did not appreciate him doubting my task of killing the good for nothing rouge in front of my men. He sat down in front of me across from my desk and I stared at him for a minute, hoping to rattle him. Once I saw him move uncomfortably in his chair I asked, “Gage are we going to have a problem tonight?”             “Alpha please, I have been loyal to you since your father and the other ranked members were taken by the counsel. I just do not see why we have to kill this rouge.”             Diabolos a little irritated being questioned by one lower than himself, “if the rumors are true and this rogue is her mate, he could cause trouble in my plans.”             “Sir, once you have bonded with her, he will become irrelevant”             “I know that you twit.”             “Then why must we kill him?”             “Because I don’t want any lose ends. Now if we have come to an understanding I ask you again, do we have a problem, or should I find someone else to take your place?” Diabolos asked.             Staring for a second, then Gage lowered his head and replied, “no alpha, it will be done.”             Diabolos clapped his hands together, “good, now go prepare. Oh, and Gage, do not disappoint me, it will not turn out well for you if you do.” Gage gulped at what his alpha had just said. He got up from his seat, gave Diabolos a slight nod of the head, turned and headed for the door. Left in the solitude of his office Diabolos thought about how happy his father would be. Mating with a strong alpha female, expanding the pack in numbers and strength. He looked at the painted portrait of his parents hanging on the wall. His father so large and strong, his mother small and supportive. I will make you both proud of me, he thought to himself. POOF, SNAP, CRACKLE Coughing came from the center of the room where the smoke was. As it slowly dispersed, I could see Walter laying on the floor coughing, while a short plump woman stood next to him laughing. No doubt Moira, she always knew how to make an entrance. She was your typical witch older than dirt, long grey wispy hair. She wore a dress that resembled a poorly put together quilt, and I swear she had pockets within her pockets, all so she could carry potions with her. Her laugh more of a cackle, “Diabolos your lacky here says you need a concoction.”             “Ah my dear friend Moira so glad you could find the time to pop in.” Diabolos annoyed. “As I am sure Walter explained I need something to put someone to sleep or in a concussion state, for a short time.” Moira looked at Diabolos knowing she irritated him by using her magic to pop into his office, but she did not care, she enjoyed irritating the alpha. “I need specifics if I am to give you something that will work to your liking oh great alpha.” With which she curtsied, irritating him farther.             “Moira, will you stop with the antics.” Diabolos rolled his eyes. “I just need something to put one in a state of slumber for a couple of hours, can you manage that?”             “You know I can you overgrown buffoon. Now let’s see what I’ve got with me, shall we.” She began digging throughout her dress, pocket after pocket. “Hmmm, nope that won’t work. Let’s see this is…nope not that either. Maybe, ah definitely not.”             “Dam it witch, can you not have a simple method to know what you carry on you?” Diabolos said with agitation in his voice.             “Oh, come now alpha, don’t want to upset me and get turned into a cat, do you?”             “No, no, please continue, I’ll just wait.” Moira continued going through her dress pulling bottle after bottle, until “Here we are, this should do the trick.” As she held up a blue vial. “Just a dab on a cloth, place it over the noise and bam sleepy time.” Diabolos stood up, walked over, and grabbed the vial out of Moira’s hand. A pleased look covered his face, “perfect, easy and convenient. I thank you for you time Moira, as usual it has not been pleasant, you may go.” Shooing her with his free hand.             “I should warn you,” Moira was cut off.             Gruffly, “I said good day.” Diabolos not caring what the witch had to say. Moira angry with the way he treated her decided to keep the information to herself, “so be it.” With a puff of smoke Moira was gone.             “Alpha sir,” Walter was getting up off the floor and dusting off his clothes. “Should you have dismissed Moira before hearing her out?”             “No, I have what I needed, and besides that witch drives me nuts.”             “Sir, she only tries to have a little fun, she gets lonely all by herself.” Walter pleaded for the witch.             “If she had done a better job at protecting my father, she would not be in the current predicament she is in, now would she?” Diabolos reminding Walter why Moira was left in a solitude state.             “Yes, alpha I remember.” Walter giving in, humbling himself no longer wanting to question his master. Diabolos stood staring at the vial, “tonight all of my plans will come into play. By tomorrow, Walter I will be so powerful, I can then look at taking down that good for nothing New Moon pack.”
