Stephanie
Stephanie paused in the hallway when she realized Cecil and Jake were talking about her. When Jake mentioned something about her being a bear, she came to a dead stop. He didn’t seem upset, but she wondered if he would feel slighted being mated to a human and not another shifter.
She finally decided to quit eaves dropping on the men. When she stepped outside, Jake looked up at her and she could see the total devotion in his eyes. As long as she had waited for a man to look at her like that, seeing it in Jake’s eyes scared her to death for some reason. His type of commitment was intense and overwhelming. It was something she didn’t quite understand.
“So, Ms. Stephanie, what is it that you do?” Cecil asked her, breaking the trance between her and Jake.
