She needed to get away from him now. She knew in that moment Xavier was everything she hated in her dad. It was starring her in the face. “Lotus help me,” she projected into Lotus’ mind. “NOW!” “Sapp, can you help me with something please,” Lotus said as she rushed down the hill. “With what,” Xavier asked. “I’ll just meet you tomorrow for lunch it’s getting dark anyway,” she said grabbing all her things. “See you then,” he said going to kiss her lips, but she turned and he kissed her cheek. “Bye,” she said grabbing Lotus’s hand and rushing away. “So what’s wrong with you and Xavier now,” she asked. “I didn’t know he was like that,” was all she said when they got in the apartment. “What did he say Sapp?” Lotus asked a little worried. “He’s just not what I imagined. I can’t be with someone like that,” she cried laying her head on Lotus’s shoulder. Lotus just laughed, “One you’re not supposed to be with him. Two, I told you so.” “You’re so supportive,” she yelled at Lotus and made her way out of the dorm. She walked aimlessly for a while then she founded herself at the main building so she traveled up the eight flights of stairs to get to the rooftop garden. “So you come up here often,” she turned and saw Fahlynn coming over to her. “Hey,” she said quickly turning around to wipe her tears away. “Did Xavier do something to you,” he yelled sitting next to her. “No, no it’s not like that,” she whispered as she tried not to cry. She couldn’t, not in front of him. “I just thought”- “I know. It’s okay I’m fine,” she said tossing on a fake smile. “I’m guessing you two are fine then right,” he said trying to see what was really wrong with her. He gently caressed her hand with his thumb and looked in her eyes. “I think I made a mistake,” she said feeling tears stinging her eyes. “I wouldn’t tell anyone or make fun of you. You know that right?” he asked her and she really had no idea what he meant by that. “I don’t understand,” she said looking up into his eyes. He caressed her face, “If you wanna cry I won’t say anything to anyone. I’ll just be here for you,” he said and he draped his strong arms around her. She melted into his arms and the tears just came. He didn’t ask her questions, or say ‘I told you so.’ He just simply held her and kissed the top of her head. After awhile, all her tears were gone and there was just silence between them. “Thanks,” she whispered as she wrapped her arms around him. She laid her head on his hard chest. “Thanks a lot,” she said and they just looked out at the horizon and the enormous glowing moon. “I hope things work out for you,” he said looking down into her eyes as he ran his fingers through her hair. “You deserve to be happy and if he doesn’t make you happy find someone else.” She reached up and kissed him. He was what she wanted, all she wanted. In that instead everything was clear for the both of them. They were tide to each other. They had two choices give into what they felt, or go a lifetime without knowing what true love was like. “I have to go,” he said pulling away from her kiss. “Why do you always do that,” she asked and kissed him again this time more urgently. He found himself lost in the sensation of her soft lips. No other touch could compare to the gently caress of their lips together. He really wanted to stay here with her until the end of time. Then, he realized they were trying to undress each other. He wanted to give in to the melted lava scolding him, but he couldn’t risk hurting Leah. “We have to stop,” he said pulling her shirt down. “I know this isn’t romantic, but why not?” she asked as she nibbled on his neck. That was enough to send him over the edge. He knew she wasn’t going to give up easily. If something major didn’t happen soon he just might give in to her. He couldn’t think of any other reason beside Leah they couldn’t be together. Yeah, she was a vampire, but only half. He could feel how must she loved him and he was in love too. The gods really have a wonderful sense of humor. “I can’t be with you, sorry,” he said as he got up. “Fahlynn…Fahlynn….Fahlynn,” she yelled as he left her. Sapphire “Hey Xavier,” Sapphire said as she sit across from him in one of the schools dinning areas. “Hey, I missed you all day,” he smiled. “Look, I like you and everything, but”- “You can’t date me because you play for Fahlynn. I’m sure he and Lotus gave you hell for yesterday,” he said with a soft laugh. “I know he said it was okay but, I just feel weird with him and Lotus watching us all the time,” she said just going with it. “It’s okay there’s plenty of time for us after soccer season,” she said leaning over the table and kissing her. “Yeah,” she smiled and her phone went off. “I have to go I’m really late for class,” she said getting her stuff together. “Okay bye,” he said handing over her phone which she almost forgot. “Bye,” she yelled rushing out the door and through the court yard to the old colonial building down the pathway. She raced through the hallway and up the back staircase to the third floor. She walked into her classroom and took a seat in the back of the amphitheater. Her heart stopped when she locked eyes with the professor. Those soft brown eyes haunted all her dreams. Now the looked so expectantly at her. “Ms. Silverman you’re late,” Fahlynn said as he walked over to her desk.
