It was a long time before Caldwell allowed Aurora some rest but, after a half dozen rounds in the sack, he felt satisfied that his needs had been met. He had learned right quick that she was not on her period as she’d said she was but, once she did start bleeding, he found that he’d – at least momentarily – lost his taste for s*x. Feeling annoyed, he sent Aurora into the bathroom to have a shower and called for the housekeeper to change the bed sheets again.
Once Aurora was cleaned and dressed, she climbed into bed and fell to sleep very quickly. Caldwell climbed in after her, but he was nowhere near as tired as she was. Not just happy, but also content, he watched Aurora sleep. He touched her cheek with the back of his hand and ran his fingers through his hair.
