Chapter 1
For werewolves being part of a pack is really important, pack mentality is just part of their DNA, that is why rouges are so vicious they were going against what is natural for them and therefore sent them crazy. Not that some rogues didn't band together when they attacked they just weren't part of a functional pack which meant they were not whole.
Isla never felt part of her pack she always felt as though she did not belong. She has no memory of her life before the Red moon pack had taken her in when she was just five years old.
She knew that her family were dead but how or why or any details at all for that matter were gone. It was as if there was a block on her memory, she had tried to ask members of her new pack but no one seemed to know anything only that they has found her at the boarder covered in blood and alone. They were unable to track down where she came from at the time there were so many rogue attacks that packs from all over were being slaughtered so she could have come from anywhere.
Isla had been passed around from family to family in the Red moon pack, it wasn’t that she was bad but she just never felt like she belonged and therefore spent most of her time sneaking off to be alone and to explore. Isla had always had that itchy feeling in her feet that made her want to travel and see what the world had to offer and to find her place in it.
She had tried her best to fit in, she had been able to communicate with her wolf Aria since she arrived at the pack but had kept this to herself as her wolf had told her is was not common for wolves to connect at such a young age. Aria had no knowledge of the trauma in Isla's past but she had concluded that there must have been a major trauma that brought Aria forward early in order for Isla to survive. Isla didn't look like the other pack members she had pale skin and bright blue eyes and slivery white hair. Isla had begun hiding her looks at a young ages after the others children had made fun of her for being so different one of the families she had been staying with when she was around 11 years old had helped her by getting her some coloured contacts and hair dye. Even though the contacts irritated her eyes and the hair dye never lasted long the bullying did decrease as she stood out less. Isla had noticed that that at around the age of 13 when the other pack members her age began to connect with their wolves and shift that Aria was a lot larger than the average wolf and unlike most of the pack wolves that were brown in colour, Aria was a strange mix of black and white, she look as though there was a battle between light and dark raging across her fur. Isla had decided no one could ever see Aria she just wouldn't be able to hide how different she was. Therefore Isla would regularly sneak off to let Aria out for a run where she couldn't be seen. It was on one of these runs Aria had accidently stumbled across the claiming grounds, but more about that later.
